Hi Carol, congratulations on making it through Mother's Day without eating cake!!! It sounds like despite your Mother's slipping in junk food that you have done an excellent job with helping her. It is not always the older person who sets the best example. Keep up the excellent work.

Hope you all had a great mothers day. Hugs for all mothers. I was a good girl today i was tempted to eat a piece of cake but I restrained myself and had strawberies instead. So we all struggle at times with temptation. My mom is great trying to make me fail. she is always buying me cake and candy. No matter how many times I tell her I can not eat that. She is also a diabetic she sneaks junk food when she goes shopping. . she is not on insulin. she is 79 years young and their is no way to change her now. She lives with us and I do my best to keep her healthy. I had her move in with us 7 years ago and since she is no longer eating fast food and in restaurants she has lost 80 lb. Got her AlC down to 5.4. Wish me luck I go and get my AlC done this week. you all have a great week Love and Light Carol

Thanks Darlene' That is one of my favorite scriptures. Here's one that you may enjoy too.Which states:God is always thinking about me/us.. How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, Oh God! how great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee. Pslam 139:17,18

I remember when my children were with me and my world was center around them, it was wonderful. Now they are parents and I hope their world is as rewarding. I hope the same for you mothers whose children are still at home. And for those of you mothers who have grandchildren i wish you a special day with your children and grandchildren.

Welcome!. Take this new Journey one day at a time. Use the trackers exercise eat a healthy balance each meal drink plenty of water. Remember we all have bad and good days. we are all here to help. I became a diabetic 3 years ago. But that said I feel healthier now have more energy. I am slowly getting off of insulin I am down to 13 units once a day. Hope to be totally off. Now that my doctors found out I also have a hormone imbalance I am on hormones and the weight is now starting to come off. Even though I have been exercising alot for the last 3 years the weight was not coming off. But since jan the scale is moving which makes me a very happy girl. We are all here to support you. to this Great Team! I am so glad you are having success now with your blood sugars. I do agree that good nutrition and exercise go hand in hand in fighting diabetes or I should say controlling blood sugars.
Happy Mothers Day to all of us moms. It's good to be able to come to a new group that addresses the issues and dilemmas of diabetes. I am a type2 diabetic who use to be on the Omnipod insulin pump. The past 3 weeks I have been insulin free and glad not to be a human pin cushion any more. In the process of being free I had to find the right combinations of meds that would work with my system.(lactose intolerant) plus experience insulin resistance since Oct 2012 gained 40 lbs .That being said I'm excited about my recent blood sugars. Yesterday morning I had a reading of 393 2 hours later it dropped to 265 which is very high; finally got the pharmacy and my insurance company to agree on the amount of medicine to dispense . I got up today took the metforim and glimerperide without any stomach upset. My first reading of the day was 260 . the next reading after taking my meds was 144 I never have been so excited to finally see I'm in my range 80-160. Stating all that I give God all the glory. My journey on insulin for 5 years has come to a new state of mind and healthy eating (which I struggled with not having any discipline and lying to myself and not realizing how serious this disease is.). So after slowly educating myself finding the right doctors who were more interested in my heatlcare instead of getting the insurance fees. I have struck an balance. I want to live and help others to understand that they don't have compromise their selves from lack of education. Looking forward to sharing with all of you.
