Thank you for posting this Shelly. I really enjoyed reading it. It reminded me of my oldest daughter when she was about 9 yrs old. They were having an art competition in school and the subject was about Jesus and the world. Well she drew a picture of Jesus holding a globe of the world with the caption "He's got the whole world in his hands!" She won the competition! Hope you have a happy, healthy and Blessed Christmas,

HIs name is Jesus
His name is Jesus to us, but how many other omes does that one name carry within?
Several Christmases ago my husband and I started a tradition. During the month of December we started reading about the different names of Jesus. It was a way to keep our focus on Jesus during the special month of December.
I want to share with you the things John and I read each year during the Christmas season. We receive these words from something which is called Adornments. They are little card board ornaments. Each one opens up as a little book would, and inside tells about a different name of Jesus. As I share with you each name know that these are not my words but the words which we read from the Adornment.
THE NAMES OF JESUS:
~ BRIGHT MORNING STAR “I Jesus sent My angel to testify these things for the churches. I am …the bright morning star.” -Revelations 22:16
No two Christmas trees are the same. From house to house from each one is uniquely decorated- except for one special ornament that shines on top of most Christmas trees round the world… the star! The ornament represents the famous star that the three wise men followed to find the baby Jesus, the son of God. Jesus is called the morning star. And like the wise men, we too must seek and follow Jesus worshiping Him and serving Him with our whole heart.
~ THE KING OF KINGS
“He is the blessed and only sovereign, King of Kings and Lord of Lords.” -1 Timothy 6:15 Do you know the song he’s got the whole world in his hands? Jesus really has the whole world, including the kings of Kings and the rulers – and you and me- in the palm of His hand. The bible says He is the sovereign king of king and lord of lords. That means he is all powerful, all wise and in control of everything that happens. God wants us to honor Jesus as our kIng. We do that by serving, trusting, and obeying Him. That is the gift Jesus wants from you this year!
~ GOOD SHEPHERD
“I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.” - John 10:11
Jesus told His follows about a shepherd with 100 sheep. One of them was washed away & was lost. The good shepherd left all the others to find the lost one, because He cares about all of His sheep. The bible calls Jesus the good shepherd and we are His sheep if we follow Him. (Psalm 95:7) He takes care of all of our needs. He gives us rest when we are weary, comfort when we are scared, and protection. He even gave His life to save us. What a wonderful shepherd!
The Father has sent [his son] to be the savior of the world. Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in Him and he is in God. - 1 John 4:14-15 With all the excitement of opening presents at Christmas do you ever forget that Jesus is the greatest gift given? The bible tells us that Jesus was born to “save His people from their sins.” (Mathew 1:2) God gave us a gift of a savior! Even His name means “the Lord is salvation.” When Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead, He took the punishment and paid the penalty for sin for all who believe. This Christmas tell Him that you want to receive the great gift of love and salvation!
