Many people saw God's star that night. Many people saw God's gift too. The shepherds came to see Jesus. He was the Savior the angels had talked about. The wise men came to see Jesus too. He was the King they had come looking for.
We can look for Jesus too. And we can give HIm a gift . We can give Him the gift of our hearts. We can be happy that God showed us His love through Jesus. We can rejoice! Christ the Savior is born!!!

That night God gave the world a wonderful gift. God's son was born in a stable in Bethlehem. Mary and Joseph named Him Jesus. Mary wrapped Jesus up & put HIm in the manager.

A wooden manger filled with hay was in the middle of the stable. The animals used the manger as their feeding place.

A cow lay on the floor looking at everyone. It mooed softly when it saw Mary and Joseph.

The innkeeper's animals were in the stable too. The donkey stood near the door waiting for food.

Why was Jesus born in a manger?
So many times we look at our circumstances. We concentrate on how we feel. As we do this our focus is not placed on God. Often people fail to not concentrate on how much bigger He is than any problem that we face.
It was God's plan for Jesus to be born in such a humble place. Our king was born in a smelly manager, yet it was God's glorious plan. Many times things happen to us which cause pain, and we don't understand why they are happening to us. Yet, it is very important to remember that God's plan is always better than anything we could create. It is during such times we should remember it says in the bible God makes good out of everything. God makes good out of every circumstance that we face. That very sentence brought me comfort for a long during duration of time last year. There have been many times I have been suffering in my life, and as I turned it over to Jesus He made such goodness out if it. I turn things oveer to Jesus by praying through any circumstance I face. I ask God to help me to see the treasure in my trail. I ask Him questions about what He wants me to do, how He wants me to act, and what I need to lern from this. I ask God to help me do something, that through this circumstance He helps me to grow closer to Him, and I ask Jesus for HIs grace.
I believe that God had a perfect plan why His only son was be born in a smelly filthy manager. It has been written that Mary and Joseph had traveled a journey last would have taken them about 12 days. I have never been pregnant, but i know I would not even want to spend more than an hour in a car when I was 9 months pregnant, much less travel by donkey as Mary did. What did it feel like for them to be traveling day after day? Did they question God that last day of their journey? Did they feel sorry for themselves after they head that after traveling so long, and for so far that the only place they had to stay was in a manager?
I looked up why Jesus was born in a manger and this is what i found:
"Many know that Micah prophesied that the Messiah would be born in Bethlehem... God arranged for Joseph and Mary to be in Bethlehem in response to the Roman census." But Bethlehem, and why in a manger? “During lambing season the sheep were brought there from the fields, as the lower level functioned as the birthing room for sacrificial lambs. Priestly shepherds “would wrap the newborn lambs in swaddling clothes” and place them in a manger “until they calmed down” to keep them “without defect”, suitable to be sacrificial lambs for the sin of the Israelites. Bethlehem was special because the shepherds in the fields of Bethlehem raised lambs for the Jewish temple in Jerusalem. The shepherds who heard the angelic choir and came to see the baby Jesus were certainly familiar with the technique to birth a sacrificial lamb, and were likely puzzled by why a baby was birthed in the manner and location of a sacrificial lamb. In fact the angels did not have to tell the shepherds precisely where to go in Bethlehem to find Jesus, because there was only one manger where sacrificial lambs were birthed, the cave under the watch tower of Migdal Edar.5 With hindsight we can clearly see that the manner of Jesus’ birth foreshadowed the purpose for Jesus coming into the world: John 1:29 “The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” 1 Peter 1:18-20 For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake.
Before Jesus had taken his first breath God had decided that his life was to be given as a sacrifice to pay the penalty for our sins. God testified to his intent by having Jesus be born in the manner and location of the sacrificial lambs of the temple just as the prophet Micah proclaimed.
Mary & Joseph had to come to Bethlehem to pay their taxes too. Mary was about to have a baby. The innkeeper told Joseph that the inn was full. He said that Mary and Joseph could sleep in the stable.

Through your Holy Spirit you tell us your will, you help us find the treasures of life through excepting your will, and doing your will. God always help us to remember it is through your Spirit which directs us, your light is a path for our feet to follow.

