Well, I did 1 1/2 because I wrote one of two stories, but I totally planned my website out and wrote two full articles for it!
I guess that means
***My four:
1. Finish the chapters of the two stories I've been working on for a month 2. Rewrite my research statement for job apps 3. Clean off my desk at work 4. Plan ahead for my website for next week
No day but today ... -Jonathan Larson - Rent

i've made new piles on the bed, but that doesn't disqualify me from my gold crown. :)

patricia, hope u feel better. stepf, taking vitamins isn't that hard. the issue is remembering. make some plan or sign or associate with something you do remember (which for me is NOTHING). my computer reminds me,if i remember to look.

1) Walk 10 miles this week - done (yay!)
2) Sit down and sketch - not done
3) Get kitchen spotless every night before bed - not done :-(
3) No binging - well, had a couple of minor binges, but no major binging, which is what I meant.
In my defense, I fell down the stairs midway through the week and damaged my back, hips, and sprained my wrist. So couldn't sketch with a sprained wrist (still can barely type), and I'm shocked I managed to finish the 10 miles with the way my hip feels.
Now going to take a much deserved nap, LOL!

Neat challenge!
1. Clean out the bedroom closet. 2. Review the two books I've recently read but haven't got around to reviewing. 3. Do my strength training workout (DONE!) 4. Clean up my desk.
I know this challenge is done on Sunday, but these are the things I SHOULD be doing between now and then so I figured why not. :)

Doing good on the goal for running, but no strength training done :( And I'll probably have to work OT to get the audits done, and the boss will be mad about that. Better just clean the fridge!

well I guess I'm on a roll this week. I just finished my first out of three weight training sesions for this week. It was harder than I thought I guess when you stop for a while your muscles forget that it knew how to do some stuff. well my apartment is still a mess- I think I want to wait till after finals but I want to do it this week! I don't know about the other job. I just need work for about two months, I don't really see that happening but Jesus always makes a way. I haven't been on the scale in a while because it's my totm! I gain alot around that time :( so maybe by the end of week I can tell if I made that goal. I will be so happy if I do I have been in the 90's since January!!!!!

Wow. Only 4? I have sooo many things that I want to do but I just never get around to doing it. Here are 4 things that are long overdue.
1. Send a thank you card to the aunt & uncle who sent money for my daughter's birthday. 2. Clean my WHOLE house, not just the parts that people see when they come over (the dust bunnies behind my bathroom door are starting to get quite gross). 3. Take two books out of the library that I've been wanting to read for a long time. Actually reading them will be easy because of my long commute on the train. Getting my butt to the library is the "hard" part. 4. Talk to family about birth dates, etc for the family scrapbook album that I want to make. For this goal, I will aim to do my mom's side of the family.

1. Study for the CPA exam. I've been putting this off for more than 8 years. I finally got serious and studied for one part and PASSED! But now, I've fallen off the wagon again. It was always a split decision - do I exercise or do I study. I'm exercising at lunch now so I have the time to study when I get home. I just need to do it. 2. Write a letter to my Grandma. 3. Send my best friend a donation for March of Dimes fundraiser. 4. Pack my lunch everyday for work.
Come trek with me! On my way to Hope, Arkansas!
I've gone 210.2 miles toward my 385 mile goal to Little Rock.

1. get out the new camera and take some pics of my jewelry. 2. take all the seed beads in the bedroom and put them in a box, best if done with inventory so I can resell them. 3. Make oatmeal - haven't done it for several weeks and I can eat off a batch for quite a while. 4. Take partially done quilts to a friend and pay her to finish them.

Hmm, four goals (not all of them will be weight-related)
1. To walk 10 miles in the next week. 2. To sit down and actually attempt to sketch. 3. To have my kitchen spotless every night before bed. 4. To not binge at all this week.
These are all things I have had negative voices about. Time to replace those negative thoughts with positive ones!

Hmmm. Four goals. Well, here goes. 1. Do 2 sets of upper body ST. 2. Get my teenage daughter to help me do a Spark Page with pictures and all that stuff. Can anyone direct us where to go to put that stuff on I notice people have different background designs and all that. 3.Practice meditating 5-10 minutes every day and stretch. 4. keep within my calorie allowances.

Well, my day with my friend fell thru but I did take the day off and did get a lot of extra stuff done---small freezer defrosted, scatter rugs washed, all laundry washed, dried and folded----but I feel kind of bummed that I did not get to have an enjoyable day with a friend. Actually feeling pretty down about the whole thing. Told my dh i was upset about my birthday---he did not even remember what I had asked for---which hurts immensely. Guess I will try for reading tomorrow while I watch my granddaughter.

It is so hurtful to the soul to feel under appreciated...you are absolutely right though, only you can make you feel better. :D
I heard a saying once, "people can only make us feel bad if we let them".
Now, that doesn't really excuse the boys for not contacting you on Mom's Day, does it? I really don't know what to say about that except I would feel hurt, too. I guess the best anyone can do is say you are justified in your feelings, no doubt.
Hugs to you and Happy Birthday!!! Great list, by the way!

