I totally feel you on the needing something sweet to help wake up in the mornings, but the mid-morning crash is NOT worth it. :) Personally, I'm a big fan of protein and carbs at breakfast, so I usually have 8oz of 2% milk with one scoop of Muscle Milk Light (cookies and cream is my fav). I also eat one piece of WhiteWheat bread (50 cals) and one tablespoon of cocoa peanut butter (85 cals). Altogether it's a little over 300 calories. Keeps me full until lunch (which I tend to keep light, especially since it's so hot here), and helps keep my blood sugar more stable.
I guess that's my long way of saying...trying different combinations of nutrients and calorie levels until you find something that clicks for your body.

Hope this helps!

All of the processed foods is one reason you dont always feel full shortly after eating.
If you can't get away from them, try adding some fresh things in to eat along with them.

For breakfast, try some fresh fruit along with the muffin. Low calorie, but will help keep you full longer. Also - high fiber, whole grains will keep you fuller until lunch or at least a mid-morning snack.

At lunch, if you're eating a lean cuisine, buy some extra frozen vegetables - broccoli or sugar snap peas - whatever goes with the meal you're eating and mix them in with the meal. It will add some substance and nutrients.

Maybe for a nighttime snack try some 100-calorie popcorn. I find that fills me up a lot. Also - some lowfat yogurt or sugar free pudding mixed with fruit is very filling in the evening.

As for the headaches from sugar withdrawl - you might have to just suck it up and suffer through them for a few days if you want your eating to be healthier. Not that you should cut out sugar completely, but the added sugars from processed foods should be limited. Fruit has a high natural sugar content - and starchy vegetables like potatoes and corn will also help keep your blood sugar up to avoid headaches and crashes.

The headaches might also have something to do with the long periods between your eating. Try having a small snack in between meals. Some almonds, or as someone suggested a peanut butter sandwich are filling.

Here are some options that I go by. Some make sense and some don't, lol.

1. As far as breakfast, I'm following the JC plan, so I don't really have any good suggestions. But, with JC food, I have a yogurt and a glass of milk and water water water.

2.For the early morning cravings, try eating a yogurt, and chug a big glass of water with your muffin. Water really does help you stay feeling full longer.

3. For the late night cravings, I have actually taken an allergy pill that knocks me out to stop myself from eating. It's sad, but true.

4. Try eating a peanut butter sandwich, something like that sticks with me.

5. Is there any way to get to bed earlier? You're going 5 hours without food, and your body should really be eating every 2-3 hours. This may help the night time cravings. Maybe you could even eat dinner later, and snack (healthily) more throughout the day...

6. I would definitely stay away from the caffeine at night time. It screws me up sooo bad. I used to drink a diet coke before I went to bed almost every night. I'm a smoker, and I've even had to stop myself from smoking right before I go to bed.

7. Try to live by the food pyramid. This may sound stupid, but print out a food pyramid each day, and cross of what you eat as you go. You may be surprised to find that you haven't eaten all of what you're "allowed" to eat.

I really hope this helps! If you need anymore support, email me!
