I was watching Ruby on The Style Network DSTV.
It is a reality show about Ruby's weightloss journey. (I know its not very deep or intellectual but I love her) She is a very morbidly obese redhaired sweety pie who turns every acquaintance into a friend and or devoted follower and hugs everybody.
At the beginning of each program she lists what she wants to do when she is thin, a Skinny List or something.
She wants to ride a horse, fit into a bathtub, ride a bicycle, sit on a guy's lap, etc.
What do you want to do when you are skinny?
I want my husband to be able to pick me up and carry me around the house again.
I want to walk the aisles in Woolies and not knock clothes off racks.
I want to get into my 4x4 and not have it dip as if I am driving through a pothole.
I don't want my Rotweiler to cry as if I am skinning him alive when I accidentally step on his toe.
I want to make less noise when I run on the treadmill.
I want to do pull ups in the gym like all the hard core gym bunnies
That is me. What do you want to do when you reach goal?
Klimb Kili, run Comrades, Argus, Midmar?
Wear bikinis, skinny jeans?
It will be fun to know what motivates us Southafricans
