I do agree with you about the wii board always registering every step we take. I do notice tho that if I have my board forward enough and then step back almost to our couch, the steps seems to be measured just right..maybe try that one...
Hey, I am one determined ole gal here and I am not going to give in to this arthrits and other such things they say I have....I want to know what I have, then I will except it and go on and do the best of my ability....Merri

Yay for you! I don't know how you do it... I'm sore the next morning from playing those games... let alone have a back injury, too. I have to admit, you are very dedicated!!!
I tried the expert tight rope last night... I just can't do it. I think the furthest I got was 28 yards... I will be trying again tonight, though. I've come to LOVE the ski jump!!! I beat my husbands high score last night! Yay... and also, the Zen pose (where you sit straight on the balance board... I got a perfect on that last night!!! However, I cannot get a perfect on the step aerobics... I can't even come close. I really don't think my balance board is registering everything like it should.
Oh well! enjoy your day!

Well, Today after I got done with my water therapy and came home and tried bowling from a chair with not alot of success. So then why not try tennis then? So I put the kitchen chair back wards so my lower back was forward more and I had the chair to support me...SUCCESS!! Hey, I do have to say I am darn good at it too...don't ever tell me I can't at least try something once..LOL Merri

PERFECT SCORE?!?! Good for you!!! I can't get a perfect on the regular one!!! Although I think I'm stepping slow enough, it tells me that I'm only doing "ok"... I will have to try harder... Sometimes I think it doesn't always pick up on my steps...
Good luck and I hope your back feels better soon!

Thank you for your most welcome concern. The tight rope doesn't seem to hurt my back tho....
I just can't give all of this up!! The PT in the pool told me this morning to sit and bowl. I did do my stepper on the advanced one today and got a perfect score!!!! First time for me...Merri

Merri, I just want to suggest that if your doctor recommends not using your Wii Fit then it would be in your best interest to take his advice. The sooner you heal, the sooner you can use it in full force! :-)
I tried the Tight Rope on Expert last night... I made it 23 yards... that wind is dangerous!!! haha. Maybe I'll just work on better scores on Advanced before continuing on to Expert... :-) I do love the tight rope, though! Next to step aerobics, it may very well be my favorite!

I have made it across the advanced tight rope now I think at least 4 times for sure.. I am now at 35.68 for my highest score.
My Dr said my back to too bad right now for bowling and tennis so I have been trying to do the board games more...I can do the advanced stepping tho and have gotten 658 on there..
Hey, these Drs just can't take this Wii board away from me now that I love it so much!!!!
I might even try to bowl as I sit in a chair and see if that will work too...
I have to wear my tens unit most of the day now as they are trying to get me off of Darvacette as my stomach tens to get ulcers so fast...
Do any of you have any other suggestions that I can do on the Wii board that won't be too hard on my back? Merri

I have not made it across the tight rope yet. I seem to have the same issues as everyone else with the chomper guy!
But, I just have to comment on everyones Wii Cats... haha. I have a Wii husky and boy does he love to give kisses during strength training exercises like the jackknife sit-ups. As cute as it is, it really can be a bother sometimes. You have to love your Wii pets, though!

I just got the wireless attachment for the nunchuck. it's great. It's so much easier to do the boxing without the wire, oxygen line or not.

It is very hard to sit. I don't always get all the way to the end. I have to use oxygen when exercising and I think sometimes it picks up on the movement of that and cuts me off. Then, of course, there's my wonderful kitty cats who think they need to "help" momma when she's working out! LOL

The Tightrope is a great one to improve balance and concentration. Concentration is part of the game, if you loose concentration, you most likely will loose your balance.
Have any of you done the Zen sitting? That is one where you sit with your legs crossed on the board (or uncrossed if you can't do it crossed) and just sit as still as you can for 3 minutes. It's great just to sit and get your center and focus back.
Make it a good day,
Gini

I've found that you do not need to lift your foot all the way. I teeter too much when I do that. I finally made it when I took smaller steps. Good Luck all! CB5

I have to admit, tight rope is probably my least favorite balance game. I've succeeded a few times but man alive does it require some SERIOUS concentration. Maybe I should do it more often

oops, I think I should have added: "make sure that you "jump" straight up--if you're on one foot more than the other, you could go sideways and fall, too".

okay--first go slow, and leave both your feet on the board, do more shifting your weight than really walking.
Second, the little chomper (or whatever you want to call it, I don't know what it's called)...anyway, it moves towards you (very slowly). So when you see you/it getting close, stop trying to walk and work on getting your mii to stand straight up (not leaning to one side or the other).
Then bend your knees and wait for it to get close enough to jump. When it's close enough, straighten your legs like you are jumping--BUT DO NOT let your feet leave the board--even the slightest off the board can sometimes cause the game to give a "no jumping on the board" warning--and then it restarts the level!!
Then continue to the other side as with the beginning.
As for leaning too far to one side--just lean back to the other until it straightens up--don't worry about stepping it the Mii is leaning too far, just get straightened up.

My husband does that. I consider it cheating lol... but it IS a lot easier to keep balance on the tight rope if you don't walk on the wii board but do that instead. Like a TON easier.

Take your time is the best advice I can give.
Also, you don't have to actually "walk". You can just kind of shift your weight to move instead of picking up your feet.

My husband got to expert on this within the first day of trying. I finally got to advanced after MANY MANY days!! LOL. You need to bend your knees when it says to bend your knees (atleast mine does) and then extend your legs straight so your character will jump over them. But you got to make sure when you do that that you're walking straight on the rope or you'll fly off ;)

Eeee gad! The tightrope is the one balance exercise that I can't do either. I've been able to jump over the little bitey guy (squat and straighten up quickly to "jump"), but then somewhere along the way I always lose my balance and fall off ...
