Here I am Monday morning and my schedule is so busy from the get go. I have to not only do my daily chores...I have to fit in time to pick up my sister from the hospital...(she had her left lung and lymph nodes removed last week) she will need some extra help this week. That is at one side of my state...then I have to be in another city to make it to the Doctors offices for myself. I also have to be 40 miles north sometime today to check on the progress of work being done in a home I purchased over the summer. And guess what we had a snow storm come in last night....it came pretty intense for a while but I think it will mostly melt today. Giving me at least a better highway to drive on.

Things are all set for the holidays...as usual we are all decorated up and have our annual celebration with the horses and all. I am trying my hand at making fresh donuts each weekend for our clients and friends that show up. We serve cider and hot donuts.....yummy I smell them and want to down them myself but I do try to refrain from it. Still it's tempting.

The hubby restored an old sleigh over the summer that we managed to pick up at an estate sale a couple of years ago...It is absolutely beautiful. We are going to hook it up for the first time this weekend...to actually put it to use. We have test drove it but no one has actually sat in it through the woods yet. I am so looking forward to showing it off. We do have two other sleighs that are in good working order...but the new one is special to me. We also have the hay wagons just in case a lot of people show up we can take them through our enchanted forest in larger numbers. The boys (my son and grandsons) show up each weekend for a few hours a day to help out.

HO HO HO Merry Christmas Everyone

Oh my gosh it happen again this dang server problem. You would think as much money as SPARK makes they would distribute the servers out more. Not have so many on the same server. It's over loaded so it slows down and doesn't load then times out.

Ouch I hate to hear about the hip. I will keep my fingers crossed.

It's getting cold here ...burrrr but then it's Michigan isn't it.

Joanna, I think computers do that on purpose, they have a mind of their own.

I can't wait to get a new computer then a new fitness tracker so I can cync it to each other. I want to track my sleep. I probably get less than I think. I did find one that lets you know to move, maybe by the time I'm ready to buy a new one they'll have some newer models.

You have a full morning just feeding all the animals. I don't look forward to the snow you'll be getting. Remember it well from my days in Ohio.

Went to the doctor yesterday for some discomfort in my hip. He took x-rays etc, and said I have the starting of degenerative disc. I need to ask him more questions when I go back.

OMG I just typed a whole page of content on here....hit the button and it just didn't load the page. Spark is getting to busy and with so many people on the servers they are not working right. Bad news....so a page will not load and when you hit the back button oops there goes everything you just put in.

To start over again is a pain but here goes

If your fitbit is still keeping a charge for five days that is a great plus it's right on target. Mine started like that but it went do to every other day and then to not keeping even one day. I would do a lot and find out nothing was tracked because of it being dead. If this happens again I am going to switch to another brand also. I love the fact that it's there and reminds me to do just a little more of everything.

I went out and feed all the horses this morning, cats, and dogs. It was a little nippy but over all great weather for this time of year in Michigan. I didn't do much else but I did manage to take all my meds. I have been so messed up on that for a while. I take it one day forget it the next. Not a good thing for sure to be bouncing like that with high blood meds.

I think I will go by the lake house and take a look at what is going on there. I had it gutted to the foundation. Did a little remodeling...design change and now they are getting ready to put in the insulation and drywall. I want to make sure they put in all the electrical where it is suppose to be before they close up the walls. I should do something around here to just so I can say I did...lol

Hope this takes I am going to copy just in case it doesn't this time that way I can just paste.

Sheesh

A friend gave me her old fitbit, but I can't but it into the computer, I have an old PC and wasn't on the list to download the fitbit to. I can use it for time, heart, steps and miles. I don't think the calories is correct for me because it has her info input to the watch. Someday when I get a new PC I'll get a new Fitbit. I'd like to use it to track sleep and notification to move.

I should see how long she had the fitbit, maybe mine is on it's last legs. I have to recharge it about every 5 days. I've only had it a few weeks. Let me know how long this one last for you. My friend has a Samsung tracker that she loves.

