Yesterday, I used celery instead of chips for hummus.

I'm 4'10.5". A normal BMI for my height tops out at 119.

swapped home made rye and whole meal bread on Tuesday with a white roll - less calories and tasty. Doing the same tonight. Also swapping elliptical trainer instead of yoga as too wet and nasty outside to head out to class. Plus should burn off more calories.

I swapped 1% milk for unsweetened almond milk in my protein shake. And ate 1 oz pretzels instead of chips.

Yesterday, I chose veggie pizza instead of pepperoni pizza, which both were options, but I don't know if it should count, since I don't eat meat. *Shrug*

But I also bought celery to dip in my hummus or salsa, and I had that yesterday, as well.

I had a simply bar when I was hungry instead of chocolates.
I "sweetened" my tea with cloves , cinnamon and cardamom instead of sugar
I drank water instead of soda.
i put garlic, oregano and a little olive oil on my salad.
i'm pleased even if I didn't choose from their list. I don't like their replacement options better than mine.

What a great way to stop and think before just snacks or meals as usual!

Substituted an fresh broccoli florets with 2 tbsp. fat free ranch dressing for a snack instead of chips or crackers.

So, like the other posters, I already do most of the swaps. Today, I skipped crackers with my soup, and saved some. For dinner, I am skipping the sausage and having tortellini and broccoli with no cheese. later this week, I'll have a baked potato instead of fries, and yogurt instead of sour cream. I already use skim milk, but will reduce my portion of oatmeal to 2/3 cup. I'm doing a vitamin C push, so will eat canned pineaple, oranges and such instead of juice.

I certainly already do quite a few of these and I don't eat any meat or drink sugary drinks anyway. However, I read the whole thing and it made me realise that maybe the best thing I can do this week is be more mindful of what I eat and see if there are any other calories saving choices I can make.

emoticon I generally live by those rules as well. I don't drink soda at all and drink either unsweetened iced tea or water (or flavored iced teas where they're offered - not the fountain variety). I don't use drink mixes at all, so no need to switch to sugar free. Maybe swapping the hard salami for turkey breast except I really hate turkey, and I don't I'd be eating a deli near sandwich this week anyway.

LOL... I either already do those points listed or don't eat those foods. Heck, not eating dairy (or meat) cuts out about half of them in general anyway. LOL!!!

Here is the 50 ways MC. This week, it may be as simple as NOT eating the Halloween candy (for those in the US). Does Europe do a Trick or Treat type thing?

Anyway, we've only done this one a few times. I like it though because it has me looking at my calorie count very closely. :D

So, this week we're going to work on finding some places where we can make an easy cut in our intake calories. The following Sparkpeople article gives us 50 different places where we can cut 100 or so calories:
