That is why I am concerned. I do not want to go back and so I am working to find a solution that will help my diabetes (blood glucose) and not cause me to gain weight. I must up exercise which is difficult as I have little free time.

I need to start really tracking food again and exercise. I also need to do some research on diabetes meds so I am prepared for my endo visit in a couple of weeks. I did better today by drinking more peppermint tea.

Plus I put a lot of extra energy into water aerobics. Shoulder was doing better too.

Work and perseverence will turn this around,

cindy

That is how I gained. I gained 60 pounds in a year and have been within 3 pounds of that 60 for the last 4 years. I hope you can come up with a workable solution with your doctors. I wasn't being mindful during that time and just allowed things to get out of control.

Good luck

For me in the last two weeks I have gained due to a medication that I had to start taking again. The side effect of the medication is that it triggers a hunger response in the brain and so all day you feel hungry. I think it must turn off the trigger that makes you feel satietated. I think I may stop taking the medication. I will definately talk with my doctor about it.

Girls if you are hungry your body is telling you to eat at this stage of the game. if you really think it is just head hungry ask yourself if you are hydrated. You absolutely can not put too many calories in your body if you had surgery within the last year unless you are not eating solid protein. This is coming from an old timer just getting back to it. I had By-pass in 01 lost 205 and regained 100. So I am going back to the pouch diet to lose weight.

and if you are out and about and on the run . 7-11 has become a good place to get a good snack not just crap. They sell hard boiled eggs, fruit and low fat cheese sticks.

I keep lots of tuna, salmon and smoked salmon in the foil packets around, they are quick and easy, can be eaten with crackers , veggies, put it on a salad.

Ind cans of tuna and chicken. Make sure that they are pop tops,I keep in the glove box. When I need a snack this helps as sometimes I don't have any extra cash for the week.

I don't know how you feel about imitation crab meat, but you can buy crab sticks that are packaged like the string cheese. I eat one of those with a string cheese and it makes an awesome snack! You can get them at Walmart for $1 for a pack of 4.

I adore cottage cheese. Sometimes i blend it smooth and add a packet of sugar free jello powder, blend it smooth with coco powder and splenda, eat it with fruit, eat it plain... yum yum yum!!

Wendy's chili is my friend. Not to mention, I get 2 meals out of a small, so that rocks!

Subway - you can get any sub made into a salad.

Peanut Butter is my friend too. Not only does it help with those "junky" cravings, but it is also very nutritious. I eat it straight from the spoon (that I have carefully measured)

Speaking of string cheese, a slice of Virginia Baked ham wrapped around one is more than awesome.

*I am going to go have my snack for the night now!*

Justins peanutbutter packets are good to keep in the car. Most healthfood stores, wholefoods, and other highend grocery stores usually carry them. You can add it to an apple, celery, or whatever else you want. I also keep some beef jerky in the car too (only for those who are out a year or more)! If at gas station then I would go for peanut butter crackers, fat free yogurt, or packet of cheese and an apple. I also review the menus at all fast food restaurants in my area so that I know what I can order if I need a meal quick. Example: McDonalds am - Egg McMuffin - eat the egg, cheese, and canadian bacon. McDonald pm - Plain hamburger or cheese burger without the bun (they serve it on lettuce with a tomato and pickle). I also go to subway and have them put my sandwich fixins in a cup instead of on bread! We need to learn to be creative!

Hard boiled eggs and cheese sticks are great snacks to have on hand. You could always go back on the protein drinks as well. Or just simply add some protein to oatmeal in the morning. Scrambled eggs with a little melted low fat cheese on top would be a great breakfast if you're still craving that. Turkey sausage on the side. Protien packed! Hope these ideas were of some help.

Hi,

I've been stuck in the same 6-7 pound range of 240-247 since about late April. I'm 8 months out from my gastric bypass on Oct. 5. I've lost 113 pounds since the week before surgery w the pre surg liquid diet. I've increased exercise to 4-6 days a week for the last 3 weeks but slowed down last week since being sick and also discouraged. I'm needing to go an exercise class shortly but craving a nice big breakfast of eggs n pancakes n such beforehand....wont get it but still need to eat something....help!

Thank you!
Also, any tips on protein rich snacks that can be bought or ordered and are comvenient to prepare or pre packaged?

God bless you
Tammie