I started using a fitbit last year...and I fell in love with it. It seem to help me promote a better health style and well it all lasted about 4 months until my fitbit no longer worked. So what I did was run out and buy a second one....that again got me all excited and that was short lived for it decided to quit working in an even speedier time frame under 60 days.....I went the last 3 months back to the just me routine doing what I did for years. At Costco the other day I seen they had just one Fitbit Charge HR left and it was on sale....so here I go again...I bought it set it up and now its all charged up and ready to go. I strapped on today for the first time. Let's see how long this one last. Unfortunately I do not have anything good to say about Fitbit at the moment...they are very costly and do not seem to last very long. Just long enough for my sales receipt to declare out of commission and you are on your own.

Here's to good luck if there is such a thing. I so want to give this Fitbit product one last shot of working right. I will keep you informed and updated on my progress.

Hope you are all enjoying your day.

The weather is really exceptional here...rainy but in the 40's here to. For Michigan this time of year that is warm. Thanksgiving was great spent with family. Everyone showed up and we had a great time just enjoying the day. We adopted a new family pet (Buddy) an American Bull Dog....we have had him just a week now and he got to meet the whole family. I think he enjoyed getting so much attention. He came on medication for anxiety but I removed that from him and as he is never left alone he is doing really well on coping with his anxiety. I am working with him daily to train him for our home situation and he is a very good student. I think we are the perfect place for this active dog.

My stove top broke and I could only use my oven so I was left with having to only supply the turkey my grand-daughter Alexandra cooked and brought everything else....my daughter in law brought the stuffing and home made pies. We ended up having a ton of food and believe you me we all ate up a bunch of it. So much for my dieting. Oh well tomorrow is another day. Speaking of tomorrow.....Black Friday Sales so I am going to go out and find a new stove.

I hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday with family and friends.

How's the weather/ It was 44 this morning when I got up at 7:00. That is cold for Florida.

Me too I am with Court...welcome to the team. I too have been away for most of the summer. I have been so busy trying to get things done around the farm that I have had no time for the computers. To my dismay for I really like getting involved with other team members.

Court I have missed you. Hope all is well with you.

We've been having some rain, but too bad. I think it was last week we did have a big rain and filled our ditch luckily our house is high and dry. It's 88º out now, so not too bad.

That's a lot of steps!!! I'd love to have a fitbit. Doesn't it check other things too? A friend has something on the order of a Fitbit; I think it tracks heart beat? Is that the thing that reminds you if you haven't been moving enough?

Nice group of horses. It's hard to make out some pictures, it's my computer, something about the......something, I forget.

I have not heard of Pinwheels I will have to check them out...

JJ is doing great.....thanks for asking.

Yesterday I was so excited to know that I walked 13,221 steps...that is over 3000.00 of my daily goal. I am keeping track with the fitbit wrist band. The one think I have noticed is that having it on all the time makes me aware of trying to keep up. So I park a bit further away now..even though I have handicap parking. I also always walk with the basket rather than sit in the cart and shop. Doing all my own stalls each morning was so hard the first couple of weeks when I got back from Las Vegas, but now I am getting my upper body strength back and I feel really good doing it. In fact I laid off the hired help and took over the barn myself for the summer. What I feel bad about is that I have laid off a couple of good barn employees and if they are not here come winter to help out I might be stuck, but that's another topic.

My horses are all groomed up and looking pretty good...I turned a few of them into one of the big pastures this morning a little further from the barn and they are loving it.

I think what you got Olivia are all good ideas. Clothes with her name and the books, emoticon

I made or rather tried to make pinwheels for dinner. Ham for DH and turkey for me both with cheese, tomato and cheese.

I got back home in Michigan last Monday and for the life of me I have not stopped for even a light break. I have been grooming horses...gutting the barn.....handling mail....replenishing the much needed items in the house and barn....(way to much shopping) and on top of that I have been handling trying to visit with everyone that is coming by all the time. Now I have an afternoon baby shower to attend for my great granddaughter Olivia. I think I might have messed up there. I was not here to see the invitation so I did not know she had a list at a local store....of things they wanted. I instead went on Etsy and order a bunch of cute little outfits for 0 to 3 mos with her name printed on them...and then started a collection of baby books that will come in handy sooner or later. Oh well they will just have to deal with it. My first grandsons...baby how sweet is that.

