Anyone register for any more races?

I'm thinking of the Tanenbaum 10K in the Beach on December 1. I didn't run at all this week, since I did the Women's 8K on the 26th in freezing cold rain....it was awful weather! But I'll have to get back at it this week. It's so cold and dark though, I guess I have to get a gym pass if this winter is going to be colder than last winter. I ran outside last winter, it wasn't too cold.

I'm running the Women's 8K on Saturday at Sunnybrook. I love this series, they have 3 races a year. Their tshirts say "Women Set the Pace" .... I love that!

I can't remember if it sold out last year but you have some time to decide.

I say go for it! GutzMom needs some stress-busting exercise to keep sane while moving! And you want to try for a better PR this year. The Santa Shuffle is smaller than the CIBC breast cancer run (is that the one you did?) but it's got a nice vibe. Last year there was a cool medal that looks like a Santa hat and everyone got a Lindt chocolate advent calendar. And they had a BBQ at the finish line. You get a long sleeve tshirt if you raise at least $50.

Congratulations!

I'm on the fence about signing up for the santa shuffle, as much as it sounds like fine we are now moving mid December. On one hand I'm worried I won't have time, on the other hand I think I may need to run to manage the stress.

I just got home from the Waterfront race ..... I ran 5K in 38:10 which is pretty good for me! Not quite my PR but I'm happy!

re the Santa Shuffle....you don't have to fundraise. I decided I'm only going to fundraise for one race a year and I choose the Waterfront so I can be the Toronto Vegetarian team because that's important to me. For other charity races I just pay the registration fee and donate $20 myself but don't ask my friends to sponsor me. The Santa Shuffle is a fun, casual race and not too big... I recommend it!

how does the santa shuffle work? Do you have to raise money for the salvation army? I'd really like to do another 5K as I didn't do as well as I would have liked in my first one. But I just hit everyone up for money for Breast Cancer.

I'm over my fundraising goal so now all I have to do is figure out whether to wear shorts or capris!

I went for a short run today at lunch, it didn't feel great. I hope I feel more energized on Sunday!

Is anyone doing the Toronto Waterfront Marathon on Sunday? I'm doing it but just the 5K. It's a HUGE event and I think every runner should try out a huge run like that! I like smaller and medium races too though!

I'm fundraising for the Toronto Vegetarian Association. I'm really close to my goal of $500. This race welcomes teams of people who want to fundraise for almost any charity, it's pretty cool and diverse!

Fingers crossed for good weather.

I went for a nice run yesterday in High Park on the path they'll use for Harry's Spring Run-Off. It's a beautiful path, and it was extra-pretty yesterday because the trees along Grenadier Pond had icicles on them, and the sun was beating down on them and making the ice glisten...gorgeous!

There was so much snow but the temperature was about 0, plus the sun made us warm up...there was one guy running in shorts!

It'll be nice in April too, when Harry's race is. I haven't signed up yet, I'm trying to decide whether I'll do the 5K or 8K.

Any runners on this team? I ran the 5K Santa Shuffle today. I'm thinking about doing the 10K in April that runs down Yonge Street. I have some work to do to be able to run that far!
