That's what I was thinking of doing too but then again the question is what about after that free period is up? lol Maybe ill finish my free trial week and see how things go and then decide after payday if I can swing it.

SNOW? we're getting SNOW? doesnt Mother nature know it is spring?

Oh well - dont put those shovels away just yet.

Im keeping the weight down in the 135 range which is good............. starting bike training for the NYC bike tour on April 1. Im going to try to ride some every day and take 3 days per week for some long rides to build up endurance.


COME ON SPRING - or we will be riding in the snow.

Good Saturday to all,

NJJAZZ, you said it. that really sums it up!!

I had hope I would have made more progress with my weight loss but the stress, work load, lack of sleep and my life-long poor relationship with food means I haven't lost any weight. My 55th birthday is just a month away. I had wanted to be under 250 lbs. I am currently at 274. I am refocusing my efforts today with the hopes of losing at least 10 lbs.before my birthday. I just need to have my weight moving in the right direction! I am going to do my best to check in during the week and stay focused.

Im eating a lot better on a more consistent basis. The scale seems to be staying at the 135-136 mark........ which is down 5 pounds from where Istarted. I know with regular exercise i would have gone down another 5 or so pounds....................... motivation stuck.


not liking this chilly weather.............. bring on the spring warmth.

No snow here!
I ran almost a mile today, I wasn't dressed for it, was waiting while my daughter rehearsed for Suessical, so I gave it a try. Hated it so I stopped lol. I need my proper attire and my Brooks!

Came home and watch Pretty Little Liars, and did a TV Show workout, which was fun. Did upper and lower body.

Happy Mid-March everyone! I hope everyone had a fun St. Patty's Day! I thought I'd post since I hadn't in a while. I'm working on my nutrition and exercise. I was recently part of a big lay off at my company. This is my first week 'home' so I'm taking advantage of the time (and severance package) and getting in some consistent exercise and detoxing my body from the weekend's partying.

So fellow New Jerseyans...are we enjoying the snow?

Good Saturday morning to all,
I wish I could get here more often, but work continues to be an issue. There is just no time in my day. This weekend, I have 175 papers to grade, lesson plans to do, bills to pay and the house is a mess so I have get some cleaning & straightening done. I wanted to at least check in, then it's eat breakfast and go to work on that list of things to do. I did get more sleep this week, so that is one step in the right direction. Especially since I get up at 4 AM each day for work. Now to get my eating under control.
I hope everyone has a good weekend. I can't wait for spring!

I learned that any good zumba instructor encourages you to just keep moving. Everyone cant see the instructor so its sometimes hard to learn....................... dance freestyle and try to follow along and just go with it.

I actually don't like zumba. To me it's haphazard. I like to be cued for the next move and they don't do that. So, that's not fun to me. I know that the more you do the routine, you will learn it, but when you are new to the routine, I like to be instructed. That's the dancer in me.

I attended a Zumba fundraiser at the Firehouse with my DIL. I laughed most of the time. I ended up doing my own thing, because I didn't know the routine, and there was no cuing. I had my DIL, cracking up (she was behind me) emoticon My purpose was to Keep It Movin' (we need an emotion that says that). So, I did and had fun doing it, actually.

Dee, I know how you feel. We just lost our other Biology teacher. Until he is replaced i have to write lesson plans for his classes too. I am overwhelmed. Just hang in and remember you can't take care of anyone well if you don't take care of yourself.

Antibiotics can be a killer. Try taking acidophylis with them next time...it helps keep the good bacteria in your gut....antibiotics kills all the bad and good bacteria.

I have been feeling run down since the Half on Sunday, running in the cold killed me! My ear started aching so I wanted to be proactive and took some antibiotics the doc gave me last month. I was in for cold, and he said if I felt worse to take them ( I didn't so I saved em) they gave vicious stomach pains so I stayed home today to rest. No running since Sunday, but I do have a 5K on Saturday and a training run on Sunday, so at least there will be that!

Been flurrying all day but nothing has stuck. Thank GOD. I'm very tired today but managed to walk 10 minutes....it doesn't sound like alot but I just started yesterday and need to build my stamina. I'm no fan of exercise but I need to get healthy. I gave in last night to my craving of a Hershey bar. It fit into my diet as far as calories but I know it was a poor choice. I've lost 5.5 lbs in 3 weeks so I must be doing something right. My kittie is at the vets today. He had a biopsy of a chest mass. I'm worried sick and am hoping it's benign. No answers for a week...I'm on pins and needles. I'm really trying hard not to eat from the stress. So far, so good. Have a great day everyone. Stay warm.

hope all faired well yesterday! There was some coastal flooding, but I am inland enough that we didn't see any. Minor wind damage.
The snow has just started, my son was devastated, hoping for a day off lol
I am fighting a cold, and an earache. Taking antibiotics which give me stomach aches. I can't win lol but I have time to get through the meds before my Half next weekend! 8 days to go!

I'm fairly new here too and am just getting the hang of this site. I really love it!! There's so much info and I love the videos. I'm going to try and get moving this week. I know the storm is coming but I have a few ideas of things I can do in my home...stairs, stretching, treadmill, etc. There's also always housework. Lincroft is very hilly, and it was 30* and windy. One hill was so steep downhill what i jarred my knee and it ached for the last 5 miles. YUCK!
I finished in 2:55ish
Hopefully, that is my only ugly run for the year!

I did a Fun Run in Manasquan today to benefit SquanStrong. It was a quick 2 miler, lots of fun, the Hubs came and we ran with friends. My friend's brother won the race, which was cool, and got a Tee as his prize.
Tomorrow is a Half Marathon in Lincroft a Brookdale Community College. Hilly and scenic, also running with friends, so I am excited about that! Not looking to PR, just to get back in the groove!
Rock n Roll USA is 2 weeks away in DC, truly truly excited about that one! Gonna run in my star spangled tutu!

Hi Team
I am struggling with night eating, day eating ...just eating....all the time! I am completely overwhelmed with my teaching workload. This is the worse it has been in 30 years. I am stressed & fatigued. By the time I get home, eat dinner, grade papers it is 8 pm. I get up at 4 am so I should be in bed by 9 pm but it takes me 2-21/2 hours to unwind. I start watching TV and I don't get into bed until 10-10:30 sometimes 11:00. The lack of sleep, stress, just worsens my natural tendency to compensate with food. I have got to make some changes. I am so frustrated and unhappy with my life right now. So with the new month comes new resolve.
