The big news in the Levine household is . . . JASON HAS A NEW JOB! He had his interview w/the insurance company in Kentucky, which he felt went well. However, they would not be making a decision for at least several weeks.

Prior to his leaving for that interview he’d received a call offering him the job w/the WI Insurance commissioner’s office. He explained that he had to meet his obligation for the interview in Kentucky but would call him immediately. He did and his start date is . . . MONDAY! Can I tell you I imagine the sigh of relief was heard around the world.

So, we start a new chapter in our house. I am hoping it’s a GOOD chapter . . . I . . . WE . . . will make it a good chapter.

I made it through 4 days of VBS without any problems. I brought foods that my husband and I could handle. We both worked in the Snack Shack so it could have been disastrous!

Friday – Well yesterday was a completely gorgeous day. All the doors and windows were opened and spent lots of time outside. Looks like today may be a repeat!

What a tragedy with that passenger jet being shot down. Criminal. Just insane. Many of those people were headed for an educational conference in Australia. So many lives lost, so much humanity lost with these events. **SIGH** HUGS and prayers for those families affected.

Ready for the weekend then a busy week next week. Jason goes to KY for another interview. So, getting ready for that.

7,1 this morning and A1C from the blood sugar logging app I use from the last 10 readings I did is 6,6 so thats good want it to be under 7.0 but lets see what it is after a month or 30 readings :) Keep you posted.

Thursday – another cool day, but going up to 72. Already out for my walk and it was 50 F! Moved fast!

Talk w/Mom daily, but she is really declining w/the memory. On the plus side, she is walking w/Dad every day!!! I am glad for that, because that is stimulating to her brain. Still awaiting Dad’s appointment w/the primary care Dr. That’s on the 25th. **SIGH**

That’s about all the news that’s fit to print. Lots of catch-up from when I was doing my articles, but generally caught up now. PHEW!

Sparkmckenzie: Have been busy lately, sorry! But did see your questions today.

1. The #'s you see posted are either the A1C or FBS.

2. If you go to OTHER GOALS page, all you have to do is enter the # of times/day you tested. If you tested 2 time, just enter 2. I initially thought you entered your blood sugar # there, too. It's just the # of times you tested.

Good morning everyone and yes today is a good morning. I do have a question, what are all the numbers that I see posted on this page from the members? Is that the Glocose monitoring test? if it is, yesterday i was 111mg/dl pre dinner and 139mg/dl post dinner. Today I have to test pre/post lunch so it will be later today.

One more question, on the teams group goals on sparkpeople tracking "Check Blood sugars daily 120 twice per day" How does this works? because I get monitor twice a day, but when you input the number on the tracker, it only allows one number to be inputted on sparkpeople tracker. please explain so I could input the correct information.

PORK RINDS off the pork roast was my teething biscuit in England. English bacon has little fat under the skin. Pork is roasted with skin on and it is scored before roasting so everyone would pull of a hunk of the rind. YUMMMMMM!

My blood sugar is better today @104 but I gained a pound. I am also tired didn't get much sleep was on call and had to work most of yesterday and last night.. On a positive note. I went outside and got some pineapple mint that is growing in my yard. put it in a picture of water and some lemon juice with a small amount of splenda.. tastes pretty good and refreshing.

Monday – well, a busy Sunday. Had several errands to run. Got it done, though! It was one of those days I didn’t feel like eating, but knew I had to, so I did. Besides had to cook for Jason and Clara!

Working my way through figuring out how to take care of Mom and Dad together! He still doesn’t want me to be there, but I’m a “sore loser”, so plan on winning this one!

Gorgeous day, but will be hot and humid. The sun came up and it was hot for my morning walk already . . . early in the morning! But supposed to cool off the next several days.

Friday – Happy Birthday USA! NO special plans, just a BBQ later in the evening (nothing fancy, grilled portabella burgers, broccoli slaw, banana “ice cream”. Will watch the fireworks on TV. I am so over getting into huge crowds like that!

Things went well @ the dentist. Have yet another molar with a cracked filling. He was pushing a crown but after talking about it he agreed . . . . he’d re-do the filling and that would be just fine. Uh huh . . . one less payment towards his yacht! Ok . . . don’t know if he has a boat, but you know what I mean! LOL

Did get my morning walk in. The downtown area is all ready for the parade, decked out in buntings. Looks pretty!
Lots of canines and their humans walking!
