I think you mean Wii Sports, not EA Sports Active.
Wii Sports is the game that comes with the console that contains tennis, bowling, golf, baseball, and boxing.
EA Sports Active (EASA) has the 30 Day Challenge and contains the leg strap and the resistance bands for a full body exercise. That one is a really awesome workout and got me back into fitness.
Wii Sports Resort is the sequel to Wii Sports. It got rid of baseball and boxing, substituted table tennis for regular tennis, and expanded upon golf and bowling. It also added archery, skydiving, canoeing, biking, frisbee, sword fighting, etc.
I think all games are what you make of it, but I know what you mean about Wii Sports Resort not really giving you a workout. Some of them are just fun, like archery, and won't really burn any calories. Although the canoeing and biking can really kick your butt!
