I came back a few days ago, after being away since Dec. 28. I'm nicknaming myself the "Start-Over Lady." Believe me, I'm much too old to be a "Comeback Kid."
I'm "Starting Over" for the umpteenth time, but at least I didn't gain any weight while I was gone.

After taking a 6 month break from spark I have come to the conclusion that I need the external motivation and support sparkteams provide. So I'm back, looking to kick these 10 new pounds to the curb.

I had a very tiring day today and I went way overboard with my calories intake, But thinking that I started successfully the "make some magic" challenge, and the idea that I can still start over my day, istead of crying over spilled milk all day, kept my spirits up!!!
So even though I did not reach my intake goal today, I can still reach my 8 cups of water, I did exercise, and I completed the mini challenge! I can feel good about myself with this :)

It sounded just like me when RITAROSE talked about her mindless eating in the evening that blows it for the whole day! That's me since around the holidays and I've gained weight and I'm not a happy camper and I have to get a jump-start on changing or I'll really be up a creek!! So I will be disciplined and CHANGE the mindless eating in the evening to be MINDFUL and will be eating good, healthy foods. Starting March 14th. I'm writing it on the calendar! Wish me luck!!

I love the feeling of a fresh start! Today I'm on day 3 of my current streak of no mindless eating at night that blows all the hard work of my eating plan! Sometimes just knowing that if you mess up you can start anew makes all the difference in the world. Now that I've been successful for 2 whole days/nights I surely don't want to wreck that with a booboo, but if I do I will begin anew.

Sadly, I was informed this morning of the passing of one of our team members: WINNINGBATTLE (Aithley). She was only 25 years old and hailed from London. Her brother knew about her Spark Page and wrote a blog about Aithley, informing us of her passing. Should you wish to read it and send your condolences, it is here:

This was my most inspiring team before i got hurt, it helped me stay focused and ready to take on a new challenge each wk. I had to stop sparkin for awhile I got injured and it just hurt my arm to bad to type, when coming back I couldn't even think about a challenge, I was just trying to get myself to spark at all, so i picked one spark friend and only logged in a sparked to her for abit until i was ready to venture out again. I was also face first in food, today am on fire again, ready to push off the rest of my extra pds. So glad you are still here, mini challenging away!
I think I am finally ready again to take on wkly challenges again! cya on the huddle!

I would love a weekend challenge, especially this weekend. I am really determinded to stay on track this weekend. Today is my normal weigh in day, and I am .6 lbs over what I was last week. Good news is I finally lost all I gained over the weekend, BUT I am not working my butt off (literally this week, lol), to gain weight, no matter how low in a week. Today while walking I started to cry thinking that IF I hadn't been so bad this weekend my goal would be that much closer. OK, enough moaning about the would of, could ofs. Time to get butt busting. :)

Maybe we should do a weekend Mini-Challenge....of some sort. The number of posts each weekend drops considerably and I'm to blame as well. I get derailed and a little bit lazy, you might say. Hmmmmm....I'll be thinking about it!

My biggest challenge is staying focused on the weekends. I seem to do well all week, then binge on the weekends. I really thought I'd do good this last weekend when I got up and went for a 5+ mile walk/jog Saturday morning. Stayed on track with food all day too, Until the after dinner munchies hit. Ended up having over 2000 calories AFTER dinner. Didn't even bother tracking Sunday after going to movies and grazing through the store, trying bread pudding and risotto balls. Oh yeah, don't forget the chocolate eclairs. So, any advice on how to stick to the program on the weekends?

Like in my signature i have " Together we Achieve More"
It is true, we can not do this alone, i have almost no support at home, majority almost all my support come from my spark friends and spark groups. I really like the challenges i finally got back into habit of doing them after a long haul of being away from groups, i see that i needed them and am here to stay i really enjoy this group.

