You can also look at calorieking.com and DWLZ.com and find some restaurant calorie information.

In the absolute worst-case scenario, when it comes to getting dishes that don't have any find-able calorie nutrition- I either find a similar dish somewhere else (I find I do this with drinks a lot), or I reverse-engineer the meal in my head, since I pay attention to what the ingredients were/are. The only problem with that is hidden fats like butters and spreads that I may not know the whole story to, but I rarely order anything that might have spreads or sauces these days.

thanks guys! Sometimes it is a little hard since a restaurant might not have a website with nutrition info. sounds like good ideas though. I just don't want to like eat something that isn't the best for me and make a guess of what it might be...like give myself less calories then i should...but those are good ideas to check out!! thank you :)

I try looking up the restaurants pages first to see if they have anything listed, if not then I go to google and plug in something like *restaurants name* nutrition (or calories). If that doesnt work, then I try putting in the name of the dish itself and see if anything comes up for a similar restaurant. If that doesnt work...which more or less happened for me the other weekend, we went to a mexican restaurant and tried new things, doing best guess to add each item seperately.

Ideally though, I throw my opinion towards restaurants I know have info online. A staple for us is Red Robin, while maynot be the healhiest of choices, their website is great with letting you play around with the data, adding and subtracting individual ingrediants and sides to get the nutritional value of your actual meal.

This might be totally NOT what you're looking for but this website gives you some good info. It tracks carbs, fat grams, calories, etc. However, you have to look up each individual food item. I think it's a good overall website to have.

So I have a question...
When I keep track of food I try to eat things where I know the nutrition info. My bf and I went to dinner last night. I was trying to research an idea of what I ate. I look here in the search and go to the dailyplate.com. Does anyone else use some other tool to try and get as close as you can of an idea of nutrition info that isn't "actually" there?
