Just think we're all this busy right now and then the fun of the holidays start! So I'm going to have some fun. We're leaving on a 3 week cruise to Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, the Azores and across the Atlantic to Miami. I won't be on SP and I will be posting on Twitter @partners2002, if anyone wants to follow.
If any one is interested in photos to the pink ribbon float here's the link.
Boy everybody sounds like they are right on with life right now. What a great thing!
Heather, glad you had such a great time visiting "home;" my parents sold the house I grew up in over 20 years ago, so I don't get to do that anymore :-(
Toya! Great job on those straight As! Now pass some of that this way! I could use some too!
Kelly, glad you're feeling better, and I'll bet you're glad to have that filing out of the way! Now... how much back end work will there be?
Another busy weekend for Kourtney, so glad you're feeling good about your social life. And your volunteering too. It's so important to have those meaningful things in your life. I think too many people think all there is to life is making money... bummer And congrats on the weight loss! You're doing great!
Carol, I didn't know you were a photographer! On top of all your many other talents! It does sound like fun. How did you get that job? What do the resident senior students do for their pictures that the foreign exchange kids don't do the same thing? And weren't you supposed to be resting that foot?!?!
Wellll... I am sitting at home in the middle of the afternoon in my computer room in my underwear. Why? I went with my clinic class to another university not too far from here to talk to a bunch of undergrads about starting their own businesses and helping them put together operating agreements. It was LOTS of fun. Some of these kids are really sharp! And they had great ideas. Some others.... wellll... not so much. But... I had to drag out the big girl lawyer clothes and put on a suit and heels, on top of getting to school at a totally strange time for me. It took me almost an hour to find a parking spot and then I had to walk... in said heels... to meet my professor to drive to the class. Then he bought us lunch YUM! and then I went to move my car, and discovered... I had a TICKET! Are you serious? As much as I pay this university, they are giving me a ticket???? Turns out, I didn't realize I was parked in a residence hall parking lot. I took it to the parking office and got it waived because I've never had a ticket before, but by the time I got out of there I was so pissed off, I decided to just go home and relax a bit before class. So, off came the big girl clothes and here I sit. I'll throw on some jeans before class, but right now I need the downtime.
Saw my mother over the weekend, and she's really okay. She's all moved, and all they left her at the old house is one bedroom set. There's no food, TV, no dishes, not even a coffee cup. So if she does go back there, she's going to quickly discover it isn't worth the trip. That will save us the trouble of being the bad guy and telling her she shouldn't go. So that stress is done. Let's hope it lasts.
One hour, and then I get to register for my spring classes. This is insane. They do it by class rank and everybody all tries to log on and register at the same time so they don't get closed out of the classes they want. It bogs down the system, causes failures, and somebody always gets disappointed. I'm hoping I don't have any trouble with mine. I'm debating if I want to try to be back at school to do it, or if I should just do it from home and then leave. If I do it at home, I will have another parking issue when I go back for class. But it sure is nice and quiet here... very tempting! Oh well... will keep you posted....

Heather - I can't imagine getting ready at my parent's old house! I'm sure that took you back in time!
Toya - Woo hoo on the Online classes! I know I sure love taking classes at my own desk. I can't believe mid-terms are already upon you!
Kelly - It sounds like Rhode Island rules are like California. Man, anything close to the ocean here and you're pretty screwed when it comes to rules and regs.
Blondie - You are doing SO GREAT! Weight loss - check, friendships - check, balance in life - check. Woo hoo for you!
Taking senior pictures yesterday of seven foreign exchange kids was so much fun! They are a great bunch of kids and all but two were very photogenic...which is always helpful. One of the non-photogenic kids is a really good looking boy, but it's hard to make it transfer on film because when he smiles his face goes crooked (if that makes sense). He's a blond, mop-topped Belgium and he looks like a California kid. I hit it just right at the beach, so I was very, very pleased. The other troublesome kid happened to be mine, so we'll just go out again and take more pics. A couple of the ones I got of him are great pics, but not great for the year book. Now I just have to sort them, Photoshop them, print the ones I like and have them choose what they want. ...still a lot of work ahead.
I am in a fair amount of pain with my foot because of ignoring it yesterday. Ever try to walk in soft sand with only one working foot? Not really very fun... So, I'm trying my best to stay off of it today.

