Glad you liked the article Heather! I've found with people relying more and more on e-mail and with everybody thinking their issue has to be at the top of the priority list, it's getting harder and harder to get through a day without needless interruption. Notwithstanding true emergencies, there is very little that will cause a shattering catastrophe if it isn't taken care of "right now." I think my tendency is to think, "well, this will only take a second, I'll do this first, then I'll dig in to the bigger project." Problem is, you do enough of those "take a second" little things at once, and pretty soon your day is gone and you haven't touched the big project at all. Did you catch the suggestion of only checking your emails after lunch? OMG... that scares me! Mostly because I'm afraid if I don't look at them as they come in, I'll have a million to look at all at once and suddenly I've added another big project to my plate! Ack! I think I hate e-mail... j/k... but the article is right in that we do tend to let technology take over our lives.
You seem to have a good handle on your time. And now you want to add dance and horse shows to your plate! Well, it does sound like fun, and it has lots of meaning for you. I wish you good luck getting it all done! I think I need to aspire to what you do.
Tonight is my last Wills and Trusts class. Ever. OMG... the sheer volume of information. I'll be glad to be done with it. Then I have to finish the last of my big paper for Elder Law and prep for the finals in Wills and Accounting. I'm in the process of getting small study groups together for both of those; hopefully they won't be too bad.
I did okay yesterday with my eating, and I'm heading to be okay today too. I want to lose 10 lbs before I leave on vacation on the 9th. I feel fat and sloppy and out of shape. I know I should try to get in a few workouts, I'm just not motivated. Remember that orange shirt I bought last year? The one I had on in my last profile pic? Well, it's too tight now. Gotta get those pounds off!
