NANCY - - This is the only place my husband can be seen by a doctor, have surgery, or whatever as he is on Workman's Comp (1994 accident). We use to have to go back and forth from the bottom of TX to N.D. every year but then his dr/surgeon wrote to them and told them that this was a hardship and that every other year would be more than enough for his visit to see him.

Crazy government!!!

Joyful - Welcome! Starting small is the best way.

Judy - Did you have to travel that far for the surgery, or did something happen while you were traveling? I hope you get to go home soon.

Rachael - Have fun with Bible School!

Hi Everyone,
Been super busy getting ready for Vacation Bible School, so you may not see much of me this week. I need to really try to eat good because I am not going to have any me time till Sat. But that's okay, I really enjoy Bible School. We made a big whale out of black plastic and you blow it up with a fan and you can go in it. It is so cool.
Hope you all have a great week!!

Hello everyone! Just thought I'd pop in a minute and see how everyone's doing. Been living in a motel and eating restaurant food since June 17th. I'm (we're) tired of both things!!! I want my own bed, my grilled food, etc etc etc!!!!

My DH had knee surgery here in Fargo, ND. and he gets his 35 staples out on Wed (23rd) and sees the surgeon (hopefully for his release to go back home) on the 20th of August. He's presently in physical therapy 3 times a week and doing quite well.

PAM - Sounds like you had a great little vacation/reunion. So happy for you!!

Lots of new members on here since I was last here. That's good to see!! This is a great team !!! Hopefully, when we get to return back down to TX, I will be able to start doing one of these challenges myself. I'm looking forward to it.

Well, we had a huge storm with 60-100 mph winds and thunderstorms coming our way and due to his us in less than an hour so I'm going to get off of here myself.

Hopefully, I will see you guys the end of August.

Darla - I count vacuuming as exercise too. I try to move as fast as possible so it feels like a good workout. Greet job upgrading your gym membership!

Crystal - Congrats in your loss! I used to work for a lady that would revise her written documents several times. It does get frustrating.

Pam - Welcome back! I'm glad you had a good time. The hot tub sounds heavenly.

I had a busy day today. I have my monthly meeting with my boss tomorrow and am trying to get one of my reports done. I usually have it done way before now, this whole month had been crazy. Hopefully I can get it done before the meeting tomorrow.

Hi Team,
I think things are starting to calm down. Just got back from my family reunion had a blast. I had so much fun and it was great to meet family that I have never met before. I got to sit in a hot tub and just relax. I slept great in the clean mountain air and had absolutely no trouble with my allergies. I feel so refreshed and I am trying to catch up on all that I have let slip through my fingers this month.

I will catch up a little later today. I still have a lot of catching up to do.

Kathy, Thank you for doing a challenge for me. emoticon

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. I actually showed a loss on Friday and again today. We had the bridal shower on Saturday and it was great. I didn't eat as much as I expected to, and even though we have tonnes of leftovers, I froze the stuff with wheat for another day.

Super busy and stressed today at work so I won't have time to eat for hours still and I haven't even had breakfast yet. I'm just waiting for my brother to approve a document, then I need to hand deliver it. He's driving me CRAZY!! I'm on my 7th revision for him so far.

Did not dance today but I did play music while I vacuumed the lr, Dr and stairs and then shampooed the carpet. I did count it in my exercise because it hurt..lol

I did run by the gun today and upgraded my membership. It was only the days a week and I decided that by paying 5.00 more a month I could visit any fitness19 gym any day. So because I know I can come here when I'm not feeling it I did it. I'm going to try and go tomorrow.

Thanks guys!

Rachael - I guess I did! Sounds like you got a workout too, carrying all that into the house. My husband had the brilliant idea of loading all the grocery bags into laundry baskets to carry into the house. One laundry basket holds several bags of groceries!

Kathy - Thanks for the reminder. I'll take the ibuprofen right now!

Nancy- sounds like you got your arm workout in after all 😉

Kathy- love dancing!

Crystal- everything takes time, things should start looking up, just don't give up.

Everyone- Have a awesome day!

It's raining again, but I have to do laundry. I went to Town yesterday to buy vbs stuff and groceries. My car was packed, with help from my husband and kids we brought everything in and I'm sitting here thinking 1/2 of it has to go back in the car to go to the church lol.
I never do good on grocery day eating, by time I got home it was time to take the kids to VBS. I am kinda glad ours us only three days next wk, because I'm wore out from this one. It's a good kind of tired though.
Enjoy your weekend!

