Kind of sad, actually... spent the time at my former in-laws. They bought a pre-cooked turkey, which turned out to be only HALF cooked... we carved the edges, and put it back in the oven to finish.
Brian's mother is suffering from advanced COPD and osteoporosis... and not doing well. She's a sweet lady and doesn't deserve that frustration and fear. It's hard... but she was having a good day, and that makes it worth the trip. A lot to be grateful for this year...

I had a wonder Thanksgiving! My BS was 123 after our 1st meal (2 hours). My BS was 115 after our second meal (2 hours). I did have dessert and I even got in 30 minutes of exercise. My FBS this morning was 96.

Did well yesterday. Made some healthy switches with food (fats and sugars) and my family never noticed the difference! Had a little bit of everything, felt satisfied, and my tracking was all within limits. BS this morning was 104.
Hubby and I got out for a nice two mile walk yesterday. Then drove into town for an all-you-can-eat buffet. Lingered for two hours, eating slowly, talking, sipping hot coffee. We did not eat 'all we could' and left feeling satisfied but not stuffed. I limited myself to those things I really love, but don't get too often.
Came home, logged our food, and I was within calorie range for the day, even after the decadent chocolate cake for dessert -- slightly over on carbs, slightly under on protein. BS was 104 this morning, so it's all good.

FBS 173 - That says it all. Actually I was doing very well until my daughter started crying about her grandmother not being here this year (my mother passed in May). I let my emotioins take over my eating. So many family and friends were there but the two that were missing (My mother and my daughter who passed 2/2009 at age 36) had the greatest impact. I guess we always want what we cannot have. Anyway, will do better today.

Stayed home, had a serving of hamburger helping for lunch and two hot dogs for supper. Moving Sunday, and didn't want to travel, before moving day, due to gas prices. Enjoyed the day with my son, and phone calls and watching movies on tv when resting. Hugs Linda

Ohio is the state I was born in, raised in, and lived in all my life!
I survived! Cheated with a bit of gravy and some carrots that tasted too sweet to have been cooked without sugar. It was a beautiful day, good company. How was your day?
