yes shelly this is so true if we allow God to do with us anything is possible. i believe that we can overcome any fear that we have if we rely on God's help. i know that i have walked through some fear this last week and yes i've done some major changes as a result. i have became closer to God and that my friend is what it's about. God is doing for me what i cannot do for myself. He is always there if i allow Him in and i know i have to today.
Oh, all of you are so GREAT!!! I love what each person has said, and yes it is all true. I agree with each person. I will just add, Bobbie, I plan on doing some video blogs all about Jesus. But, He instructed me to start with the Spark Diet, it really was not my choice to do it. After I obeyed God to do the video blog, I asked Him, ok God, what am I suppose to do these video blogs about, and then it became clear God wanted me to do the Spark Diet. I will take a little break perhaps after the Spark Diet blogs are finished, I might have about a month or more to go yet. Really, doing these blogs take a lot of work and more time than you could image. So, I may need a bit a a break before I start them again. But, as with all things I will pray and ask God what He wants me to do, and if no break is what God wants then God will make it so no break is even needed, ya know.
Aman!! sistas your words of wisdom and your transparecy really is helping me. I'm about to embark on this new way of eating and staying healthy this time without my significant others support. I know I cannot do it on my own but I know that if I can read your posts to stay encoraged and vent to my team I can walk throught this valley with confedence.

I agree with that. I've heard this scenario before. A man is driving a lonely road in the dessert. There is little to see except sand and tumble-weed. Every 1/2 mile or so there is a telephone poll. Suddenly a tire bursts and he starts to loose control over the car's direction. He looks forward and sees a telephone poll in the distance. He thinks that all might be good if he just doesn't hit that poll. He keeps his eyes on the poll and not the road, and in disbelief he hits the very poll he didn't want to hit. If we focus on the negative and not on Jesus then we will get what we don't want! Let's keep our eyes on Jesus. Hope you all are having a great week. I feel blessed to be here with all of you. Thank you for touching my life and heart. Karen

The truly crazy thing about fear is that it attracts to us the very thing we're afraid of. "That which I have feared most has come upon me" has come to be more clear to me than ever in my life. When we fail to trust God, TRULY trust Him in any given circumstance, we open the door for that area of our lives to the enemy. When we fear, we almost call to us the thing that we've raised up above the name of Jesus in our lives. If we fear loneliness, for instance, we end up with fractured relationships because of that fear and become even more alone. Instead of surrendering that fear to the Lord and discovering that He truly is a friend who sticks closer than a brother, who calls us into fellowship in His body of believers, we hold it close and it becomes bigger than the Lord in that arena of our lives. The same pattern holds true with any fear we allow to have lordship (ownership) in our lives. It's why we are so adamantly admonished to FEAR NOT; BE NOT AFRAID; I HAVE NOT GIVEN YOU A SPIRIT OF FEAR. Could that be more clear? Oh, Lord, give us eyes that see, ears that hear, and hearts that understand so that we will trust you in all things.
There is nothing we can do to make God love us more; there is nothing we can do to make God love us less. -- Philip Yancey

Shelly, after reading this, I think He wants you to focus on who Jesus is and what you can do because of Jesus and through Jesus and not to even consider yourself one bit at all.
Just get on that video and talk about Jesus and how you experience Jesus each day and share your testimony about Jesus, It doesn't even have to be about food or diet or exercise, just Jesus, Jesus, Jesus and more Jesus.
Just go for it with the entire focus on Jesus and His love
This past month I have walked through my fear by doing six video blogs for this team and God based on Sparkpeople's Spark Diet. God put it in my heart last year to start doing video blogs. ( I wrote about this just before I did my first one asking this team to pray for me)
Doing a video blog has been the MOST transparent thing I have ever done for this team, and may be the most humbling thing I have ever done. I mean I bring you into my house, and you see my body, and hear my voice. My webcam is VERY CLEAR. I do not have an editing program so if i make a mistake, there it is. I allowed fear to stop me from doing them at first, and told God, not now God, not now, give me some time. So you know what He did? He gave me some time, because I expereinced peace after we talked. But months later I got this "tap on the shoulder" it was time and God told me so in a few different ways. It is very hard for me not to be in God's will. So I talked to God more, and asked for more of HIs help. I prayed and asked others to pray for me, then I walked through my fear, and did my first video blog!
Doing the video blogs have become easier, but it is still hard for me. I do not like being in the spot light, I don't like having my face right out there having my every movement on tape. To be honest, sometimes I feel so ugly while I am trying to put together a video blog, and I think, Shelly, you have to put aside how you feel and get this thing done!
I thank God for helping me do each video blog. I humbly say many people have been helped, and I believe blessed by God as the result of my v/blogs here on Sparkpeople.
I responded to a blog today. A team member of ours wrote about fear and below is a poertion of my response to her. I am sharing it with you below:
God is there for us during our times of fear, and He will always help us through our fear. Think back to the events in your life... Wasn't God the one who has been there all along? He is the one who gives you comfort, and who will always give you WHAT you need & WHEN it. Always ask God for what you need in your life, and expect HIm to give it to you in His time. The more time you talk to God, the more ways you bring Him into your life the more often, and more ways you will feel HIm each day. This life of ours is God's plan, and it is worked out through HIs will. It is our job to except what happens to us, and trust God through it.
Fear is the devil's trick to trip us up, to get us side tracked, to make us hesitate, to keep us out of God's will, to keep us from doing and being our best. No one got anywhere leading their life through fear. Kick that devil to the side and be determined to live the best life you have right now with Jesus by your side. God did not give us fear, but he gave us his power, Inside of you, right inside we have all that it takes to live victorious lives!!! But we got to take Jesus's hand, and hold on tight and never let go. We have to seek him and seek HIm often. We have to do the work, follow HIS plan do surrender it all to Him. He will keep us safe, and enable us to walk through a firewall without becoming burned. This is the power of God, and this is how we can live each day of our lives, victoriously with Jesus, and full of HIs power. These are not just my words, these words came from living out my life and walking through my fear with Jesus.
Yes, there are days which are hard, yes there are moments we cry, become scared, and feel defeated, but with God WE ARE MORE THAN CONQUERS!!!!!
2 Timothy God did not give us a spirit of fear, but rather He gave us a spirit of power, love and self-discipline.