Kathy - I'm already feeling it in my back. My arms felt it last night and today it's both my arms and back. Tonight we're doing our yard. My husband has a bad back so he can't really do much of the trimming.

Nancy - LOL! Now there is a fun thought - get everyone in the office to dance - turn it up and watch the faces - something that will bring back memories. For me, if you turned on something from the 80's - I'd smile real big and join you - just sayin'

You got a good work out with that trimmer - you'll probably feel it in your back tomorrow - things like that usually hit me on the second day

Crystal - I'm sure you are busy at this time of year! I hope you feel getter soon. Being in a fog is not a good feeling.

Darla - I think you're smart to wait and spend more on a tracker. I've used the cheap pedometers before and they just aren't accurate. Greet job hitting the gym!

Kathy - Thanks for posting the daily challenges. I don't thin I'll participate in the dancine though. I'm at work and people will think I'm nuts!

We moved the yard at our daughter's old house last night. I usually push mow around the edges and places my husband can't get with the rider. The mower wouldn't start so I had to use the string trimmer everywhere. My arms are feeling it today!

Challenge: This is a fun one!

Dance!

Whatever you are doing - turn on the music and dance

Do this any time of the day and evening

Dance while you are doing dishes, laundry, cleaning - when a commercial comes on with fun music - get up and dance

Turn on the music and dance

It's great exercise

I remember hearing Beyonce' on tv a while back, during an interview telling the host that the way she kept her figure was she danced around the house all the time. She said she would be cleaning or whatever and just dance.

Think about it; a song is like 3 minutes - dance and then later - do it again

What is your favorite song to dance to?

One of mine is

Red High Heels by Kelly Pickler - the video is adorable.

Here, go play it, turn it up and dance with it: tinyurl.com/mebpe4g

Tell us all what you decided to dance to today

Fabulous way to kick start our weekend - Don't you think?

You can't help but smile real big while you are doing this

Bust some moves ladies!

Hi everyone! Does anyone know if these discussions show up on the web? I really don't want some people knowing my business (strangers on here ok, but you know.....lol)

I am trying to attach names, thank you for all the welcomes. I just got back from the GYM, yep I said it the GYM. I joined in March and this is only the second time I have been. I spent 20 mintues on a bike, tried the elipical and found out that my knees do not like it, not to mention I looked pretty funny messing up.

So day 2 and I have exercised twice in a row. I found a foot bike at Aldi that they are putting out next week, I was going to buy a pedometer but seeing the spark activity tracker I might hold off until my birthday and get it (the other one is only 10 bucks and sometimes you get what you pay for.....)

So I want to thank you ladies for the welcome and the motivation to get my but up and go today. I am going to try the arm exercise video and try to get to two and half minutes today. I figure if I keep donig it every day I will get to the end of the video in a week or so.

Thanks,
Darla :)

Hey everyone! Sorry, I've been MIA, lots going on lately. Work has been insanely busy with the heat wave we've been having (we sell and install air conditioning) and my brother was in Vegas for his bachelor party. He had a great time, we worked our butts off lol.

Been having a tough time as we changed my thyroid medication dosage again. I should be feeling better, but I'm really not. I've been eating a lot of wheat though lately. Craving it a lot and it does make me foggy so after a couple of things this weekend, like my sil's bridal shower Saturday, I'm going wheat free for a week starting Sunday and see how much different I feel. Maybe the medication is actually working, but I'm making myself feel like this with my food.

Hope everyone is doing well! Weather has finally broken somewhat here, we're expecting rain tomorrow and all weekend, thank the Lord!!!

Kimberly - I think you'll like the Spark tracker. I have a Fitbit and love it!

Rachael - I didn't try the workout, I bet my arms are pretty weak too.

JDrake - Welcome back! It's hard to eat healthy when you're on the road. I like how you're focusing in what you did right instead of what went wrong.

My husband is home this week. I have a herd time getting up early enough to exercise when he's home. I'm planning to walk at lunch. I want to start walking 30 minutes every lunch hour again. I was walking with a co- worker every day but it got too hit to walk outside and she doesn't like to walk inside. I'm going to walk alone of she doesn't want to. I need to get back in control of doing what is right for me.