LORD, I pray in agreement with my new-found sister. As I grow with You, I see more and more that You were there, comforting and protecting me, even though I didn't know You. Even when I was in outright rebellion, You were there, coaxing me back, giving me the option to call to You, even though I didn't know I was doing it. Baruch atah Adonai! All Praise, Honor and Glory to You, LORD. In Jesus Name, Amen.

I am glad that you are maintaining the Nativity Calendar. I like the days that mention the angels: joy angel, harp angel, trumpet angel. I know they each felt excited about the message that brought to earth. Glory to God in the Highest!

Dear God you bring all kinds of things into our lives that were meant to bring us joy. Let is not become too busy to see all the things which you have brought into this world that were meant for peace, joy, and love. Let us not become too weary or uncaring to tell you thank you for each thing you have given us to bring us hope, care, and purpose. I want you to know that I treasure each thing which you have brought into my life. Yes, the good and the bad. My childhood, everything which happened helped me in some way or another. I look back and see things clearly, and I see you there helping me as each year has passed in my life. My childhood was far from perfect in many ways, but you brought it into perfection as I grew into the person I am today. With each thing that happened in my, the good and the bad I learned from it. It was as I placed you in my life through trusting you, and praying for you, you helped me God. Even as a teenager I received the things I needed to learn even though pain. God I look back as I was a child and remember the pain I sometimes had. As I learned each lesson through tears and heart ache you brought in through it I became a better person as a result. I thank you for that. It was you who was helping me through my teachers, friends, and so many other things and so many other people. God, you bring us joy, and we need to see the things you bring into our lives. God there is joy in pain, there is joy in suffering. It is the true fruit of the Spirit, the fruit of Joy when we can feel true joy in the worst times in our lives. God this can only be done through you. As we seek you as we make YOU bigger than anything we feel, anything we say, and anything which is happening around us; we can be brought into your peace, and feel your true joy within the situation. It is done through prayer, it is done through totally relying on you, leaning on you completely to help us get through it. I seek you Lord as I go through everything in my life. I ask you to show me the treasure within each trail I face. I ask you to help every person on this team to do the same. God continue to help and lead Missy and I as we lead this team through you. In Jesus name I pray amen.

Some wise men lived far way from Bethlehem they saw the big bright star too. And the star made them feel happy.

Dear Jesus you came to this world for many reasons. One of those reasons was that we would have peace, that our lives would be filed with peace. It is your words which fill my heart," My peace I give to you, my peace I leave with you. Not the peace which is in this world do I give you." Jesus your peace is perfect peace. You have given us peace through your Spirit. Let us seek peace and do the things necessary to receive peace. God it all starts with you and ends with you.
Team I ask you to abide in Jesus each and every day in your life in some way or form. Talk to HIm more, spend more time with Him. Pray more often, and do the things He wants you to do. It is doing these very things that is when peace will flow through your life. My peace I give to you He says, My peace I leave with you. Take a hold of it. Do the work, spend the time, and never let go.

More angels came down from heaven until the sky was filled with angles. They all sang, "Glory to God in the highest! Peace on earth" And the shepherds said,"Let's go into the city and see the savior."

All of a sudden a angel came down from heaven. The shepherds were afraid. But the angel said they should be happy. The angel said that a Savior, Christ the Lord, would be born in Bethlehem. The savior would be born that very night.

One night the shepherds were in the field of Bethletem. They were watching their sheep. The big star was shining brightly.
note from Shelly:
Often God appears in our llives but we are not looking for Him nor do we give hIm silent time to respond to us. Let us always remember God wants to be a big part of our lives. Lets always give him time and space to be part of our lives and let Him do what He wants to do with it.

The shepherds often talked to sheep. When the sheep heard the shepherd's voice nearby the sheep knew they were in safe place.
note from Shelly:
After I read this (what I typed above) and typed it out for you I thought of something. The person who created those sentences above wrote about the sheep feeling safe when they heard the shepherd's voice. I thought of when I pray and how close I feel to God when we are together. This Christmas, and always we can feel safe and warm while we spend time with God.

And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong. - 2 Corinthians 12:9-10
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. - Philippians 4:13
