So I tried it,my running was a bit slow, 18 minutes pushups 33 in 2 minutes sit ups 50 in 2 minutes 300 meter sprint in 2.5 minutes (need to work on)

If he's not there yet, then he's got some work ahead of him.
I could pass every bit of that except for the 300m sprint right now-I know I can get a 400m in 2:00, but I'm not sure about the 80 second mark.
No weight lifting standards then? I know for us (EMS) we have to be able to lift at least 135, and 175 is recommended.

Happy 2009 Everyone! I hope and wish everyone is having a great year so far and that eveyone is reaching their goals.
Just a little update on my PT Test, the upper managment has push it back another 2 months. So that gives me more time to crush this test! So far I am doing great on my training for it! I have even lost some weight to help me in my run! Well eveyone have a great and safe Spark day!

Merry Christmas everyone!
Just a litte update on my challenge. I feel back a little bit.
Today I did the mile and half on the treadmill in 23 mins. I really wasn't feelin it today but I jog and walk. I guess something is better than nothing.
Still doing ok on the pushups and situps, still not bold enough to try the sprint yet.

Hmmmm. After tracking how far I ran today and the time I did it in, it looks like I already passed the 1.5 miles in 17.5 minutes bit. I did it in 15 (or close to it) as I ran 2.7 miles in 27 minutes...so 10 minute miles.
Not bad considering it was my first go in who knows how long and that I was pushing my 3 year old in a jogger. 'Course in the back of my head I'm thinking about how 18 years ago I was doing 6.5 to 7 minute miles over 3 miles, so 10 sucks. Oh, and my thighs have been killing me all day!
I already can do the pushups and situps in the time alotted. Haven't tried the sprint. I'll have to get to the track and time it out.

I'm gonna have to think about this one. I HATE running, though I actually had to do it for the first time in forever today, since my skates are broken.
Wow. I think that's a great thing for you to be required to do...especially those who are in the field or dealing with those whom they might have to chase down. I have a friend who's a cop and they are half-heartedly encouraged to exercise it seems. My local sheriff's department, if they didn't have good cars and radios would be panting within a minute.
Another friend is trying to get into the FBI and they have the same exercises to do, but with a much tighter time limit (i.e. 300 meter sprint in less than 54 sec. and 1.5 miles in like 12' or less).
I'll be interested in your daily posting and encourage you to do so. Too bad there's no bonus for shredding the test...is there? Let us know!

I am starting up a PT challenge for myself and if any one likes to join, you are more than welcome. As you all may or may not know I am a Police officer and come this February 09. The upper management has mandated that all officers are required to take a PT Test.
1. Run 1.5 miles (2.41 km) -in 17:30 minutes. 2. Execute 21 push-ups -in 2 minutes. 3. Execute 29 sit-ups -in 2 minutes. 4. Sprint 300m -in 81 seconds.
So I am training myself to get myself into shape. I am going to try to do this every day, or do my best every day. I know I am going to start off slow and work my way up, if any one likes to join, feel free to tag along. I will be posting every day on my progress. See you all around!