On a sour note I woke up this morning to my Stallion...sick. He was shaking and wanting to buckle and lie down. Not a good sign. I put him on BUTE and a shot of antibiotics. Hope it will hold until I get back. I think this weather is getting to him...he has a runny nose. I hope it isn't to much more. He is a young boy and pretty strong. I will keep tabs on him...and I have a vet coming out on Tuesday so I will have him checked out then. Time to float some teeth...and pull some wolf teeth. Plus I kneed hock shots for one of my show horses. Other than that things seem to be alright for the moment.

I want to wish everyone well and hope you all have a great Sunday.

Joanna, I hope the horse will be okay. I'm not sure what that is but doesn't sound nice.
It's a lot of work having a farm, not that I've ever had one, just see from movies and what you've said.

I was up and out early this morning...down at the barn. I am feeling pretty good I got a head start yesterday when I had the barn gutted....and all the mats power washed. I so love the smell of fresh wood chips. This morning I feed and watered all my horses....and paid my little homage to each one of them. I missed them so much.

Unfortunately my farrier informed me a couple of days ago that one of my favorite horses had a severe case of thrush. My number one concern now that I am back. I was a bit upset with my grandson since he was the elected stall keeper during my absence....and its not like he did it out of the kindness of his heart I paid him a good wage to make sure it was done right. (NOT)

Oh well I guess I have to suck it up and get back to the issues at hand. Shedding them out and getting them all ready for spring baths. I have only 3 left to finish up on and then I am on to the bath house with them. I am hoping for just a bit of warmer weather first..but either way I am up for the job.

Happy April!
It's a nice winter we're having this spring here in Ireland, but I haven't lost all hope I will feel warm again :)
Well done on going to the gym! I keep telling myself I need to do join again but so far it is easier (and cheaper) to exercise at home. Plus I don't have people coming to ask me if I'm all right because I look like I'm about to have a heart attack after a good a workout. emoticon emoticon

Hi, Happy April. How is everyone doing? Pretty nice out here in my part of Florida.

I've been going to the gym off and off and had a 30 min training session with a trainer Tuesday. Cost a fortune to have the 6 week session so one 1/2 will do. I got a good workout and still sore

Hope all had a nice Easter and nice weather. Our church had it at the fairgrounds so all 3 services could be together. Nice turnout too.

Had headache most of yesterday and another cold sore. Friend said to see about food allergy testing but my insurance won't pay for that. Maybe I'll call Medicare, but I doubt that they pay.

How's everyone doing this week? We had some rainy weather but nice today.

I never knew this was Ireland's plight back in 18th century.
www.kinsella.org/history/hist18.htm

I liked Lost, Don't remember a lot. I know the Asian guy never left Hawaii but got a job on Hawaii 5-0. It was an interesting series. I missed a lot of the Vampire Diaries series. I'm wtching LipSync Battle and Nina Dobrev is on it. She plays Elena on VP.
There are some series I"d love to get on Nexflix. We have it iin our area, but we don't have it personally.

I like your profile pic. Cute.

Funny your son in reverse telling you watching too much.

I never got into the LOST series but I heard it was good. Yep I think I read where he was on it....I just finished the last of six seasons....sheesh...did that take up a lot of wasted time. My son was angry he threatened to turn off NETFLIX lol...can you believe that...a son upset with a mom over TV. Roll reversal. Anyway it's over now all I have to do is stay away from multi series shows.

I am so hot this evening don't know what is going on...I think I want to get outside where it is cooler. I feel a bit clammy and a little weak.

Have a great weekend.

Joanna, I'm glad you found what was needed to take care of the bug problem. It could have been so much worse, if you hadn't seen it in time.

I watched some of the Vampire Diaries. Damon, Ian something or other was on the series Lost. I think he was the first to be killed off, even though I think they were to be all dead anyhow. So confused on that one. I've missed so much of the series, I should get back to it.

I am waiting on NV Energy to show up and install a new thermostat. One that I can track on my phone and computer when I am away and out and about. It’s a free upgrade program they are offering residents of Nevada.

