Cher, it is such a blessing to hear that. It's so important that we reach out to people and let them know they are welcome, let them know they are worth our time, that they matter. I hope we are all able to do that more and more, even when it means going outside our comfort zones.

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon job to Missy. I have been a member of sparkpeople since Dec '07 but didn't really participate fully until May of this year. I then didn't really feel welcomed into the sparkpeople community until I found this team this month. This team is so wonderful that I feel like I have been a part of this team for a long time. It must be due to our common walk with God that we can come together as one. This success is due so much to the wonderful support that Missy and Shelly offer. Thanks for everything, Chern

Oh, my goodness. lol I literally blushed as I read this, and making this old New Orleans gal blush is NOT easy! Thank you so much for your kind words. I don't think I've shared with anybody else here besides Griff part of my testimony whereby I walked (ran!) away from full time ministry as a young woman and listened to the lies of the enemy. I stayed out of fellowshp, out of service unto my King for far, FAR too many years. To be welcomed back into His loving arms, placed in a church home where I am nourished and loved, where I can serve and actively love others is a greater blessing than I ever could have imagined.

When I was searching for recipes online and stumbled onto this site, joined up, started to explore the site, I never could have imagined in my wildest dreams what SP would come to mean to my life, how many doors of opportunity would open up for me to extend the love and grace and truth of God to others. I cannot thank Him enough for that honor. I am so grateful to Shelly for the privilege of serving my brothers and sisters. I blogged once on the joy of service and I truly beleive that as Christias our lives are incomplete if we are not pouring out of ourselves, investing our lives into others. The more we empty ourselves into others, the more He fills us back up to overflowing.

As Shelly learned today, outreach sometimes comes with a pricetag! As it should. It cost our Lord everything. And He gave it without reservation. How can we do anything less?

Thank you again for your friendship, for all that you pour into me daily. You bring me SUCH joy!!

I agree that one leader on a team of this size is quite a handful, but you do a very good job Shelly.
Missy has been wonderful, I do read her posts, but d/t recent computer problems, and work, I have not been able to respond to many posts. Getting better though.
I will join you in thanking her for all the good work that she does.

MISSY (YATMAMA) has been a great help to me these last few weeks. For the past almost a year, I have been trying to lead this team on my own. There are so many things that I have wanted to do, yet never enough time to do it all. Like I don't respond enough to the blogs. I respond to the threads people write on this team, but, I need to get better at responding to blogs. I need to encourage people who are doing the goals. I have not done that enough as well. At times I have not written enough threads in the healthy lifestyle forum. As well have not spent enough time in the chit chat thread, the daily devotion thread, and perhaps the best thread here, the Jesus first thread.

I am proud of the leader that I am. I am very grateful of your praises. God is the one who helps me do every thing in my life and the credit goes to Him.

I felt God leading me to ask Missy to help me lead this time. I want to honor her for her dedication, and hard work. She has helped me in many ways. She was written in the healthy lifestyle forum, and spends a lot of time making people feel welcome with her kind words! She looks for blogs to respond to, and shares herself with them, and she is kind to everyone she encounters.

Please help me give praise to Missy.