Heather - I'm glad you had fun at home! The house I grew up in looks SO different now b/c my parents have redecorated just about everything, so it's always strange for me to come home and see how different it is again. I hope you get lots of sleep tonight. :D
Toya - you sound like you're doing great!!! WTG!!!
Kelly - How is that new associate holding up? Glad to hear you're getting a little bit of down time. WTG on rockin' that regulatory filing on Friday! :D
Hi all! Sorry I was MIA all weekend. It was for good reasons, though, I promise. :D
Friday night I went out with book club people to see Jeffrey Eugenidies speak .It was ah-mazing. Then we went to a bar in the Mission afterwards, and that was super fun! We stayed out until past midnight and we're definitely hitting it off. :D I think one night when Mike is working late, I'm going to ask one of the girls if she'd like to watch a movie or something together. :D It was really really great to hang out with people by myself and make my own friends. :D We'll definitely see each other next Wednesday at book club, but possibly sooner too. :D
Saturday I volunteered in the morning and it went well. I'm really finding my niche there and that's been nice. We have a pumpkin day event next Saturday, with pumpkin carving, cupcake decorating, and trick or treating. :D I'm excited to help out with it. The rest of the day Saturday I was spectacularly unproductive.
Sunday I had knitting in the morning then we had an Iron Chef competition in the evening. It was a surprise for our friend Jordan and we all made dishes with the special ingredient (pumpkin). All the dishes were DELICIOUS and I'm sure I ate far too much. We made a veggie and tofu pumpkin curry and pumpkin hummus. NOMNOMNOM. And we won (but I think it's b/c we had Neil on our team and Jordan likes him LOL). I also got to meet my friend Leah's new girlfriend, Joy, and that was super fun. :D When we went grocery shopping for the Iron Chef competition, I also got a lot of fruits and vegetables for me to eat this week. It was fun packing my lunch today with so many colorful items. :D
This morning I rocked out some lower body weights. Hoo boy they were hard today. I'm doing lunch with a coworker and former coworker (who left for law school) and I'm excited about that. Then tonight I'm going to be productive in some fashion, hopefully doing some much needed laundry.
Thanks to getting some much needed sleep this weekend, the scale is finally behaving and I've lost another 1/2 pound. :D I now have a post-it that colorfully declares "40 1/2" on my desk. :D

I hate to say it, but I'm not going to even try to catch up on everyone's posts. Just know that I'm thinking about you all and hope you're doing well. We've hit a lull at work (I think) so hopefully I can keep up again in the coming days. I wrote a little catch up blog yesterday.
On Friday we filed a HUGE regulatory filing with the Dept. of Health. One of our clients is purchasing a hospital and that requires lots of regulator review. I'm fairly liberal and even I think Rhode Island has gone a little out of control with the regulatory process. But it keeps me busy, I guess. I've had a cold for almost a week, but I think it's on the way out. I don't really have a voice still, but at least I don't feel absolutely terrible.
Heather, so glad you had a nice weekend. That must have been surreal to be back in the same spot getting ready to go out.
Heather: glad to hear you had a good weekend! I hope you get the rest you need tonight so you can feel good and make it through you're busy week.
Hello all, I'm at midterms in this Fall semester. Doing well straight A's! Thank goodness because I've been putting in the work! I registered for Spring classes today and have a pretty sweet schedule. I'm taking four classes. Most all online so I won't have to deal with the bus to the campus but once a week, yay!!! I'm applying for a job at the same place I'm doing my student teaching and if I get it I'll be back to swimming. Until then I'll keep hitting the gym, playing Wii, walking and dancing.
Good Morning! I hope this Monday finds you all rested and ready for the new week. I'm kinda not rested because it was a busy travel kind of weekend, but it was fun and I'm glad I went. I saw some old friends, made some new ones, and had a nice visit with my parents. It was truly kind of strange at 44 years old to get ready to go out for the night in my old bathroom. I felt 17 again! Well, only kind of. It was so nice to see some of my old friends.
I've got a busy week on tap again with work, swimming, riding, and re-scheduled school pictures for my kid. Should be good, but wish I was a little less tired this morning! I'll have to get a good night's sleep tonight, and then I will be right as rain again.
Have a FUN and ACTIVE day!!!
