i don't follow the meal plans from sp, but i do use the recipe site that is linked to it. i search for recipes that cook from "scratch" so that i can always find the ingredients in south africa. also, recently pick n pay and spar are both offering healthier options and wider variety - i was able to find things i hadn't seen in years. don't worry about sticking 100% to the meal plans, just stay in all your ranges, read the articles, and remember to start moving. the rest will fall into place.
Hello and Welcome!! You are going to love Sparks. I also have a daughter with special needs, one aged 2 and one 3mnth. The best thing about SP is the people you meet, and of course the nutritional counter. It took me a while to really figure it out though. Have lots of fun Best wishes

Hi, I've just joined this site so am a bit of a novice with posting etc. Looks great tho. Am located in the Natal Midlands. Am already certain I'll struggle to get some of the ingredients on the recipes. Has anyone else struggled? If so, what do you do? Are you all using the recipes from this site or your own??? I have 2 children (one of them is autistic) and am a bookshop owner and pre-school teacher. I stopped smoking 5 months ago (yay for me!) and have subsequently put on around 7kgs!!! Hence my being here. Please keep in touch as I'll need all the support I can get! Good to be here!
