We just use rechargeable batteries. The (common, regular) energizer ones aren't that good, but work ok in wiimotes as wiimotes don't take as much battery as a camera would. But really good rechargeables are "eneloop" and Rayovac (has "platinum" on the side as well)--any rechargeable that says "precharged" on the package is part of these better batteries and are even strong enough to use in cameras.
My hubby bought me one of those flat ones that u just lay the remotes on it seemed to work better then the one you place the remotes in. I still use both just so we have extra just in case. Good Luck HUGS

I'm planning on buying a new charger with new batteries (we've been wanting a 4 remote charger instead of the 2, 2 remote chargers that we have and this finally gives us a reason to get one without feeling like we are wasting our money....), but I feel bad because I haven't been able to participate. Hopefully, that fixes our issues and I'll be participating next week!!!
