I wish you the best! I understand your dread, being on insulin is also a fear of mine. I know it works for many, but I still am scared @#$#@ of it!

hi welcome back to the team
I am new around here, just 2 months now. Sometimes the insulin is necessary when your pancreas is failing. This happened to my Mom. She feels alot better than she has in years on the insulin. No one likes needles, and giving myself one gives me goosebumps and chattering teeth. But the insulin needle, is less painful than the blood testing pokes. I know personally that excercise means alot, even with fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis. Just do the best you can, and keep going, don't let yourself quit. Read motivational material at least once a day. Turn on your favorite music and dance. And at the end of your day reward yourself. I do this by having a bubble bath in candlelight, and I have a special snack. I place low fat cream cheese on a peice of my rye bread light and spread diabetic jam on top. Its delicious and it doesn't make you cheat. I know this is easier said than done. It is tough, but its do able. Just do it one day at a time. If you are sick or are in pain take a day off and look for spark recipes, and rest. Be as active as you can on the message bosrds, others help provide the spark. Now to take my own advice and conquer this diabetes dilemna. We are all in this club together, all be it we never asked to join this club. Hope this helps, I always try and fix things and sometimes I make a lecture out of it. That is not my intent. I will light a healing candle for you. Brightest blessings

Welcome back. Insulin helped me have a lot more energy. My doctor is slowly reducing my insulin only taking 20 units once a day.

No one WANTS the needles... at least at first! LOL

I wouldn't go back to oral meds now if they PAID me! Life is so much easier without the side effects!

Hi and welcome back! Sometimes water and exercise can make a huge difference. I've been battling one infection after another making my BS go out of whack. I'll find out Monday how my A1C turned out.

Big hugs!

I'll keep working at it. I'm worth it. You're worth it too.

Every day is a new day. Gotta keep on keepin' on, no matter what!

Thank you Lady Mary and CDog. I am nervous and worried. Didn't eat improperly, however, my exercise was off.

Not a good reason to get back on the bandwagon, but certainly a wake up call! You can do this. It's a battle, and you can do it.

Hi all,
I'm back and not for a happy reason. My BS went zooming out of control. Dr. will be doing a test to see how much insulin my pancreas is producing.

Dr. added Januvea to the 4 metforim 500mgs I am taking. Fingers crossed - I really don't want to take the next step to insulin.