I'm back...it feels so good to be home and to sleep in my own bed last night (even if I did get into it at 2am). Back to back trips. And if you've read my posts before, you know that when I travel I have a really difficult time not gaining weight--so I think that traveling for 14 days and only gaining 2 pounds is a victory for me! Instead of listing all the things I did wrong, I want to make a list of all the things I did right, and let the poor choices go...
-tried a new activity (my husband and I rented a stand-up paddle board for one hour)
-got into the water every day
-didn't eat everything on my plate when someone else served me more than I wanted
-made a really, really good restaurant choice in the airport
-stood up for myself, and said I wanted to eat out so I could make better choices
-purchased fruit, yogurt, and English muffins for breakfast foods (instead of coffee cake, etc)
-only ate fried seafood one time--and that was just a taste/1 crab ball, 1 shrimp, 1 scallop, 1 grouper nugget); along with a large salad
-shared dessert with my husband twice
-passed up peanuts and pretzels on the airplane'
-didn't soothe my angst with comfort food (this past week we were away due to a death in the family)

Those are the ones that initially come to mind. And I am smiling as I write this, even though I gained two pounds, because I can see all the good choices I made...and it paid off!

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the number of moments that take our breath away...and, remember "slow and steady wins the race".

I don't think they will, I think they only ripen on the vine. I think it's ok to let them get deeper yellow, it's a case of figuring out what stage you like best. I think if you do let them get to the size of a tennis ball they are still ok, but larger than that and the seeds do start to get woody.

Hi all :)

I got my Spark activity tracker in the mail today and I think it's going to be a huge help to motivate me. I sure like making all the little lights glow on it. I have it set at 8,000 steps right now, but will make adjustments if needed. Tomorrow will be my first full day of having it, so that will help me know if it's too much, too little, or just right.

Have a great time, Pam! It'll all still be here when you get back :)

Kathy, I tried that exercise and quit after 1 minute. It was hard! I think going to the gym last night and doing the 30 minute circuit wore my arms out and they still haven't recovered :P

RW, how neat that you do have some lemon cucumbers! Don't let them get too big, or the seeds get woody. I usually pick them when they're just bigger than a lemon, but not as big as a tennis ball.

Hoeing is a very good workout indeed!

I'm still around! Work has been keeping me busy. It doesn't really feel like I have that much to do but the time has flown by. I hope it slows down soon so I have time to check in more often.

ok, I tried that and two minutes in I was exhausted. So I stopped that and switched to core exercises. I did about 6 minutes total. Now that doesn't sound like much but this is the first exercise that I have done in years so I will do two more minutes tomorrow and add on each day. I am saving it to my bookmarks bar. I know 6 minutes doesn't sound like much but at least I did it.

Pam- Enjoy your family reunion - I'm sorry I didn't see your response for help
I'm going to try and help out here with all the moving - I'll challenge myself to take 15 minutes every day to come on here and post a challenge for everyone

For now, here is an 11 minute arm exercise - youtu.be/PLVxxLqRlnI emoticon
Darla - You can do this one since you have the plantar faciatis - this is one I did a lot when I twisted my ankle last year

Hi Team,

Just a quick check in. Ive been working night and day to get ready for the family reunion. I will be unavailable until Monday. No one has responded to my plea to create a new challenge so there will not be one. Im to stressed to worry about it. Im going to have a great time and take some much needed time for me.

Please watch out for any new members as I will not be here to welcome them.

Thanks all have a great week.

Wow! If you could see my calendar right now! I have had a repairman here everyday since Friday having things updated/fixed for the sale of the home. Friday was TWCable at house we are moving in to, Monday was plumber, Today was septic for new pump, etc, tomorrow is electrician, Friday is crawl space - repairing old wood, Mon and Tues - new insulation being sprayed in to the crawl space, Thur - I've been called in to jury duty and something else is happening next week. On top of all of this, I'm working, trying to move and unpack, taking care of my college boy by making meals and going places with him - I am so hoping this will close soon. After the Tues of next week, they do the final walk through and then we'll know.

So, I will be invisible for a bit. Just no time for internet.

Popping in for a quick hello :)

Nancy, it was a nice walk. I'm changing it up today with a trip to the gym to do the 30 minute circuit. I have a women's small group meeting tonight so I won't have time to go walking.

