Sounds like a good idea. This week I've started some cardio. I haven't really worked out in the last year. So I've been rotating between the exercise bike one day, and then the next day doing the eliptical. I do about 45 minutes a day. I'm not sure if I could or want to give 2 hours a day. So far so good. I'll probably start doing about an hour a day since 45 minutes has been going good so far.

So I worked out yesterday, day 3 for 1.5 hours because I had to go to work early. Now I'm three days in and finding myself very tired. but since my schedule does not allow for me to work out on Friday or Saturday I am stuck really not being able to break it up a bit. So here is what I am thinking; finish my work out this week and restructure for 1.5 hours in a day with 1 hour being cardio for a couple weeks until I have built up then going back to 2 hours.
I have to say I feel like I would be failing at this if I do this, but at the same time I really didn't prep and just went into it.
Is it a big deal to back off for a week or two and build up to the 2 hours?
anyway its a great work out and feeling, just really tired. also hungry all the time!

hey, sounds like your going great! Ive lost 65 before joining spark people. for me to be able to maintain the work out for this long I have broken down my work out into 15 minute segments. 15 cardio (eliptical, tredmill, what ever) then one muscle exercise at a weight I can do 30 reps, then 15 minutes of cardio (I try and change it up every 15 minutes, but I will use them over again.) and basically follow that structure until the 2 hours is up.
15/1
15/1
15/1
15/1
15/1
15/1
and i give myself a water break at each making it about 5 minutes with the muscle exercise.

its tough, day two done! another 2 hours complete... hopefully I will be ablet o do this again tomorrow :P

good luck!

You can definitely do it. I was about 235 at this time of the year last year. By July 20 (my bday) I was 190 something and that was without working out at all. What kind of cardio are you doing for an hour and a half? It's been a year and I still haven't really done a workout routine and want to get into shape now that I've lost 70 pounds since last year and 90 in total.

day one down, did it! it was long, not to bad today just a little pain in my upper back. very tired though. also Im not sure if I am supposed to be burning more than I am eating, yesterday I only had about 1500 calories which is low for me anyway but I burned according to sp, 1600 calories. I know for the first week or so I will be hungry because I went from about 3k a day to 1500-1800 should I be careful with that?
day 1 down, 16 weeks to go :)

Hey all, so I just got out of school this past week and partied like crazy this weekend. mostly in celebration of being done for a few months but also because tomorrow morning I start my summer work out challenge.
What I'm doing:
I have created a menu for myself as well as an intense 5 day a week work out plan.
I am going to do 1.5 hours of cardio and 30 minutes weights 5 days a week. This is going to be tough, I have a work out partner and I really want to do this so that I can get closer to my goal weight for my birthday in July.
I'm going to need everyone's help to stick with this, you all are motivation, your encouragement helps me on those days I don't want to do this.
Have a great and healthy summer!
