Our attitudes can affect the results of our Bible study.

The Bible is different from all other books. Just as you understand a written letter from your own family better than an anyone else can, true Christians can best understand the Word of God. This is possible because we become God's children when we are born again through salvation. We have His Spirit as I Corinthians 2:6-16 tells us.

Being reborn into God's family is only a beginning. As we read God's Word, we become hungry for more of His word for it is the Bread of Life. As young children who come daily to their parents to be fed, we must come to God to have our spiritual hunger satisfied (see 1 Peter 2:2).

Also, we must approach God's Word, as a child wishing to please their parents, not as an adult with an attitude of obedience. The child who gets the most from his parents love and receives an inheritance is obedient. He listens to his parents commands and has been reared up in the word of the Lord. An adult with an attitude about obedience, often defies his parent and isn't ready to be fed and has not been reared up in the word of God to be an obediant child. The Apostle Paul was concerned about the disobedience of the church in Corinth and wrote them a letter (1 Corinthians) to counsel them. He explained that because of their arguing and other bad attitudes, they were not growing spiritually. He said:

I could not talk to you as I talk to people who have the Spirit; I had to talk to you as though you belonged to this world, as children in the Christian faith. I had to feed you milk, not solid food, because you were not ready for it. And even now you are not ready for it, because you still live as the people of this world live (1 Corinthians 3:1-3).

Our attitude must include discipline. We cannot expect God to reveal things to us unless we make a real effort to learn. The Scripture says, "Ask, and you will receive; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you" (Matthew 7:7). This means we need to spend time in careful study.

Now, in order for our study to change our lives, we must be teachable, as a child is teachable. We must be willing to receive our Heavenly Father's instruction. Too often we try to live life our own way and unless you surrender to God's will and allow for instruction, this is an attitude problem. Children are eager to be taught and have an abundant desire to learn from their parents, that is why we must be reborn into God's Kingdom as His children, so that we may learn God's way's, His Truth, His Life. Both King David and the prophet Isaiah admitted to God their need and desire to be taught.

I have not neglected your instructions, because you yourself are my teacher. How sweet is the taste of your instructions -- sweeter even than honey (Psalm 119:102, 103).

The Sovereign Lord has taught me what to say, so that I can strengthen the weary. Every morning he makes me eager to hear what he is going to teach me (Isaiah 50:4).

When we are reborn, we are teachable, we approach God's Word humbly. There may come a time when we think we are very wise spiritually or self-righteous. But we must remember not to boast. God has made us what we are, as 1 Corinthians 1:30, 31 tells us.

God has brought you into union with Christ Jesus, and God has made Christ to be our wisdom. By him we are put right with God; we become God's holy people and are set free. So then, as the scripture says, `Whoever wants to boast must boast of what the Lord has done.'

We can never learn everything in God's Word. But we continue to learn as the Holy Spirit reveals God's truth to us. Our learning will go on even in heaven for God's Word will not pass away.
Amen

Amen and Praise Jesus Christ!!

Recognizing our needs and meeting them through the study of God's Word is a must.

God made us in His image. He is concerned about us, He Loves us unconditionally. He knows our needs better than we know them.

As a master craftsman knows his product better than anyone else does, God knows man for He created man. If a product does not work, we send it back to the craftsman to have it repaired or replaced. The crafts makes it whole again or like new.

When our lives are broken, we become bitter, sad, lonely and often angry. We developed bad habits. We do not follow God as we should. We are in need of repair -- correction. The Word of God is the only instrument we are equipped with to make those repairs. Let's read 2 Timothy 3:16, 17:

All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching the truth, rebuking our errors and correcting faults, and giving instruction for living righteous, so that the person who serves God may be fully qualified and equipped to do every kind of good deed.

God begins to repair our lives when we accept Christ as our personal Savior. He cleanses us from sin and gives us a new start. He instructs us how to become like Jesus. The teachings of the Bible guide us in our growth as Christians. They describe God's will for us in our daily living.

As God's Word makes repairs, it fulfills many needs in our lives. It helps us know the truth about our salvation. It teaches us what our heritage in Christ is. It gives us strength and power through Christ. It discusses how to be filled with the Holy Spirit. It provides joy and peace that can only come from God. It directs us to live Holy lives. Hebrews 4:12 tells us:

The word of God is alive and active, sharper than any double-edged sword. It cuts all the way through, to where the soul and spirit meet . It judges the desires and thoughts of man's heart.

The Word of God shows us when our desires are against God's will. It helps us shape our thoughts to be like His thoughts. Our desires and thoughts are at the center of our souls
and spiritual being. We must therefore stay attuned to God's word, by remaining active by reading it daily and living it daily.

The more we read and study the Bible, the more apt we are to listen to the Holy Spirit teaching us, the more we are to know and do God's will. We have purpose in life and the wisdom to make the right choices. The Bible teaches God's Word: "The explanation of your teachings will give light and bring wisdom to the ignorant" (Psalm 119:130). This light guides us in our daily lives. It gives us understanding about Christ's return and our eternal life in heaven.

The light of God's Word changes us into the image of Christ. As we study, we "put off the old self with its habits and have put on the new self." (Colossians 3:9, 10). The likeness of Christ can shine through us to a lost world who needs Christ.

When we truly know God, our spirits are joined with His Spirit, which is the source of life. Once this is done our greatest need is met -- the need for life itself. Hallelujah

The Bible, which is the Word of God, reveals God's plan for every person. The plan is for our redemption or salvation by accepting Jesus Christ as our personal Savior. As soon as we do this we are saved. This is a personal choice every one has to make for theirself.

