Shelly, you humble me and bless me and make my heart soar, all at the same time. There is no greater joy than to be used by our Lord to win the lost and encourage the saints of God. I bless the day He gave me the opportunity to lead two large faith-based teams here on SparkPeople. I know it was by His design, and I thank God for leading Shelly and the other men and women of faith who lead Christian teams here on SparkPeople. How amazing is it that in this health-minded community there is such a strong and bold body of Christ! Many of us come from different denominations and we may have doctrinal differences, but we come together, united by the one thing that is common to all who call on the name of the Lord: LOVE! Just as we pray over the churches of our community and nation, let us commit ourselves to the Christ-centered teams here on SparkPeople, their leaders and members, for the opportunities to be a light in the darkness to those who do not know Jesus and a beacon of truth and help to those who already have new life in Christ. Father, lead us, individually and as a body of believers, in extending your love and grace, the Good News of your gospel, so that we miss not one opportunity to further your kingdom and bring glory to your name. Give us wisdom in what to share and when, who to pray for, who to encourage with and how to express your love. Help us to ever focus upon you, for your are our source and provision. In Jesus' name.

I am blessed by so many people on this team, I don't want to name them because I would never want anyone to feel left out, and being a team leader, I have to watch my words- never wanting to hurt anyone. But those who are in my life here, you know who you are. even the people here who I don't know well, or I am getting to know, you have added joy to my life in a special way. Each person on this team has blessed my spirit and I can't even begin to try to explain THAT!!! lol
I totally agree with your words about our dear team leader Missy. I will never stop praising God for the day He told me to make her a leader. God did something very special when He had her come join this team. He filled my heart and opened it with His blessing of her. He filled me with His Holy Spirit in the way He does when He wants His message to be crystal clear. There was not a doubt in my mind when I asked her to become a leader for this team. That was nothing but HIS DIVINE PLAN! Missy and I love each other so much. I could not ever imagine this team without her. It would be as though my heart had been ripped out and stopped working. I could never imagine not leading this team either. I will be here until I am a granny, my user name will be GrannyGlitter69 then!!! lol lol lol!!!!!!!
You know you wrote life is short and we have so much to learn. God brings me these messages which I share here with you. Yesterday morning I was lying in bed just after I woke up, and he started filling my head with the words about blankets. I started writing the first few sentences in my head from Him before I had gotten out of bed. He was telling me, this is how some of my children learn. I am going to keep giving you these things from time to time, and those who need to read it will. I don't take credit for this. I don't like to write about it either... you know what I mean? I don't want it to seem to appear I am lifting myself up in anyway. We are here to bring God glory, so I try to be careful you know.... I just want to praise HIM. For it is what i strive to do each day. I try my best to have Him live through me. But what I meant to write was I am happy you learn stuff from Missy and me. We are both learning too as each day passes, as each trail is over, and as each new thing comes into our lives, as we give it to Jesus He brings His message through it. I believe I can talk for both Missy and myself in saying, you are learning from us, but we don't take credit for it. I know Missy prays before she writes here on this team. She wants to do God's will, and so we both pray before we do simple things & big things, so that God keeps us in His will in ALL things and in ALL areas in our lives.
Thank you for always sharing with us. Those who share ere, it just blessed each post, and helps all of us in the process!
I LOVE this team!!!!!

You have so much love for our Lord and it just flows from you and it is so contagious and so happy and peaceful feeling and I just love being around someone like you who exudes all of these qualities.
Missy is another one who just gushes over with peace and love and warmth and so does Erin and I just so enjoy talking with each of you because I learn so much from each of you as you share your experience with growing in Jesus.
This life is so short and yet we have so much to learn and the learning never seems to end.
There is so much to learn and to take to heart when being transformed by the grace and love of our Lord.
Just keep on writing and sharing yourself like you do because it is a light in this darkened world.
Sleeping in an unmade bed won't take you to hell but you have to sleep in that bed. Have you ever slept in an unmade bed before? Maybe you have slept in an unmade bed for so long you forget how good it feels to sleep in a bed which is always made.
I don't make my bed each morning. Now, it is getting cold here in Ohio, and most nights we sleep with some covers over us by this time of the year. However, during the cooler months of the year my husband and I only sleep with a sheet, and sometimes a light blanket to cover us, and in the summer not even that!
