I have a friend that is completely obsessed with Zumba, and I finally went and bought the Zumba workout game for the Wii...I LOVE it! I've done it a handful of times, and it's fun and fast paced and you don't really realize you're working out. I do that as my afternoon workout when the kids I nanny are taking their nap, and then I go to the gym after. It's fantastic!

The first time I tried the class it was about a year ago and I was instantly in love! Its very fast paced as mentioned before (depending on the instructor), I go on the nights where the harder ones teach! Time FLIES and you burn tons of calories (depending on how well/hard you dance) in a simple hour. This is great for me because all of my muscles are worked and my cardio is in and I'm done for the day. Depending on the instructor also, the music is great and motivating; reggae, hip hop, and spanish music makes it feel like you are on a mini vacation! TOTALLY addicted!
I recently tried Zumba with a family member this past Thanksgiving holiday. Wow is all I can say. it's far from you normal workout class. The atmosphere is very fast and vibrant. You workout to a variety of fast songs with a length of 5 min each. I really enjoyed myself and would love to try it again..

I've been a part of Spark People for a while now and have loved this group.
Right now I'm in a journalism class, and I'm covering the health beat. I'm writing a story about Zumba's rise in popularity in the past few years, and I'd love to hear from you all about whether or not you've bought into the craze, why, and what you like about it. If you're not a fan, why is that?
If you'd like to participate, please reply or message me. I'd love to hear from people in the Spark People community about their Zumba experiences for the story I'm writing.