Once we have chosen to follow God's plan for our lives, we are responsible not only to conform our own lives and characters to Christ's image, but to share Christ's love with others so that their lives can be transformed. We can fulfill our responsibilities as we respond to the Holy Spirit who reveals God to us when we study the Bible.

The study of God's Word demands our best attention. The Holy Spirit teaches us, but we must apply ourselves as well. It takes careful study of the Bible to understand its deep meanings. We must read it again and again to gain it's full understanding.

Try to set aside some time every day to simply read and digest all that you have read. Take notes and don't be afraid to question what you have read. The answers are there. Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you

Jeremiah 29:13
13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart

Our relationship to God depends upon our obedience to His commands. The only way we can obey Him is to know what His commands are. The Bible tells us to give full attention to our work so that we can understand the Word of God and be able to teach it to others (2 Timothy 2:15). Jesus noted the importance of knowing God's Word. He said, "Man cannot live by bread alone, but needs every word that God speaks" (Matthew 4:4). As we use our minds to search for the meaning of God's Word, we are fulfilling part of God's great command: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind" (Matthew 22:37). In other words, in order to do God's will, we must study His Word. In this way we learn of His commandments and come to love Him more.

John 3

You Must Be Born Again

1 Now there was a man of the Pharisees named h Nicodemus, i a ruler of the Jews. 2 This man came to Jesus 1 j by night and said to him, k "Rabbi, l we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do m unless God is with him." 3 Jesus answered him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is n born o again 2 he cannot p see the kingdom of God." 4 Nicodemus said to him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?" 5 Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born q of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 r That which is born of the flesh is s flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 3 7 t Do not marvel that I said to you, 'You 4 must be born u again.' 8 v The wind 5 blows w where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit."

9 Nicodemus said to him, x "How can these things be?" 10 Jesus answered him, "Are you the teacher of Israel y and yet you do not understand these things? 11 Truly, truly, I say to you, z we speak of what we know, and bear witness to what we have seen, but z you 6 do not receive our testimony. 12 If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how can you believe if I tell you heavenly things? 13 a No one has b ascended into heaven except c he who descended from heaven, the Son of Man. 7 14 And d as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man e be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes f in him g may have eternal life. 8

Come ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the Lord! What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see god? Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile. Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it. The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry. Psalm 34:11-15

Proverbs 15

15 A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.

2 The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.

3 The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.

4 A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.

5 A fool despiseth his father's instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent.

6 In the house of the righteous is much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.

7 The lips of the wise disperse knowledge: but the heart of the foolish doeth not so.

8 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.

Good Morning all
God is so good .. 2 Things hes talking to me about today .. you know the Song where he leads I will follow .. when we used to sing it don't hear it much today ..
BUT I used to think do I mean this .. he talks about taking up his Cross and following him .. think,,, all the men who just dropped all they did to follow him
why do you think that was .. I can only imagine God radiated out of him .. He was anointed from Birth but Gods Spirit was on him .. He came to set us free
to teach us to abide in him .. to allow him to show us the way .. So many just don't understand hes in you .. WE are a 3 Fold body .. Spirit .. Soul.. Body
we have a fleshly Body the Spirit and soul live in . we have to take care of it its the home here on earth .. Then we have a Soul and Spirit .. when you
except Jesus into your heart hes there .. now the war begins .. when you except him you said devil im Gods I will walk with God ..but the war is not for
our Spirit but our Soul which if you will is your mind .. now the mind has to be renewed daily ... it wants to go back to what it did .. so there is a war
on For our soul the devil wants us to sin .. daily .. you hear .. come on a drink or a extra bite it wont kill you .. think of eve in the garden .. as the devil whispered im sure he
did it constant .. she knew better .. but im sure he caught her at a week moment .. God forgive us we have them .. the devil knows your weakness .. and
that is where he tries to get you .. for me for 30 plus years it was food .. when I stopped smoking in my 20ies .. early on like I had just turned 20
I had a grandma who taught me GODS ways my parents were to busy .. and that is about all I heard about Jesus .. I soooo loved my Grandma .. I would go
stay at her house and we would read Gods word... then later in my 30s God became real to me .. he asked me to get off the fence .. To live for him ..
and I jumped .. then is when I learned God will teach you .. so the Bible became different .. it came alive .. I saw things in it I had never seen before
God woke me up to show me things .. 2 or 3 am we had a party .. I have since learned not many people seek his face .. sad .. he so longs for each one of us
to .. many just visit him on Sunday and the rest of the week live like they want .. but he showed me so many things .. One of the most important things
God has taught me is James .. he talks about how important what we say is .. if people only really knew . you can speak life or death on someone .. or
even yourself .. ya many say you are far out there but I can show you .. if you believe Gods word I can show you .. read James .. see for yourselves
by all means don't take my word .. never takes mans check them out many are far off .. you know how many people say they are gonna get the flu lol and they
get it oh ya why they said it .. no wonder huh .. yes I believe Gods word and further more .. I know its true.. God is Faithful but so much we are not
We have to renew the mind .. when satan whispers in your ear .. do what God says to do .. James4: 1 From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?
2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
5 Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?
6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

look at verse 7 Submit yourselves to God .. Resist the devil and he has to flee ..
you have the power to resist him .. but you have to summit to God first ..

Do yourself a favor take a mental note .. watch for one day what you say you will be amazed ..Watch your words .. The world God framed with words ..
under God Jesus gave you power to speak life or death .. be careful .. Proverbs18: 21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
I for one Choose life .. and I choose life for you .. lets be a Blessing to someone today .. God loves you Bless them .. love Betty