These last couple of weeks we have been sleeping with more covers & I have noticed something. Sleeping in an unmade bed is uncomfortable. All of your body parts are not completely covered with all of the blankets because they have become all rolled up into a mess. There are bulges here, and light areas over there, and as a result not all of your body is covered with the same amount of warmth.
If you make your bed each morning you may even experience a more restful sleep! All of your covers are completely covering your body. The warmth of each blanket is distributed throughout your body. Each basket is evenly touching each area of your body, and let me tell you when all these things work together it just feels better!
Now, as I wrote earlier sleeping in an unmade bed will never take you to hell, but you have to sleep in that bed. Now, lets say that sleeping in an unmade made could be compared with living with compromised thoughts, words, & actions. Many times when you are living a compromising life, you are not sinning, but you are not thinking, talking, or sometimes doing the best things you could be thinking, talking, and doing. This causes you to feel uncomfortable, and you don't feel as good could as you could be feeling with yourself. Basically living a compromised life causes you to lose your peace.
Living an uncompromised life has many advantages. Living an uncompromised life keeps you covered with the acknowledgement that you are doing the best you can do. It keeps you covered with contentment, and can even provide an inner warmth. Being satisfied by and with your thoughts, words and actions provide peace within your life.
Having peace in your life provides happiness, and I have found it helps me to hear better from God. It is like icing on top of a cake! Once you get a taste for peace in your life and you realize the difference it makes you do things to keep peace in your life. You want to keep peace in your life because you really understand how it changes you and your life. Now, it is not possible to keep peace within your life no matter how many good thoughts you have, how nicely you talk, or how well behaved you are. But the times when you DO have that peace it over rides the times while you don't, trust me.
I encourage you to live your life without compromising. As you try to become a better person I believe each of us live through a time in our lives while we are compromising. We want to please God as long as it doesn't hurt too much. We want to avoid sin, as long as we don't have to scarce too often. We want to talk right as long as it doesn't make us feel uncomfortable. Well, get rid of trying to please yourself and realize sometimes you CAN NOT please GOD AND YOURSELF. Become real comfortable knowing that if you are going to do this thing right you WILL be hurt sometimes. Understand that sometimes we DO have to make sacrifices, and be prepared to accept feeling uncomfortable knowing you ARE behaving the correct way.
Hey listen; we are living in a world among many sinners. Most oh use don't work with people who talk correctly all the time and sometimes we hang around people who don't always do the right things. If you are going to be pleasing to God and grow closer to Him there will be times when you are the ONLY one talking correctly, and you are the ONLY one doing the correct thing. But you know what ... SO WHAT, say it anyway, still do what you know in your heart is the correct thing to do. We must understand if we are going to change, & if we want to grow more spiritually we have to make these kinds of sacrifices.
I keep making changes in my life, and I tell you what, I just keep becoming filled with more joy and peace. God rewards you with these two things called fruit of the spirit (there are nine total Fruits of the Spirits) and as you grow in each fruit it changes you and it makes you. It is not easy talking with a family member and they are tearing into another family member. You know they are hurting, and or upset. Sometimes if you keep silent they may even say, are you listening to me, or do you care what I am going through? They may want you to join in, or tell them how awful the person they are talking about is. I will tell you sometimes it is hard to say, “You know what, I am trying not to talk about people. I am sorry that what you described happened, but I don't think it is right to judge them, and talk about them, and I don't want to do it.” I just did this a few days ago, and I tell you what, it was not easy for me, but I did it anyway. Now I have been working on this for over a year. Not talking about people has become a little easier, but to be honest not much easier. Although my family knows I work at not talking about people I still have these kinds of conversations with them. Although these words are not new to my family members, it STILL is not easy to do. Sometimes all I can do is walk out of the room when they are gathered together due to their choice of conversation.
I will tell you sometimes it is ME talking about someone and it is ME making judgments, but more often it is not. More often than not I stop myself and say, what I am doing is wrong. I should not be thinking this way. I should not talk this way. I do not feel badly about sharing this with you because I believe that by sharing this with you it will help you to change as well.
I encourage you to change your ways in whatever form and matter you need to. You will be pleasing God. You might become more fun to be around, and have more fun in the process!