Gee, this is a good one as I am feeling very unappreciated right now by my family. On Mother's day I did not hear from my 2 older sons at all---and one lives 3 blocks from me and the other one 6 blocks---then the next day was my birthday---and again, I did not hear from either of them again---plus my dh did not remember the one thing I asked for---I have not had a birthday cake since my grandmother died 13 years ago and I asked for a DQ Blizzard Cake(My treat for myself when I have been doing very good). And did he remember, NO! So I now am feeling rather down and need to build ME up! 4 things---take a day off and do something fun with a friend---pick a book and start reading again(been busy gardening)---organize my computer desk so I am working in a nicer atmosphere---watch a movie on DVD.

Getting ready for next week early! This weeks MC is an Esteem Week so we'll be doing something to help us feel good about ourselves (read: raise the self-esteem).
I'm a firm believer that if you feel good about yourself and your surroundings, you are half way there! That's why I include an Esteem MC every month. It is JUST AS important as exercise, the way you feel about yourself.
This is once again a repeat one of our most popular challenges from the previous series, so I hope all the folks that have joined since we did it the last time will like it as much as those who did it before. Also, it's a time for those of you who have already done this MC to take a look at your progress from last time. Ok! Strap yourselves in, here we go!
My story regarding this MC: I had indulged in so much negative self talk about my weight for SO long that it literally exhausted me. Lately, since I've gained some weight back, I notice the negative self talk and a little bit of self loathing is creeping back in. It's not only frustrating, it's exhausting. There are some things that I had done to change my life over the last 3 years that had also helped me change the constant negative talk in my head....for instance, starting to hike again, an activity that I always loved when I was younger. Simply through meeting Katy (WYULTRARUNNER), a member of this group, I was inspired to begin hiking again. I joined a group of hikers back in February 2007, then I joined another group of hikers and I actually went on a 10 mile hike for the first time in my life!! Since then, I hiked to the bottom of the Grand Canyon, 10 miles in, and slept down there for 4 nights in July! Hiking also led me to pick up another previous interest: photography.
I've always been interested in photography, even took a class many moons ago to get better at it. In 2008, I won 3rd place for this photograph in an Atlanta Photography contest: farm3.static.flickr.com/2414/2397948422_ and just recently, one of my photographs was PUBLISHED in a National Park Annual Report. Very exciting!
Also, I started taking Ballroom Dance lessons 2 years ago last August and I may begin actually competing by the end of this year!!!
I'm not telling you these things to brag. I'm telling you about them because I very nearly didn't begin any of them. Why?
Because at the last minute, my mind started working overtime from the negative angle and it began telling me, 'WHAT are you thinking? You aren't fit enough to be hiking 10 miles!" or "You haven't danced in YEARS, you might look stupid!" and "Pssst....You are no better a photographer than anyone else!"
That same old negative self-talk popped up and also kept me from doing things I love or am interested in. Truth is, it was paralyzing fear of failure that was speaking to me. I was afraid of being last in the line on the hike, I was afraid of holding up others, I was afraid I'd look like a fool on the dance floor, I was afraid of an ambulance having to come and get the collapsed fat girl off the mountain. Many scenarios, none of them good, ran through my head.
there is such a huge sense of accomplishment I have for doing some of these things and the feeling of self worth that it gave me is still here! Doing things that I didn't think I could do has done so much for me. Soon after losing to my goal weight, I decided to try ballroom dancing and after sitting in my car for 20 mins, took a deep breath and went in. Know what? I had the time of my life!
So, the Esteem MC this week is to List 4 things that you have been meaning to do but simply have gotten a round to it yet. They do NOT have to be "big" things. For instance, one of the things from a previous list of mine was to find my picture album of the year I went to Switzerland (1989) and dig up a certain photo out of that album. For some reason, I just couldn't seem to get to that though I'd started it several times. Another thing was to just START reading a book I've had for the last year. I don't know why but making time for reading is hard and it's something I love so much. Another thing was for me is to sign up for Ballroom Dancing classes, for example. I can now check that one off! :)
Perhaps it's just cleaning out your closet...whatever!
Rules of the MC: The list must only include things for yourself. It cannot include things that you want to do or buy for your family or your children.
Post your list of the 4 things you haven't had time to do in this Forum; things that have slipped through the cracks of your busy life or that you've wanted to do but for whatever reason haven't done.....and then pick ONE of those things and actually DO IT by the end of the MC (end of the week).
Want extra credit? (LOL) Pick and DO more than one thing on your list for the Golden Crown Award this week!
Post your thoughts, feelings and experiences about doing this one thing here in this Forum as well. Post a link to a picture...we'd love to SEE it, see you, get to know you better through your thoughts, experiences, failures & achievements with this Team.
I wish you all great success this week. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask them....as always,
Hugs ya'll!