I did something very foolish last night. I went to Netflix…which I don’t have back in Michigan and while searching I found….Vampire Diaries …. I started on season one….I have six seasons…before I am up to date on this years….season 7. The next thing I noticed is that it’s not a normal season…there are 22 episodes of just season 1. I am not on episode 8….I let it hook me in line and sinker. I am in for a long drawn out mess of TV watching. I knew there was a reason I refused to watch it on regular cable, but here I am stuck on it.

Court: I thing I am getting my bug problem under control...a lot of work but it seems to be a whole lot better. It says I have to wait a couple of weeks and repeat .... I will be most likely doing that for the next 6 months....Oh I hate those little suckers so bad.

Ok the NV guy just showed up so gotta run.

Hugs all and have a great Monday evening.

Here is it Sunday evening in Las Vegas….I cleaned the house, hung up window drapes and my wall pictures that I painted. Horses of course. My son was not that happy with the on start but now that they are hung with his help (so much taller than I am) he is happy with them. “I don’t know why I even say anything to you mom” he stated “when it comes to horses”. He is so right. So the new house is finally becoming a home where I will enjoy and get to relax. He bought some nice patio furniture that does on the deck and around the pool. I was so looking forward to the pool when I was thinking about coming out, but unfortunately once I was here the weather is a bit chilly for me to actually get in and enjoy the water so I just enjoy looking at it for the moment.

This week I am going to go around looking for a new car…or a very nice used one I am not sure which yet. Right now I am renting from Enterprise and it’s costing me 1100 a month….not going to let that happen a second month. That right there could be three months payments. So with two weeks to go I better get on the ball and check things out.

I see that the storm is over on the east coast…and hopefully all our sparkers have managed well during it. I said a prayer for those out there, and the ones that didn’t my heart goes out to them. Talk about a winter wonderland….now all you have to do is wait to get around in it.

I smell food cooking so I asked my son what he is cooking tonight …he replied Salmon Salad ???? What is that? I am not that great of a sea food person and here he is experimenting on me once again. He so wants me to eat healthy which I think I can do but Salmon is not really my cut of tea.

Going to call it an early night so I can watch a little TV before it’s too late.
Take care

Joanna

I hope you can save it, that is a lot of money for a good mattress. You should be enjoying your new place in Vegas instead of going through this. Sounds like you are doing all the right things.

Hi Court:

Sheesh I have been working all day trying to get this under hand. I did take off all the bedding...threw away the quilt....(sad it was so nice). Did all the bedding and yes I too got the alcohol 91 % and mixed it with water and sprayed down the bedding...after vacuuming it down. I went to Bed Bath and Beyond...to grab total mattress covers that say they are bedbug prof....I bought pillow and even covered the box springs.......so far I have not taken off any covers...to the electrical or anything....I will see what this does....first. And unfortunately I have carpeting. I don't think I am infested...I am hoping that I caught them just in time...if I brought them in from shopping or something ..... they were the size of a needle eye. One little black one and one little tiny red one. So far..that is all I have found...but it says it will take several attempts so I will keep watching and hopefully get it figured out. If not I will call a professional exterminator. I just paid 2300 for the stupid mattress I don't want to throw it out but who knows.

I am exhausted.

@#$%%^&&**(&*^%$# excuse my language but I lost my post. Hate hate hate when that happens.

Joanna, sorry for the bedbug problem. I have a friend who had them. I'll have to ask her what she did.

(Almost lost it again so I’m doing it in a document and will copy/paste it to the team. Really hate this computer)

That is nice to have a second home. I wish we have a place to get away to. We do have plans to go to Disney in May and spend a couple days in Kissimmee.

Good Monday Morning to Everyone……I am not sure where you are all at or if you are checking in or not but thought I would just drop in and let you all know what I have planned for the day and maybe into the week. I have two concerns today….first let’s get the good one out of the way and then I will venture into the awful one. It’s bright and sunny here in Las Vegas….I did some more shopping yesterday and found a great bargain on a new refrigerator and some small appliances that I need here. I also finished the spare bedroom so that I have a place for guest that might want to visit me while I am here. I know I am only spending 3 to 4 months a year here but I do want it to be a nice place to come to and in the long run it will save me money from all the hotel bills like the ones I have paid in the past. I bought a small 3 bedroom house with no family room so…..there lies the problem out of space already. My son agreed to park his car outside and give me the garage to set up my painting studio and a small work out area. Which is working excellent so far. I have my easel and paints there……and have started to supply it with exercise equipment and a small sofa to sit and rest when I need to. Well the sofa is really just a futon in leather but hey it works. So with that said…I have been taking daily walks since I got here…my son has arranged my diet since he is a (chef) and the rest is up to me. That’s the good news…now for the bad.

