I get the feeling of a political campaign. Southern states rally around their idols to get their local artist elected to an American Idol status. A Californian really has no chance because we Californians don't rally behind the stars of California. Maybe it is because we are divided as a state into many different sections, and we have so many transplants from different states.
I think Simon quit because he didn't see the greats like Adam Lambert win. I think Simon saw the politics involved.
You may not like Lambert, but on the tour the crowd went wild for Lambert. Who was the other guy Chris something? Oh, just me...
I lost interest two seasons ago when Simon left. I had a TV scheduling conflict and didn't make a point to catch up on Idol on the weekends. I did watch some last season because of Steven Tyler. I think the show is on it's way out. The chemistry is gone. Just my opinion.

I just read where the ratings for the finale were the worst ever. And a lot of people just started watching again because of Steven and JLo. I think a lot of it will depend upon who the new judges are. Personally, I was disappointed by the results for the past two seasons. Maybe I just need to admit that music is changing...and what the American public wants is changing also.
When you feel like quitting....think about why you started.

OMGosh Oblaidon, your on the Idol team too. Hey there.
It does seem to be waning. I watch some of it and it I like someone I might call. I usually find a standout I really like within first couple shows, but last one took a long while. It might singing it's swan song soon.
