Glad you picked up EA Active. Love that game. When I was doing that at least 5 times a week, I saw a difference. I just recently bought the Wii Zumba game and it is definitely a workout as well. The menu system on the game is kind of wacky though. Lots of fun.

I also have a gym membership so I try to alternate between the games and the gym since I have a long work day and sometimes I just can't drag my butt to the gym, so I do the active games.

Thanks for all the input. I have decided to go with the EA Active game. I need to get going on my strength training so it is probably the best option at this time. I will save up for the ZUMBA DVD set for a future purchase. To bad I didn't have the cash to pick up the Amazon.com Deal of the day. It still looks like a lot of fun! Maybe I will put the bug out there to the family for my Birthday next month! emoticon

I have EA Active: More workouts and it really kicked my butt. I've used it once and decided I'm not quite ready for that much strength training. lol

I do like it, though. I've never done the Zumba, but I've been looking at it.

Is this crazy or what?

The Zumba DVDs (Zumba Fitness Total Body Transformation System DVD Set) is the Gold Box Deal of the Day on Amazon.com today -- $49.99 while supplies last. (Regularly $65, $70 on the informercials.)

Here is the link:
www.amazon.com/Zumba-Fitness-Total-Transfo
rmation-System/dp/B002HZ4XMC

(If, for some reason, it doesn't show up at the price, go to Amazon's home page and at the top, click "Today's Deals" with the little gold treasure chest next to it.)

Thanks for that comparison. I watched the infomercial for Zumba a little while ago and that is what got me thinking it would be a good exercise to try. Knowing the Wii version isn't as good as the DVD set makes me think I will go with the EA Active for the Wii and maybe save up for the Zumba DVD Set. Thanks to all for your input it is very helpful!

Zumba.com's website features DVDs that are made by the creator of the dance. I have both Wii Zumba and the set from Zumba.com and I prefer the latter. The Wii Zumba doesn't really track your movements, doesn't give you enough time to learn the steps before going onto the next one. Check Amazon.com for reviews.

I just tried Zumba for the first time this week. I have all of the dancing games (Just Dance 1 and 2, Dance on Broadway, Michael Jackson Experience and Gold's Gym Dance Workout) and while I liked Zumba, it is definately not my favorite. I love the EA Active games though. My only complaint about EA Active and EA Active workouts is that the leg strap is kind of annoying. With EA Active, I wind up doing the activities that don't require the leg strap, but it's still enough to make the game worthwhile.

Thanks so much for your input. I think that is part of the difficulty for me. I know I need more ST as most of my workouts are cardio. So EA Active would be better in that regard, but I just like to move when I exercise so dancing is great. Hmmm....maybe I can talk them into getting me BOTH! emoticon

Wonder if Game Stop or a place like that would have used copies for sale....

Zumba is primarily cardio, while EASA is more balanced (cardio and ST). Is there one that you need more than the other? As for me personally, I would probably pick EASA; I've played the first two and enjoyed them (I am not good at getting in my ST, but I get tons of cardio) and lost about 10 pounds the first time I did the 30 Day Challenge. That and I have zero coordination which makes Zumba really, really hard for me. I do know that EASA does have some pausing, which you don't like, but like I said, since it's primarily ST-based, it's somewhat of a necessity between reps anyway.

I do know that both of them have been $30 on Amazon.com within the last month, so if you're willing to play the price watching game, you can get them more cheaply than they are currently offered. I try to post Amazon.com sales that I come across on the forum.

Whichever one you choose will be a good addition to your workout library.

Edit: Just saw they were Mother's Day gifts. Then pick the one you want :)

HELP!! These are the two games I am down to deciding between. My family has informed me they want to get me a new game for Mothers day. I am excited.

I like Just Dance 2 so I thought Zumba would be awesome. Then EA Active came up and that one sounds like it would be great too. If you had to choose between them which one would you choose and why? And would those that have these games tell me if they use them and like them. I have to make a decision soon and want to make sure I get the one that would do me the most good. I prefer one that doesn't have a lot of wait time (it's the one thing about Just Dance 2 that I find annoying - I just put it on shuffle and go but even that has a wait between songs just not quite as long). Any input you can give me would be appreciated. emoticon