I hope all of you are doing well :)

Rachael - We have the perfect yard for a pool. It's big enough and there are no trees so it would stay clear of leaves. The only problem is we're on septic and the tile field is so ethereal in the yard. I'd settle for an above ground one!

Kimberly - It definitely helps to have someone to walk with. You had a nice walk!

Hi everyone :) It's been a busy weekend for me! I did ok with eating, but did gain just over a pound. No worries, though, I know that this is part of the normal process and I am not going to stop doing what I know is working :)

The upside is that I did walk 4 miles on Saturday morning, the most I've walked at one time ever. Yay! It sure does help to go walking with a friend. I'll be heading to the gym one day a week starting tomorrow and doing the 30 minute circuit to add some of that to my routine. Once it starts getting darker earlier and the weather begins changing, I'll be at the gym almost every evening, using the treadmill and the 30 minute circuit.

I'll be honest, though...my favorite part of the gym is the massage chair! It's my reward for working out :D

Add me to the prayers for Catladyx8.

Nicole, keep doing what works! I know that sometimes I let a gain throw me off track, but I am refusing to let that happen this time. emoticon

Nancy, I always feel good after a workout, too :) Lazy mornings are so nice!

Y'all have a good Monday!

Nancy- glad you got some rest, I like my pool, but I would love to have a inground pool. We gave well water, so that's out of the question lol

Nicole- if I nibble right before bed I wake up bloated. I gave been doing better but it's still a struggle. I used to weigh myself everyday but it made me eat more because it always fluctuated. So now I I weigh on the days I feel good, and see if my clothes fit better.

Pam- praying for catlady, let us know if you hear anything.

Saturday, I did a little yoga, this app I downloaded with TAhition workout on it. Very fun lol
Then I walked/jogged a mile and a 1/2 .
Yesterday I rested, I came home from church and a baptism. Where it included my youngest too. Fixed dinner and took a nap. Then I took it easy.
Today is cleaning day, need to go to the garden but it was raining and right now it's too hot. I am taking my kids to vbs this week at a neighboring church. So it's going to be a busy day. Glad I rested yesterday lol hope everyone gas a great day!

Rachael - I spent yesterday being lazy. We slept in until. 10:30 and took a nap after lunch. It felt good. I am so jealous of your pool! I've wanted one for a long time.

Pam - Thanks for sharing the new about Susan. Please keep us I formed if you hear anything.

Nicole - I'm sure the gain was water, you can't gain that from one bad day. You'll have a getter weigh-in next week.

I got up early today and did my workout. I always feel so much getter after a good workout. My arms are definitely feeling it!

Good morning new team! :-D I'm here

I don't know Catladyx8, but nonetheless... my thoughts and prayers are certainly with her!!!! Hopefully all goes well on the 25th and she has a good recovery.

My weekend was a disaster... ate out way too much and way too much of the wrong stuff. I killed it at the gym/working out yesterday and had an okay 2nd half of the day yesterday... but still too much bad to overcome it all in one afternoon, the scale this morning was up 2.5 lbs (uggggh) hopefully some of its retaining water from the sodium intake... guess I'll see what happens in the next couple days.

Have a great day everyone! emoticon emoticon

Hi Team,

To those that know CATLADYX8, she is having heart surgery on July 25th and is asking for prayer. Please pray for her good health and successful surgery. She is suffering from continuing heart pain and blockage. She has an extensive family history of heart disease and it is essential that she have this done. We want our Susan back on the team with us soon. This has been why she has been goon for so long. Please pray for her.

Thanks Pam. Your fearless leader emoticon emoticon emoticon

Nancy- Get plenty of rest, because it sounds like your going to need it. I hope you end up with more relaxing time then you think.

Pam- Thanks for the kind words, I don't care when I splurge with a serving, but I ate it and felt guilty. It made me go over my cals and I don't think I really wanted it at all. But I just tried to do better today.

Kathy- I did have good snacks, but they are gone lol I love black seedless grapes. I don't go to town till next Thurs. So I am def going to have to stock up. I would not even had the chips but they were leftover from the 4th. I am going to try and reward myself with a infused water and hope that it will help my craves tonight.

