Hello! I just found this team and just love this challenge! May I join now, even if it's closer to the end of the week? I need to "start over" and this challenge seems perfect! I can commit to drinking 1/2 in 24, which for me will mean I have to drink 124 ounces of water per day for the next 3 days. That's a LOT of water, I'd better start drinking now!

I'll do the 1/2 in 24 challenge, I've been sporadic with my water lately so this will be a good challenge for me...

I'm already working on my first 32 oz. I fill up a gatorade type bottle, and drink on it. That way I only have to fill it up 4 times, doesn't seem like so much water that way...

my goal 127 oz...

Started today with 4 cups for 32oz, and already have my 32 oz nalgene filled and ready. It's going to be a hot one, so I better make sure I drink it and refill it while at camp!

This is a difficult one for me as I don't drink much water. Will try for 64 but, after three glasses so far today, have stomach cramps so will have to see what happens later.

I'm in! Drinking half my body weight would be 69 oz, so I'm going to round up to 72 oz. of water a day, or 9 cups. I'm going for 7/7 days!

I'm going to do 1/2 which isn't hard I do it quite a few days, but I'm going to try for 4 days, at least.
1/2 is 98 oz for me which is just over 3 32 oz bottles, I have a water bottle with a straw and en plastic 32 oz bottle that I use for refilling. I leave the house with these full and even will sit at the computer with them..

I usually drink 90-100 ounces a day anyway which is more than 1/2 but I'm going to keep that as a goal for this challenge.

I am up for this one.
1/2 in 24 hours for 4 days
That's 74 ounces for me who weighs in at 148 lb.
My strategy, I've atually been trying this for myself for a few weeks, is to fill 2 times 1 litre bottles of water when I get to the office and set them on my desk. I try to have them empty before I go home.
Monday is complete for me

My goal for this week is 1/2 in 24 so that will equal 11 cups in 24 hours emoticon

64 or 1/2 in 24

This will be our 1st Intake Mini-Challenge (MC) of the series instead of the 2nd. Next week we'll repeat an Intake MC, then we'll have an Exercise MC, and then a Self-Esteem MC the following week. ;)

This week, Option A is for you to drink 64 ozs. of liquid, preferably water, in 24 hours for 4 out of the 7 days the MC is in effect. The MC will include the usually Monday Start Weight Weigh-In & it will also include logging in daily to post your water intake, just like we’ve been doing with the fiber Up Challenge this week.

Where does the ½ come in, you ask? Well, I’ve read up a lot on liquid intake in preparation for this challenge and it seems that we (humans) should actually be drinking ½ our body weight in ounces on a daily basis for it to do the most good (and for us to drop weight like rocks (yeah!)). That means a 180 pound women should drink 90 ounces of water daily, *ideally*.

So with that in mind, here is “Option B” of the MC, should you choose to accept it:

You may “up the challenge” for yourself and win a Gold Crown Award by declaring that you will intake ½ your body weight in ounces at least 4 days out of the 7 days this MC is in effect.

Declarations must be made by the end of the day Wed, but may be made as early as the day this is posted; simply post that you will do either the 64 or ½ in 24 hours as your personal MC and we will be off and rolling!

I hope that each of you will share your tips & tricks for getting the water ‘in’ this week with your teammates. Mine is to add a Lipton Green Tea To Go to each bottle of 24 oz water that I drink…and to keep it on me at all times. Here are more tips:

• Drink 1 to 2 glasses of water as soon as you get up in the morning. You have been asleep for 6 to 10 hours, and that's a long time to go without any liquids. (This often helps people overcome their addictions to caffeine, as rehydrating the body and brain lead to clearer thinking and better energy.)

• Keep a beautiful pitcher of filtered water near your work space so that you are constantly reminded to drink during the day. Fill up the pitcher with the amount of water you want to consume in the day.

• Drink a glass of water before exercise.

• During exercise, drink about 8 ounces of fluid every 15 to 20 minutes.

• Avoid drinks with caffeine or alcohol, which have a dehydrating effect.

• Never restrict the amount of water you crave during regular exercise.

• Always make fluids a part of your exercise routine.

• Bottles, bottles everywhere! Keep bottles of water in your car, at the office, or around your work areas.

• To reduce the amount of chlorine in your drinking water if you aren't using a filter, try this simple tip: Allow drinking water to stand at room temperature for an hour or more, which will allow most of the chlorine to evaporate out of the water.

• Drink at least one glass of room-temperature water with every meal.
