Yesterday was just over 60* so I did my run outside again, 4.7 miles with my leaden tired legs! Hoping they are less tired today!

Ok I havent been keeping to my original goal of 20 miles a week. But I am getting there did 7 miles today yeah!! And worked out in the gym... I have my goal all set in my mind.. Roll on February.

42* and bitter today, but I am going to run outside instead of the treadmill. I heard there is rain in the forecast so I want to get as much outdoor time as possible!

you guys are so inspirational........... and setting great examples. I dont think Im burning any calories banging away on this computer. Its a bright and sunny day so I really have noreason to not get out there are walk-run or bike. Hopefully will do one of those things today.

Finishing up cleaning my bedroom today................... had piles of clothes I will never wear all over to donate - so getting rid of that stuff this week. Have one of those donor pickups scheduled for Friday................ then it will be on to painting and doing a cheap-o redecoration of my bedroom. emoticon

Bought all the right things grocery shopping this week - so I can keep to a reasonable food intake.......................


will be working on our Feb promise topic..................... being its valentines month - will probably think about some kind of heart healthy topic.

I have been keeping up with mine, 4 runs a week, plus at least one day of strength. Yesterday I did Kettlebells for 27 minutes, and boy oh boy can I feel it! Lots of squats on my already tired legs, lol. I did 6.7 miles the day before!

I have been keeping up with my promise 4 days a week running. That 5th day is what is so hard. I have also been able to increase my distance on my long run Sunday to 7 miles. That half marathon in October just may be possible.

lots of nice weather days and Ive kept busy but havent gotten out walking or biking. No excuses......... just did other things.

Looks like this whole week is going to be a nice one....... up in the 50's lots of days.

Im continuing to work on garage cleanout and my bedroom. alternating between the 2 projects............ making some progress.

loving this weather! 55* yesterday, ran just under 5 miles outdoors. LOVING it! Today is a 40 minute run, and it looks like it will be outside again, yippee!!

with 50+ degree weather here I have absolutely no reason not to get the bike out and start riding it. Got to gear up for that 40 mile NYC bike tour.

51* here at the beach and we never really had much snow, so I ran outside today. It was my short run of the week, 3.8 miles in 45 minutes. I am trying to keep around a 12 minute mile for now, since I have never run a half marathon, once i get to the longer distances I will see how I feel, if I want to try to speed up.
SO excited that our boys are going to the Super Bowl! What a great game!

Foggy, rainy and 40. Snow and ice melting. It's a mess! Dog looked like a drowned rat after our walk today. Had to spritz him with doggie cologne after a good brushing! I hate that doggie smell! I walk rain or shine but today was not especially fun!

How fun that sounds!!! NYC and a really great workout all at the same time! LOVE it!

I found my RKC Kettlebell workout (it's a printed workbook) while I as cleaning my desk. It is about 20 minutes a day and I am thinking of starting it back up. Getting to the gym to run is hard enough, getting there for additional workouts is killing me!

today is sign up day for the 40 mile bike tour in NYC - its riding through all the 5 boros - and riding over 4 bridges.................... Im signing up. thats going to be such a goal for me.


I needed something to train for - and that surely is it.
I have also been working out with kettlebells at home. A great workout. I use a dvd that cme with it and I like it alot. starting to see some results already.................

looks like today is going to be a little warmer than the past few days =---- hopefully can get out and enjoy the weather a little today...................

I'm putting together a team for a Race for the Cure 5K event in May. I've got 4 5K's under my belt but the last couple years I've slacked and looking to get back into running since I enjoy it so much. I promise in January that I will go to my kickboxing class at least twice a week.

For the entire year I am focusing on improving my running. For this month I need to commit to a run/walk 4-5 days a week. Hopefulyy as that goes on I will do more running than walking.

try your local YMCA before you spend money on an expensive gym. They generally have group classes -------------- the pool - and a fitness workout weight room..................... to me its the best deal in town plus its co-ed. think about it emoticon

I want to walk 20 miles per week in addition get back into body work out classes for core, strength weights etc.

I was doing good on a routine and then Thanksgiving and Christmas and weight back on.

LOVING all the promises!
I have done all 3 of my short runs (and boy is my body tired!) plus the weights day and the yoga. Did I mention my body is tired? Today and tomorrow are days off, Saturday is my long run!
My body may be tired, but it is also losing. I weighed on Monday and had gained almost 4 pounds over New Year's. YUCK! Since Monday I have lost 5 pounds, so I am back in the right direction, one pound below my lowest weight at December's end.

Well here we are a few days into 2012. We've had enough time to think about our fitness - beauty - weight - inches - and health goals for this new year.

I like the many challenges here on sparkpeople but I think we need to move one step beyond a challenge - and go to a promise.............. ..............

So emoticon for at least the first few months of the year we will have a monthly promise topic................... what are you promising to yourself ( publically here to the team) that you will accomplish this month?

They say it takes 28 days to make a new habit - so we should be able to each make one promise ( change) for the month................................ and then stick to it for the future.

So what is your promise????????????????/// and then come back often during the month and post your progress and what you've learned.



Mine is --------------
1. kettlebell strength training at least 5 days per week. One of my christmas presents was a kettlebell with a dvd that has 3 workouts on it. I can do it 5 times per week and alternate the workouts.
2. 25 miles per week ----------- that will be a combo of bike riding and run-walking.


SO OK Jersey-ites................... what are your promises to yourself? emoticon
