I'm going with my Mom to have her outpatient surgery done tomorrow. It's one surgery in the am and a reconstruction surgery in the afternoon. It's going to be a long day.

You might try working out for a few days. It always makes me feel better and gives me the energy to get things. emoticon

I try to do a 10 minute burst of calisthenics first thing in the morning to get my blood pumping. It doesn't take long and really improves my mood. emoticon

at 132 lbs., u r entitled to an *occasional* donut..

I see a stuffed person. I was not hungry. I had some calories left. I hadn't eaten enough fiber...
so I had broccoli, mushrooms, avocado and garlic. enjoyed it, but now i'm stuffed. not sure if I should feel virtuous.

Every morning when i wake and every evening when i go to bed i mentally run through a list of all the things for which i am grateful, so it's not a case of "poor me".

i probably look very different when i am talking and smiling with friends but i don't smile at myself when i look in the mirror so that is what i see.

As you look in the mirror think of all the people out there who have things worse, all those that are on the streets or don't have food to eat. Think of those are sicker. Try to look in the mirror and the beauty that is still there. See how fortunate you are. Sometimes we just need to try to alter our mind set.

I have always been comfortable looking at myself in the mirror. But about a month ago, I started seeing someone in the reflection of a mirror or glass door, and I'd wonder who that WAS, because I live alone. I'd be surprised to realize the person in the mirror was me.

And now, when I get up in the morning, I spend a little extra time looking at this changing face, just to get used to what I look like. I've never seen me like this before, that I can remember!! Talk about an extreme makeover!

This is a pleasant change to get used to, but kind of weird, too. It's like my brain still expects to see the old face every morning.
