Brilliant! If you ever get a chance though you must check it out. They serve the most divine veggie buffet lunches. I could spend a fortune in that shop! emoticon

Tofu can be bought at most health food stores or at Asian markets. Like Celest said, it's basically compressed soya beans that absorb other flavours really well and is great as a meat substitute. If you can't find it there, try the fresh earth store who stocks earth balance which is, in my humble opinion, the best out there. They have all the tricky stuff, like nutritional yeast, that seems rather hard to find in this country and they deliver to your home for R35. They're based in Randburg, if I'm not mistaken.

I should have added that when I'm cross......I switch to Afrikaans, then my brain finds all the words I need. Afrikaans is much more descriptive, so its a good taal to be cross in. emoticon

Hey Hannelie, you're at least speaking English.....we aren't attempting your first language emoticon
Funny thing is, I was born speaking Afrikaans, my surname was Malherbe. But my mother remarried when I was very young to a British man and I became a Parsons. My step-father couldn't understand a single word of Afrikaans, so we all switched to the queens English.
To this day I battle to wrap my tongue around Afrikaans, but I write it well....strange but true.

It is mashed soyabeans. It's easy to cook, can be baked or fried once cut into slices and added to almost any food like pasta, rice etc. Its not that calorie friendly and also high in fat...but if you are a vegetarian, its a really good source of protein.

I also thought of every day challenge. Something extra, like do some extra ab-training today.
Or let's all drink a cup of herbal tea
Every day something new something extra. It can be exercise, nitrition, reward, even a discussion about a certain topic..

The Spark Insider also gave some great ideas wrt the areas that one should consider covering when making team goals. Maybe have a look around the site to see if you can find an article to help you with your decision! :)

What about a place where we say what went wrong AND what action we plan on using to prevent it happening again, because after all, we are as good as our weakest link, therefore we need to recognise our weakness and have a plan of action in place.
Just a thought.

Wow what a great response..

Ok we can only have 5 challenges at a time.

1. Fitness minutes
emoticon I must put an average fitness minute goal in. What will be a good average for all of us? Maybe 30min per day? emoticon

2. Recipy challenge
I do love this one, because of our food is different, it will be really helpfull. I also think it will overcome the question from what are we eating each day. Or maybe we can combine the two. We can track the goal in our "other goal" and then it will be automatically add to the team. Then I can make a forum for that challenge where we can write our recipy and say what we eat today.

3. Weigh in I think it is a must. It's what SP is about. At the end rock bottom we are all here to loose some weight. I also think it will be inspiring to see how we as a team is doing together.

4. I also like the idea of new friends invite. It will give our team a big boost and we get more sparkpoints. Bobby911 is the only MR. on our team at the moment and then he is young too, so if I must put myself in his shoes, he must feel abit lost between all our women friends. This team is for male and female and all ages. We need to make it interesting for them all.

That leave us with one open space. We can add water, fruit and veggies, but most of the teams have these goals. If we choose to take these goals we are different of the rest of the teams and that I like. We are South Africans !!!

You could assign a buddy for the month. You mail everyone and ask if they would like to participate, and then team them up.

I love the recipe challenge, the weight and the fitness minutes. Kms won't work for me as I do bootcamp and we don't measure kms. Calories could be problematic as I think we all have different amounts but what could work is how many days within the week did you stay within range.

For simplicity sake I think the weight, fitness minutes and "in range" should be hosted in one thread, so once a week you post all three stats, and then the recipe challenge on another thread?

I really like the receipes idea and we should definitely do the weight, fitness minutes and water.

Perhaps we could also do a challenge showing how many calories where eaten for the day.

I am also interested in what food everone is eating, to see what is working for everyone. It fine to track your calories and fitness but I believe quality of food is also very important, and I'm not always sure if I have got it right. Maybe we can do something around this topic. Like maybe "What did you have for breakfast?" and "how many calories?".

Are you going to set up the Fitness Minutes so that they are automatically picked up from the Quick Start tracker (or whatever it's called) - so that it will then appear automatically on the Team Digest?

I accepted a Challenge from a friend at the beginning of the year - she lives in the USA where she has health difficulties as well as weather restrictions - she has to walk a cumulative marathon (in her apartment, in the street, at work) - I have to do a minimum of two cumulative marathons month on treadmill or around the neighbourhood, beach walks etc. We are only accountable to each other - but it does add up on my Excel chart as well as my SP monthly personal challenge

I guess I could log those miles (kms) each time I knock off a completed distance - if it fits your challenge

I find myself falling into a menu rut. I have been pretty focused for the last six months, and am doing ok, but I find the meals I prepare boring. Its not diet boring - but repetition boring. So could we maybe have a recipe challenge? Maybe a challenge to try at least one completely new recipe a week (If it turns out great we can also share the recipes). And as south africans we will contribute recipes with local ingredients.

what do you think?

I can do the fitness minutes and the weight, the km's will not work for me due to a medical condition and walking/jogging is currently still a big problem for me.
There can be other small goals like, drinking 8 glasses of water. No eating after 7 pm, simple things like that. There could even be other things like start the day positive, how to handle situations.
In our church we got this thing, before you act, you need to think, What will God do?

It's almost November and I want to put up some new goals for our team..
Please tell me what are you thinking about these teamgoals?

1. The fitness minute is just resetting, I think it's a winner. Every one can take part.

2. Km challenge.
Let's track our km and see where we end up at the end of Nov. We can start a virtaul walk, let's say we start at Table Mountian, or Cape Point and heading to Joburg...
I need your ideas on this one.

3. Weigh-in challenge.
I was thinking we can lock all the weigh we lost and see how much as team we can loose in one month.

Please decide with me...
