I'd go for the home-made option too. (I do quite often). Use extra lean steak mince (or pork mince is lower in fat), grated onion, steak seasoning and voila! You have a healthy burger to enjoy - cheese optional. I can't eat wheat, so don't have a roll with it, but load up on salad and have no more than 8 chips (oven cooked), so I don't feel like I'm missing out at all. If you want to really push the boat out, dry fry some onion cut into rings, or use a spray of low cal oil spray and then you'll really feel pleased with yourself! Enjoy ! and have a great weekend. oh yes - fish always leaves me feeling hungry 2 hours later!!
Don't put off until tomorrow the exercise you can do today!
Make your own burger at home, you can have on a whole wheat roll and load it will tomoatoes and lettuce and gerkins. If you grill your patty then it wont be fried and by making it yourself you can control what you throw in then at least you wont feel too left out and dont have chips, rather put some sauce on your burger or even some cheese, lol. You deserve to spoil yourself and not feel guilty about it and you will feel like you achieved something if you dont give in to temptation. and dont stress about gym, working out when you sick is not such a good idea anyways
For me, it depends on your level of discipline, I was doing really well for 2weeks, and i experienced the same on the scale, I gained. :( - So i went out for dinner & had steak and rice at cattle baron, the next morning, I skipped gym, and a friend suggested spur for lunch - I figured, what the hell, my hard work didnt pay off anyway. But, I'm happy to say - I have climbed back on my wagon, i am eating really well, and exercising when I can, I weighed & measured at the beginning of the month and will do the same next month. But i will not be tempted by take out - and im a huge take out person - but nope - I would go for the hake, when it pays off next month - the joy will far out weigh the guilt - I vote hake :) xxx
I've been fighting the good fight for the umpteenth time. Its been three weeks this time. I've been doing well. Exercising, eating well, the works. Staying within my calorie range and sometimes falling below.And losing. This week was no different, however, for some unknown reason, I gained some weight.Since Monday I gained 650g. Which isn't much in some peoples eyes, but if it were a loss of 650g, wouldn't you celebrate? The opposite is true for me. Sitting here, I am a little disappointed that I opted not to go to the gym this morning. I've had a sore throat for 3 days now and this morning had to fight to breath through a blocked nose and a wheezy chest. It would have made my choice a little easier. Now, here is the catch. I've been dreaming of a steers burger for a couple of days now. And I've just sat here and started planning my day around one for tonight. It is still early and I've only eaten 319 cals so far. I'm planning a light salad for lunch and I'm holding out for a Steers chicken cheese burger and small chips to the tune of 754 Calories! My only concern: Sodium 2564
What is your take on this? Should I rather eat my grilled hake and salad while my family eats their Friday night take-away? Or could I take a chance on gaining a little more tomorrow (sodium=water retention) and enjoy a STEERS burger?