I too use the metric system, kg x 2.2 = pounds . If you need the formula to work it out. It is funny sometimes, because i have not lost 5 kg yet but i have lost 10 pounds. i count in both now since the pounds make it feel like i have made a change whilst in kilos i may have not made such a big change in my weight. But with measurements cm are the bigger number as you work it out as cm / 2.54 = inches. But with me i have a Total loss so far: 29 cm / 11.42 inches and Weight loss: 4.6 kg /10.12 lbs

I'm not sure how much 2 kilos is....in the US, so I'm used to pounds but I understand what you're going through. Get involved and begin posting everything you eat into the tracker...it helps!

And here I am starting over again. I have lost track of the times I started over, but either way, it's a new start again. Less than 2 weeks to the beach and have 5 kilos to lose. Or 10 cm from belly. This time frame makes me want to quit again! I am not going to make it, unless I realllly starve myself....Few times I almost cancelled my holiday as the thought of showing my body on the beach horrified me. For years I have been the fattest of my friends and it really affects my self-esteem. My boyfriend doesn't like my daily depression and low self-esteem outburst, so I better do something about it! Starting now! But with a new, more realistic goal. 2 kilos to lose. In two weeks. Easy, right?

I know It's at the end of the week but I got to get on track. Gained 5 lbs over last 2 weeks. Got to get focus. Don't really have any support...so seem hard when your at it alone. But gonna keep praying and allowing myself reflection time and hope I'll stay on track.

So, got grocery list and menu ready for my shopping trip but decided to get fast food instead. The only good news is I purchased 5 folded taco's but could only eat 2 of them before I got full and stopped eating. So, not I just need the gumption to get off my hiney and get groceries so I can cook.

Me too! I used to love earning golden crowns. It's been awhile, i have been back to sparks alittle over a wk, but was afraid to commit to anything except logging in, until I had in at least a wk so I wasn't a start and quitter. I'm back girls I can feel it. Ready to wear my golden crown again.

Sorry I have been such an MIA teammate. I got caught up in other things and actually forgot all about this team, I know how could I do that right?? I am back to try again and stay on track with this team. My fitness/diet actions are going good, but everyone can use a little shake up now and then and this team gives me new ideas to try, regular little changes, and inspiration from others. Lets get moving!

Glad your back too. Somehow we have to make this work. My sister has lost 15 pounds and now the actual weight is providing motivation for her.

This is the first time I am trying to get team support and support others. I don't know exactly how to move around the web site, but I will learn..."When in doubt click about". LOL The words I heard recently, "the spirit is willing but the flesh keeps failing", is motivating me to keep trying to improve diet, loose weight and increase physical strength. In other words, I'm here to get help to LET THE SPIRIT WIN.

Hi everyone....Im new.....again :-) I haven't been on for a reeeeeeeally long time. Almost a year, I think? I have had many things happen in my life and I forgot to take care of myself. Im ready to do that again...to take care of myself, because Im worth it. Im sure you girls out there know what I mean? :-) I really do need some inspiration, and I know the support Sparkers give is invaluable!
Thanks everyone! Stephanie

I am new to the group and don't know exactly whats going on. All I know is I often need little reminders, small goals to help me feel like a success. Weighed in this morning and up 1.5 pounds. SOOOOO not okay with that. Where'd I go wrong? Am I just building muscle since I wen't from being lazy to an average of 2 miles a day? Either way. I am here now. Gonna check it out a little more and see if I can't find my little corner of this world.

I made it through the week end successfully. The first one in a few years actually. And my weigh in on Tuesday came in at 3 pounds down. I've only had one or two times where the old this is not worth it stuff started creeping in and I was able to override it and keep on track. I hope all us returnees and all the newbees are successful!

I'm back too. I've been a very inactive member of the team for way to long and when I was more involved with these mini challenges they helped me stay motivated in other areas... so why did I stop??? Well, no matter I'm back!

