When you wake up each morning does it take you awhile for you to keep your eyes open after your alarm clock goes off? Are you a cheerful, alert morning person? When I was growing up my mom would wake me up on the week ends, and often start asking me questions. I would still be in bed, and I would barely be wiping the sleep from my eyes; there she would be standing in the door way of my bedroom asking me questions. Don't ask my why she had an urgent need to ask me just right then. I would be like,"Mom, my brain is dead, what did you just ask me?" My mom never did stop asking me questions before I got our of bed! She still does it sometimes when I go to visit her! LOL
It took me awhile to realize this, but I am not a morning person.
This morning like most other mornings of my life, I opened up my eyes about eight times before keeping them open and actually getting out of bed. Before crawling out of bedI looked at one of our bedroom windows. My eyes glazed at the blinds trying to determine whether the sun was out or not. I guess I should explain I was up late last night. It was about 12:30 pm when I woke up today. I don't work, but I spend my time doing volunteer work during the day. I determined by the amount of light I saw through the crack of the blind that the sun was not out. I was hoping for another sunny day. Although the sun was out all day yesterday, last week had too many cloudy days. I eventually got out of bed and glanced into the hall way. The way our foyer is designed the sun light from our glass front door shines into our hallway. I was really surprised to see so much sun shine greet me.
As I was in the bathroom, I thought about when I was lying in bed hoping for a sunny day. Although I did not think that the sun was going to be out, I was determined to have sun shine in my heart. That is how God wants us to be with him. If you are going through a hard time right now, or just having a bad day, make it the best day you can rain or shine. If it feels like God is not helping you, or you feel weak within your situation, do not fret thinking where is God? Where has He gone? Why isn't He helping me through this? God is sometimes like an invisible mist in an early morning fog. He is there seeing everything, feeling every tear that is released from your eyes. Every tensed muscle within your body, he knows will be tightened before your body responds to the stress. God is within it all and He is within YOU!
God wants us to go through what ever comes our way keeping him close within us as we go through it. If you wake up and don't feel him it doesn't mean He is not in the room with you. Whether you are having a bad day or a great day God wants you to know that he is right by your side.
Dear Jesus please help me and my team to always remember you and totally rely on you. It is when we totally rely on you that we receive all of your strength, peace, and love. In Jesus name I pray amen.
