1. Wii system comes with "Wii Sports"--which is one game disc that includes golf, bowling, tennis, baseball, and boxing (which requires a nunchuck attachment as well as the "Wiimote" (Wii remote--a fan started name)--I think the system comes with one Wiimote and no nunchuck attachments.
2. Wii Sports will give you some cardio workout...as long as you keep moving with it (some of them, like bowling, has score cards in between the turns).
3. Other ways to do cardio on the Wii...DDR (dance dance revolution) Hottest Party is a game on the Wii. You use a "dance pad" that you lay on the floor and has 4 arrows (up, down, left, right) that you "dance" on. It even figures calories burned based on weight entered in the system and how many steps you took (not what steps you actually did right).
Another game is the Wii Fit. If you can find it, right now it does come with both the game and the Wii Fit Board. Someday, they'll probably be sold separately, but I doubt that will happen any time soon. Wii Fit is the game itself, the Balance Board is like another kind of controller.
Other suggestions: There are lots of other games to choose from that will get you moving, although maybe not quite in the cardio direction. Like Mario Kart--it's a lot of fun. Definitely go for the official Nintendo wheels if you want one, they're weighted to help it feel more like a real steering wheel--the Wheel is only there for feel, the controller just fits into it, but it definitely helps. It's also an easy to control game. I got a car game that came out when the Wii was released and never play it because I can't use it...it's way to sensitive, but Mario Kart is perfect and easy to use and a lot more fun that realistic racing games...where else can you through shells and bananas at other karts?
