That tip might have been from the Fitness, they have some serious attitudes about slimming right down.

I always go for salad and sushi. Sushi is delicious and not a big diet sin, and I don't feel deprived. Got this tip in a SHAPE a while ago. Have salad with dressing on the side, then dip the prongs of the fork into the dressing before forking the salad. It has the dressing taste concentrated in your mouth and you will use a lot less than if you drench it.

Hi Sheila

i live in Jhb and going to Durban for the weekend, i really want to avoid eating out as much as possible but if i do im going to stick to salads and veg and go for the healthier options! great idea im definitly going to pack fruits and nuts for the trip :) thanks a mill.

Hi Tam - welcome - where'd you live? I'm in Cape Town!

Just been on a trip - took fruit (fresh and dried) and nuts and bought more along the way

In restaurants, stuck to protein and veg and fruit mostly - left all starches alone - no rice, pasta, potatoes, but that's cos I'm gluten intolerant and other things too - but it saves lots of bloating!
I was very careful about portion control!!! I ate at regular intervals, and if we didn't stop for lunch I had my nuts/fruits to keep me going. I also don't add sugar to anything and read the ingredients on all packets!

Hi all, so its my first week on SP and we are going away on the weekend, id love to hear tips on how to avoid falling off the wagon! what alternitives should i choose when eating out if i find myself in that situation! look forward to hearing from everyone :)
