The Wii is definately great for exercise, especially if its hard for you to get to the gym. When I was first getting back into having a workout routine, I played Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort. Now, I like EA Active, Golds Gym Dance Workout and Just Dance/Just Dance 2/Dance on Broadway/The Michael Jackson Experience.
My husband and I bought the Wii for our big Christmas present. We love it! We have been doing the bowling for exercise and fun. My husband does the tennis. The sports package that comes with the Wii is a lot of fun exercise. I know you will love it! GOD BLESS! Louise
We got the Wii a couple of years ago and everyone in our family uses it. I use it for exercise. My kids also have some regular games but they also use it for exercise also. Its so much fun. We love it!!

Yes, you can use the Wii for exercise! Check out the recent threads about best Wii games for calories burned and things like that; lots of good suggestions there! EA Sports Active is great for a true fitness experience.
You will need to buy extra remotes and nunchuks for the family; there are some remotes made especially for young kids that are easier to control (and more fun looking, haha). Other than that, just pick up the console; it comes with everything else that you need.

Hi everyone! My husband and I are thinking of purchasing a wii in the next few months. We don't have any type of gaming equipment and have never even tried the wii. I have heard good things about it and am hoping it is something that the whole family could use (we have preschoolers). My husband and I are mainly interested in it as a fun form of exercise and as a way to have a bit of motivating competition. Can anyone offer advise about what exactly to buy, or give me an opinion as to what games are the best, and if it can really be used for exercise or if it's mostly just for fun? I'd appreciate any advice/opinions you have. Thanks.