Today was a beautiful day, I got in the pool, cleaned it for 45 mins then laid out awhile and then did 50/ 1/2 jumping jacks (didn't use my arms) then 50 scissor 1/2 jumping jacks.
Then 100 butt kicks and 100 high knees. It feels really good to do them, because I cant hardly do them out of the water lol
Then this evening I did my 5k training. So that was about 2.25 miles
It was hot, so I did not do to great on speed.
I am suppose to go up to 15mins next time. I am just now at 10, I don't know if I can do a 15 run yet. If not, I think I am just going to go back to 8mins and work myself back up. I don't want to injure myself to where I can't at all.
I hope you have a great weekend!!

Sorry I haven't been here. Work has been crazy this week. I've been going home from work and doing some cleaning and then going to bed fairly early. We're going to take a day off from working on the duplex. Neither my son nor BIL is available to help. We're going to help BIL work on his girlfriend's rental house. And finish the duplex next weekend. I was hoping for a complete day off, but he's helped us a lot so it's our turn to help him.

RW - for night snacking I munch on blueberries, apple, almonds, grapes (especially black), coconut - not shredded - the big coconut you break and pour the milk out of. I keep all of these in my fridge at all times to snack on when everyone else is eating ice cream and chips. I also keep the Dr Oz 2 week diet veggie broth in mason jars and will drink a cup of that in the evening. Remember how I'm always sharing infused waters? Those are my go to at all times, morning, noon and night. My favorite has been the cucumber/lemon/mint ones. They are very refreshing for me and actually kill the cravings. Now, I don't do all of the fruits I mentioned in the same night - I just grab one however the apple I will combine with the almonds. Coconut is very filling and really curbs the appetite.

I mention now and then that I'm very in to a meal that you can drink hence infused waters, veggie broth, protein drinks, whey shakes, smoothies - especially kale/spinach smoothies

After doing this for several months, you'll notice how easy it is to go to these and you won't crave or be tempted by what everyone else is eating. You'll just be so used to this - you won't think about it.

Good Morning Team,
I'm actually updating in the morning!! I've been having catching up in the evening because I've been preparing for my family reunion.

ANY BODY INTERESTED IN DOING THE CHALLENGE NEXT WEEK AS I WILL BE OUT OF TOWN???

Went to see J's neurologist and he thinks that what J has been going through with the multiple seizures are not seizures at all. He thinks it is an overdose of one of her meds. We took blood levels of various suspicious meds to see if that is it. We're hoping that is it as playing with her meds can be a lengthy process but there would be an end in sight. If this is not the case then she is in for more extensive testing. She has a good doctor that is very concerned about her and very compassionate.

I've gained 5 pounds. I'm sure the stress and lack of sleep and exercise are the main culprits. I have to lose it or I'll have no clothes to wear and can't buy new ones. emoticon

KATHY. I'm almost done with the family tree. Found some cousins that I didn't know existed. All I'm missing are some dates. I think some of them may be lost over time. I'm sure I could get them if I had more time. I'm going to do what I can before the reunion and complete it after the reunion. Facebook has been a very valuable resource for finding pictures of people. emoticon

LINDA. Sounds like your right on target for a good workout day. I would love to be able to play the piano. I've always envied those that could. Where do you live? Il come visit and you can teach me. emoticon

RACHEL. Don't be so hard on yourself. We all need to splurge now and again otherwise we will binge later. Have you read my blog on Making Friends With Your Food? Many have found it very helpful. As long as your not doing all the time then it's not a lack of willpower it's just letting yourself enjoy something you like. You are not on a diet you are on a journey to a lifestyle change. emoticon

Have a great weekend everyone!!! Happy Friday!!!

Hey everyone, I hope your having a great day!
It is a pretty day here in TN. I think today I am going to get in the pool for awhile.
It will take me a hour jus to clean it out from all the rain.
Last night I ate chips and dip, regretting it today. I hate when my willpower goes out the window. Need to do much better today.

Pam- That sounds a lot of work your doing but it will definitely be something great when your done.

Linda- Keep up the great work!

Kathy- I need help on night time snacking. Any ideas to help me with that?

Everyone have a great day!

Hi team,
So sorry I've been absent lately. I'm preparing for my family reunion that's happening next week. I'm doing my side of the family and doing the family tree for our limb of the tree. It spans 5 generations and once it gets going it seems to never stop. On top of that I'm collecting pictures to put on a picture board. It's a lot of work on top of my other responsibilities but I'm having a lot of fun with it and I have located some cousins I didn't even know existed.

