Congrats on your loss!
You want to be proud of your accomplishment and not hide it in baggy ill-fitting clothes. Reward youself with a nice outfit, one that fits and makes you feel good about yourself and your hard work to lose the weight! Maybe you could buy one nice dress?
I know my self esteem improved greatly when I started wearing clothes that fit and looked good on my body type. I dress for my body type and therefore people always assume I weigh less than I actually do.
Be proud of your accomplishment and step forward in clothes that fit your body size. You will look and feel smaller and more in control of your future. You do not have to go overboard. Maybe buy one nice dress and then some inexpensive cardegans or jackets from a thrift store or wallmart add some costume fashion jewelry or scarves and you will look stylish for a small amount of $$$. Thrift stores or consignment stores have some good finds so check them out. But the main thing is to always dress in clothes that fit as people will comment on how good you look and you will look smaller. Wearing baggy ill fitting clothes just makes you look like you weigh more than you actually do. I notice in some of the people I know who had surgery that those who are doing well are wearing clothes that fit well. Those who do not thing they are doing well are dressing sloppy in clothes much to big for them. A good friend of mine recently decided to follow what I was doing and she bought three outfits. Her mood was noticably energenic and she was so proud of how she looked. Her co-workers all started to complement her and her self esteem is so much better now. She bought a couple of necklaces and a scarf and and now is dressing in a happy confident manner. She walks taller and is not hiding in the corner of the room any longer. She has come into her own!
I no longer hide in my clothes like I did many years ago. I do not wear clothes that are too big or too small. If the clothes do not fit or the style does not flatter me, then I do not wear them. I take pride in looking my best. I dress nicely even to go to the gym to work out or a walk in the park. I wear accessories that make my outfits look stylish. I buy a few nice outfits and supplement with inexpensive tops or sweaters and add fun jewelry and scarves. Dressing up makes me feel good about how I look and I am proud of the work I have done losing my weight. I buy everything on sale (except pants as I am lucky to find a petite size at all) of at least 30%. I make sure that all my clothes work together to give me a variety of different outfits by simply mixing and matching my clothes. Most of my wardrobe was purchased for 50-75% off. I tend toward classic styles that will last for years. It took a while to find new stores and figure out where in the department store were styles that I liked. But after 2 years I am comfortable shopping. I go out and try on styles even if I have no intention of making a purchase. I used the experience to learn about my new body and to get comfortable with my new body. It was worth it.
Have fun and enjoy the experience of being able to shop in stores that you never could have shopped in when obese!
