Nope, I don't want to become obsessed with numbers. I was only weighing myself when my clothes fit differently. Now that I am getting on track and really focused I'll weigh myself once a week just to keep structure and stay on track. Weekly will work best for me.

We may encounter many defeats but we must not be defeated.

I weigh in weekly at my Weight Watchers Meeting. Sometimes I weigh myself every few days to make sure I am going in the right direction. I try not to because I get obessed with the numbers.

I weigh myself every morning with no clothes on so I get right numbers. Some feel it's another ahold thing to weigh yourself everyday but I have lost 50 lbs doing this everyday except when I am away from home and there's no scale. emoticon

I never weigh ... until I put on an article of clothing and it is loose, baggy or falls off.
My ticker changed when I went to the doctor and the nurse forced me on the scale. I try to to better (simply for the sake of being able to make my tracker move) but don't even own a scale.

When I do a run in the fitness center I try to remember to jump on, but I am REALLY bad about that.

I weigh myself daily. Its not a negative obsession but it is an obsession. Mostly I'm looking for gains and a little increase says to me "Whatever you did yesterday you better not do it today or you you will have another gain." It helps me with my daily checklist - water, veggie, fruit, lean protein, low carbs.

Now that I'm loosing a lot of weight, I weigh myself twice daily, morning and night. It does become obsessive and sometines it's good to walk away from the scale and regroup. It's easy to become obsessed with numbers. Taking other body measurements weekly helps offset some of the scale frenzy, I've found. Just stay encoraged and focused and the rest will fall in place. best of luck to all.

I'm down 20 pounds in 28 days!

Giving praise!!!!

I don't weigh myself daily unless I see a weight gain during my weekly weigh-ins. Than says to me that I am off track and I use the daily weigh-ins to keep me back on track. This is definitely a journey and a change if lifestyle emoticon !

Too disappointing to weigh myself daily, some days I'd lose, the next gain, and so on., so I decided to weigh only once/wk., working so far, thank God!:)

I no longer weigh myself daily... In the past, I found that it would affect my productive for that day. If one day it said I lost, I would work harder. But the smallest gain would upset me and sometimes I would eat more or be less motivated to workout. I find that it works better for me to weigh-in once/twice a week. I like to weigh-in on Fridays (help me get over the weekend) then again on Monday. I only record Monday's weigh-in.

I have been weighing in almost daily, but I'm really not so much worried about losing a number of pounds as I am with the way I look and feel. Scale says 5 lbs lost but I dont see any difference yet. Its a nice way to give me an idea things are paying off even though I dont see any difference yet.

I don't if have fallen off too much but I will be back weighing myself every Tues and Friday. That used to be my schedule.

Yes I weigh myself daily. Mainly because of this new diet I'm on. I use to weigh myself once a week. I find that by weighing myself daily and writing down what I eat I will have immediate feedback for my eating decisions.

I weigh in monthly too!! It causes me to be EVER so cautious of my eating & workout sessions. Plus seeing my hard work add up over time really motivates me. It hasn't failed me yet.

I personally don't think its a good idea to weigh in daily because your body fluctuates throughout the day.

But everyone has to find what works for them!!!!

I don't. I weigh once a month... or when I notice a physical change.

Partly because I don't have a scale in my house, partly because I care more about how I look and feel that how much I weigh and partly because I like to be "surprised" when I put on something and it fits too loose of falls off!

I have enough frustrations in my life without adding to it worries about why I was up one pound this week or why the scaled didn't move.

Once a week! But is is frustrating sometime, because I will weigh myself on three different scales that day and none of them match, so I'm not really sure about the weight loss sometime, but I use my clothing as a guage and usually can tell if I've lost inches.

No. Currently I don't have a working scale. I'm thinking of keeping it that way for a while to help me resist the temptations of constantly weighing myself, I know it can potentially lead to let-downs or frustrations. I have the ability to weigh in other places just to check in, otherwise right now I'm going for other measures of success.

I do weigh myself just about every day, but it is more of a game than for gratification.

When I get on the scale I am using as a tool to help me to see where I am, if I am staying on track. If the number is higher I look at what I have been doing and if I need to re-evaluate my eating. If it is lower great (but I don't actually claim the weight loss until I get the reading more than once.) If the number is the same I look in the mirror, I pay attention to how my clothes are fitting, because I realize that lots of things impact what the scale is saying.

I try hard not to weigh mysel everyday. I rely on Tuesdays as my "official" weigh in day. I don't like my reaction when I weigh in more often. If I am up, I want to celebrate with food. I am down, I want to celebrate with food. Hence, the need for one day officially.

OMG! If I did that everyday then I'd drive myself crazy. In the past I would get discouraged whether I had good numbers on the scale or not because either way it added pressure. If I had gained 5 or 10 pounds, I wanted to hide from the world. And I haven't had what you would call a low reading in a while so I sort of forget how it feels! Hence why I'm here :)

No-- once a week on Monday mornings.
My weight fluctuates too much day to day. It would drive me crazy to see those numbers every day!

nope! i used to over the summer, then i became compulsive with it. weighing after i ate, first thing in the morning, etc. it was too much. i moved and made a point of NOT buying one. now, when i weigh its when i have opportunity and its a surprise.
i went to visit my mom this weekend, and found out i had lost 4 lbs and didnt know! (i hadnt weighed in a few weeks)

Just a bit further...

I'd gained quite a bit of weight and was avoiding the scale but now that I'm back on track I find myself weighing myself more now, not everyday but definately a few times a week. I find that it keeps me honest and on track. Or it make me sad and miserable, I guess it depends on what day it is. LOL

Yes I weigh in every single day. I don't think I should but it has become such a habit I cant leave the house in the morning without weighing in. If you don't weigh daily PLEESE DON'T START.

Motivation is what gets me started. Habit is what keep me going.

It depends. Some weeks I weigh daily some weeks I don't. I use the daily weigh-ins to determine what i need to do that day. I don't think that the affect my moods. I know that when I get on the scale I weigh less than what I weighed this time last year. It helps me to evaluate where I am and where I want to be.

What GOD has for me it is for me.

I used to be in the habit of weighing myself daily. It had actually become a part of my daily routine. But I learned that the weight fluctuation affected my behavior, weight loss happy, weight gain I would be down. So a weekly weigh in is best for me, I have a better picture if I am losing or gaining since my weight fluctuates so much day to day.

Yes. I read that weighing oneself more frequently will help to stay on target. I even track it on a graph that I have taped up in the bathroom so I can see the trend line going DOwn Down down..... emoticon

I don't. I find its better to take measurements which I try not to do more than every two weeks. Right now I'm in a building muscle phase so the scale isn't cooperating although other measurements are showing progress.

There's a difference between interest and committment. When you're interested in something, you do it only when its convenient. When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses, only results.