I have been waking up the last few days with small bites …here and there on my ankles…arms and butt of course. It’s kind of hard to walk around when you have to scratch your butt all the time. I was thinking I might have hit a batch of nates or something while walking but that does not seem to be the facts as of this morning. I only use solid white bedding never colored….so this morning I noticed on the sheet something was moving the size of a pin head….but it was moving. I played with it for a couple of seconds turning it from side to side then picked it up between my fingers to squash it. Poor thing but hey it was biting me. Pay back is extreme. Now I spent the next couple of hours looking up information on bedbugs…where they come from….how the exist….how to get rid of them. In all my years of traveling and going and coming I have never been a victim of bedbugs. Until now! So I have a plan but its costly and time consuming….and my cost me a bundle ..since all my bedding is brand new and expensive….I am hoping to salvage the mattress and furniture…..but who knows….and maybe I have to look into all three bedrooms. My son said it could have been brought in on the mattresses that we just bought for the spare bedroom… OH MY GOSH….that an ordeal I am facing. At least I think I am getting it early since the buggers are so tiny….I hear they grow up to a ¼ inch in side and this is barely noticeable. If it was on dark bedding I would never have seen it.
If anyone has any suggestions now is the time to share.

Joanna

So sorry for your husband's dog. I know the feeling of loss. Hope he is doing well. Took me a long time. Sounds like some neat things you bought!! I hear about Fitbits all the time. Must be a nice handy tool to have.

I agree about the Happy Holiday thing. I have a badge that says, "It's okay, wish me a Merry Christmas"

Let's hope the new year is better than last year. Although I had cold sores at the end of Dec into Jan so we'll see.

Am I crazy or what….I have no idea what I just did over the last week. I thought I the ideal was to get on line and order a few things for Christmas gifts, kind of last minute stocking stuffers. Me….I must have been thinking of myself. What really gets me is the prices I spent all on myself. I went on a binge of buying. I bought over 300.00 worth of lord knows what (some kind of cream to help the wrinkles) another 100.00 on a fitbit flex – then a ton on colored bands for it to match, and let’s not forget a TruBioTrim regimen of pills to help get healthy and slim (haha) that is a monthly supply of 90.00 and I have been buying for my dog….SNOW a Husky. She is all that I have left now that we had to put down our third dog for the year. My husband’s beloved boxer had cancer and it ruptured and he was bleeding internally. It’s been a hard year…but that was the worst of it. They were inseparable, went everywhere together. The old man would take two keys so he could keep the truck running to keep Diesel warm on chilly days and air condition running on hot days. That dog followed him everywhere and anywhere. Anyway we put the poor boy in his grave in a nice box the hubby built the night he died. We brought him home from the vet in a body bag….he brought him into the house took him out of the body bag and put him on his bed…covered him in a blanket turned on the music and got drunk crying and building that box for him boy. Meanwhile I went on a spending spree buying up all kind of new stuff for my girl that is now the last of our group of rescues. I blew over a thousand dollars on junk for me and my dog (lol). I am so short of Christmas gifts I am not sure what I can do at this late date except try to weather the storm and go out and do one shopping in public. I hate that, the crowds and lines of standing waiting to pay for items that might be just taken back.

Have a Merry Christmas….and forget that Happy Holidays crap….Keep the CHRIST in Christmas alive.

Love you all.

Joanna

A beautiful day out today to get things accomplished. I thought I was doing just that when I scheduled an appointment to get my piano tuned. I had to move it out of the room when I put in a new floor….while moving it…the boys of course did not worry about the things and boy did it get out of tune. Well it seems to be a NO SHOW. I worked all night…laid down, put the alarm set for 1.5 hours got up and have been waiting ever since
.
Thanksgiving is right around the corner…I know we all have things to be thankful for. Just to sit and ponder them from time to time is important so we can clarify how lucky we actually are. I know we all have some negative things going on too but now is not a time for negativity it’s a time to rejoice in the good things.

