Hope you get well soon and can get back to your gym. I'm going to ask my doctor for a referral for physical therapy---using a heated pool. It is about 25 mi. from my home and involves a toll bridge ($3.00)but it will be worth it!

Back issues can be...well be a pain..for lack of a better word...lol I like that you are still getting up, staying with that routine...something I am not sure I would do so YEAH!!! for you. I have no idea what you are eaatting for those kind of calories but maybe you can find different ideas from the group on that front. At any rate I think you are doing wonderful!!

Laureen, Ask the doc about water walking using the webbed hand resistance gloves. It relieves the pressure on the back and provides resistance as you walk. I was able to do that after I herniated my L3-4 disc. I still do water aerobics as it is less stressful on my joints. I make adaptations to some exercises to protect my joints. I worked this out with my specialists and physical therapists so that I get the most from my water aerobics classes!

Unfortunately, the part of my back that is affected seems to radiate in such a fashion as to make anything more than stretching possible, even walking is painful; for now I am hoping I can get back to my own gym, a place I am very comfortable and is $30 cheaper than either the Y or a gym membership with a pool. I am hoping that once I see a specialist, if he feels a pool will be beneficial that it will be covered with my benefits. So we'll see.

I like that you are anticipating and planning on getting back into your routine now. It means you are continuing to take control of yoru life. Is there something else you can do that perhaps involves movement apart from your back issues? Just wondering. Hate those back pains!!!
I've been struggling lately, due to the issues I've had with my back, which is keeping me from my regular gym workouts and therefore causing havoc with my scale and on most days my caloric intake is at 1400 to 1500, I'm working on getting it down under 1200, but it is hard to do. Hopefully, I will be back in the gym soon, I miss my daily routine and am still getting up every day as though I am going to the gym, so as to be ready when I can get back to it.
