Samba De Amigo also has the option of having two wiimotes instead of a wiimote and nunchuck--but offer it both ways so that you can play 4 player (which requires 1 wiimote per person).
Humm...I hadn't thought about it having a delay, but it makes since--since it has to communicate wirelessly to the wiimote and then again to the console. That might be why Nintendo bypassed that idea.
Also, might have passed since they were trying to simplify the hardware (not having to have to include the bluetooth technology in the nunchucks) and/or save batteries.
While many people complain at times of "why does Nintendo do it this way?" I find that there are many practical reasons that it wasn't done that way by them, although not always easy to figure out. Then again, maybe I'm just a Nintendo "fanboy"...lol.