I’ve been away so long I have to get use to reading all the updates, and recognize new names.

I know what you mean....I went shopping last night and got a nice throw for my office chairs...to keep me warm. I have a lot of windows so it gets pretty chilly in there....and I keep the temp down really low because I have a husky. She is not keen on cold weather but she can't take the hot for sure. Such a spoiled girl!

Have fun today

I need something like that. I feel like I sit most of the day, working on pc, watching tv eating at table, sitting in car. {sigh}

I so need an accountability coach. I'm talking with the doctor when I have my appt in 2 weeks.

Can't wait to see your new equipment.

I know I was checking out sit and stand desk and found a really cool one that rises electrically. I ordered it and the hubby put it together...I also saw this thing called the fluidstance....and ordered one of them. When I first stood on it I lost my balance and almost fell off it...but here I am just a few days later and have found my balance...and when I suck in my stomach I get a good core work out while standing up at the desk. I will take a picture of the room ....and share with you when I get the computer set up on the desk today.

I saw on tv a desk that raises and she was walking on a treadmill while working at the desk. Hard to explain.

I wouldn't have minded one of these when I worked, but I don't know if I could type and walk.

Glad you are able to get back 'on the wagon'. I'm still trying to catch up to my wagon...at a very slow pace.

Some of our doctors we get right in and like you said some we have to wait a whole morning or afternoon. We go for our blood work in 2 weeks. Hate needles.

Here it is Friday, the end of the week…well at least for me. I did payroll, paid bills and made it to Market. I am trying to think what I accomplished that was healthy and beneficial this week. I did go to the Doctor this morning. Nothing important…just a blood test and a minor check up to keep up with my heavier medication. Strange after all these years…that just this year….I have had to start doing Urine and Blood test to see what medications are in my system…and how much of it there is. I suppose this is a good thing on one hand…to make sure I am not over taking anything, but on the other hand…it’s a pain in my butt. I have to drive an hour one way just to get there….and then the time in there waiting to see the doctor…you might as well say it can take a whole morning or afternoon.

The hubby just finished my front room….he took my music room, that got turned into a bedroom, and reinvented it into a home office for me. I am loving it. I also got one of those rising desk…that will allow you to sit or stand while working with the push of a button. Love that…and then for the fun of it …I invested 400.00 into a board and a mat….to tinker with while I stand and work. It’s called fluidstance…kind of a skate board looking object that you can move on while standing that forces you to use your balance. What the heck I thought I would give it a shot….I am so sick of sitting all day long while on the computer.

Now all that’s left for me to do is move my computer and office equipment in on the new desk and wa-la I will be ready to go.

Note: A bad thing today…the doctor said I gained a little over 3lbs back. Sheeesh….lucky me. Well I am back on the wagon so hopefully I will nick it in the buns before it goes any further.

Have a great weekend.

Joanna

Six o'clock here and already dark. For me when dark comes I get the feeling that the day is over and that we need to call it a night. Yet during the summer it stays light until just before 10pm and I am out and about until then. Strange what the sun can do to a person.

Thanks for the encouragement Court.

I need more will power. I told DH we need to get rid of the Halloween candy, we only had 4 kids...well, 3 kids and a grown up. I kept a stash of candy aside today. DH should have gotten rid of it yesterday. ugh!

Good luck Joanna on the motivation.

Anna, how's it going? How's the finger?

I just read an article on here how to get back your motivation .. twelve ways. I just need one....I fell off the wagon and I need that lift to get back on. I think I found it...and I am keeping my fingers crossed that I can stick to it. I don't want to get my expectations high, each time I do it just brings me down. I am going to take it a step at a time. Out in my real life and in here. Trying to keep up can get the better of me....and I then fall short. So taking it one day at a time is perfect right now. I am at the wagon...getting ready to get aboard.

Love this Michigan weather....last chance to enjoy it.