I'm back and it's high time. I've gained and lost and gained again. I need the support of people working toward the same goals I am. Right now that goal is to simply make it through an entire day without falling back to the old defeating actions. I've gained and lost the same 3 pounds for the past 3 months or so. The problem is soon I will quit losing those three pounds and I'll move to the next 3 pounds on up the scale. It's been that way for the past 30 pounds. I don't want to get as high as I've been before. Thank you for being here!

am needing some new ideas on changing my eating habits. My husband and I both have a high ldl and I have high blood pressure. It seems like all the recipes I come across, especially here all have high sodium and a lot of carbs. I want to change but I can't seem to find anything. Any ideas?

Hello. I started my new week by weigh in and am so upset with myself. I have put on 10 pounds in 3 weeks. I know I was emotionally eating junk food, but kept giving myself excuses "you deserve a day off" "you been doing so good" "why stop to measure that snack, just grab some" even brought the bag to the couch and fell right into old habits of eating most of it instead of the one cup bowl I was so careful with when I was on track. NEW start today!

I'm Debz, 28 from the UK. I'm back here again and hoping that I stick around this time as I'm desperate to get myself in shape to make myself and the hubby happy. I'm also on a mission to start a family so every little helps right?
Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Hi everyone. I am 37 and am not new to SP. I have started and stopped many times. I have the working out part but I still have not figured out the eating right. I do well during the day at work but as soon as I get home I am done for. I am going to try again and figure this out. I am training for a 1/2 marathon in August and I know I need to lose the weight. I am excited to find others who have the same issues.

Well, I am new to the group and glad to see I am not alone on this “Starting Over” journey. The holidays hit me like a ton of bricks! I lost 15 pounds and somehow gained those 15 pounds lost and a few extra. Sadly, my clothes are not fitting for all the wrong reasons…yet again. So, cheers to starting over and finding the will power to keep it off!

Hi. I joined SP back in '09 when I was struggling to "stay on track". I had been doing well. I had lost 30 pounds. But, I was just... struggling to keep going and I thought a change would help. But, I was just plain burned out. And now... well I have since "found" those 30 pounds (and a few more) and I want them lost again. I got back on SP this past Monday and I've had a good week. Eating well. Exercising. After just a few days, I feel a lot better already.
Anyway, my biggest battle is my all-or-nothing approach to fitness. I either do really, really great or I really, really don't. This team seems like a good place to combat this poor approach to a "lifestyle" that I have never been able to achieve.

'It was the best of times, it was the worst of times'. That has been my roller-coaster of a week. The good news is that I only had healthy food available to totally pig out on sooo, I didn't lose and I didn't gain, my internet provider was out for 2 days 'cause of the storms in area, and I had jury duty. YADDA, YADDA YADDA! Such is life, but I realized that even though I was in stress mode I was counting calories in my head (internet down). I think that SP may be becoming a habit.
I need to think on MC terms for the 'what's cooking' idea, I feel like I just survived this week. renee

That's an awesome idea...how could we work it into a an MC and, more importantly, how could our teammies win the Crown? Ok, maybe that's not more important but anyway! LOL

NEWBIE VOTE,
First off I'd like to say what an incredible team leader! I am about to go looking for that calorie free chocolate syrup at Walden farms! That is my inspiration for request of 'what's for dinner'. Daily I have to think of what food to cook, it would be fun to get a 'daily dinner bell' what did you eat challenge, to inspire "ooh, that sounds good", "I never thought of that " weather it's a brkfst, lunch or dinner idea. For instance, I have not eaten pancakes for years because I thought they were too caloric. 3-4inch cakes are 150 cals and 1/4 cup sugar free syrup is 20 calories!!! OMG!
Anyway, that would help me. I take my water like a medication, 3 times a day I fill up my 32oz cup with water(no ice, that's cheating) and just drink till it's gone. Love the exercise and 'mental' MC ideas also.

Welcome new folks!
Look for the new challenge to be posted every Sunday (USA EST) for Monday! I'll post them on a sticky on Monday morning. There is just one mini-challenge per week and a weigh in forum, IF you want to use it. Some folks find it helpful.
:D
Hugs!