DIANE. I'm so glad about your test results. Thank God!! Thank you so much for the prayer. When everything fails He always comes through. Your right. When life calms down the weight will come off. When I can work out again like I used to it will melt away. I wish I had that extra time now. I will have it later. Right now there are other priorities in life. Thank you for the reminder.

LINDA. Sorry about the computer issues. I know it can be very frustrating. Not to worry about not losing anything this week. Just keep the faith. I've go weeks without losing and it can be very frustrating over time. I think it takes time for our bodies to adjust to losing instead of gaining. That's what I keep telling myself anyway. emoticon

RACHEL. I am so glad to hear that you didn't lose any ground on your 5k while you were gone. I don't think you get to count cooking but I know you get credit for the housework ;). If you have to much squash feel free to send me some. I'll be glad to give you my address. I know what you mean about cooking for yourself. My DH is a very picky eater and won't even try my knew dishes. Oh well he doesn't know what he is missing. Your doing really good on your water. Keep it up!!!

NANCY. Your right all that up and down and doing the painting is definitely a workout. I agree with you that we should pay for help in some way and I also think people (even our friends) should follow with what is promised. Stay strong and I hope it's completed soon.

KATHY. You need to break free and splurge every once in awhile. Ice cream is always one of my favorite splurges. Hope your able to get the necessary work done at a reasonable price and get that chapter closed soon. Your such an inspiration in regards to exercise.

CONNECTED. Great about that streak. Keep it going!!

KIMBERLY Great to hear you are doing so well on a lower dose of the new medication. I always love it when I am able to reduce or get rid of a medication. I have done much of that since I lost the weight.

BARB. emoticon nice to hear from you. Now I know you know how important it is to take that medication. It sounds like your a bit down. Get out in the sunshine for a walk. It will change your mindset and give you some exercise as well. I hope your family is doing well.

Linda- I hope you get your computer problems fixed. That has to be frustrating.

Kimberly-Well I got 4 cucumbers and they are all regular. I must have changed my mind. I remember seeing them though. Next yr. I will have to plant some.

Today, I cleaned house, and did 42mins of yoga. Not something I usually do but I am trying to work on flexibility. Then after the rain I went to the garden. Got a pretty good harvest today. Lots of butternut squash and green tomatoes. Some I will fry and others I will let ripen in the window. After that I did get out some weeds. So I am feeling pretty accomplished today, and I am still drinking my water.
Hope your all having a great day!

Good Wednesday, all :) It's a nice day out here. It's only supposed to get to the low 90s, which is wonderful.

Lemon artichoke chicken is a favorite of mine.

Kathy, if you're on facebook there's a great low-carb recipe group called Low Carbing Among Friends which always posts some amazing recipes.

RW, it'll be neat if you do have some lemon cucumbers pop up :) I bought these as seedlings at Whole Foods, but Home Depot and Walmart also carry these seedlings in the spring.

Hi Linda! Hopefully the computer problems are fixed soon. Maintaining is great! It sure beats the alternative ;P

What a nice group of chatters! emoticon

We've been having some computer problems. Just an FYI. I think though it's getting resolved.

I maintained my weight from last week. I'm OK with that, but of course would love to see more weight-loss.

Take care everyone!

Kimberly-
now that I think of it, I saw seeds like that at tractor supply. I thought about getting them, but I don't remember if I did lol. My cucumbers are just now blooming, so I will have to wait to see what comes up lol

Kathy-I wish my family was not picky. More so, my husband. I have a hard time coming up with new recipes that everyone will eat. Usually if I am eating healthy, I'm eating alone. The kids will at least usually try it but not my DH lol

Rainy day so far, need to sweep and do a load of laundry. Then I will see what I want to get into. Have a great day!

Finished lifting weights - getting ready for work - wanted to let you all know I made a lemon artichoke chicken dish last night from the Paleo recipe book and everyone loved it - it's another to add to our favorites list. So far, we have liked every dish I have made from this book

Enjoy the weather!

TW, here is a link to a picture of lemon cucumbers: www.johnnyseeds.com/p-9033-lemon-og.

They are round and yellow, hence being named lemon cucumbers :) They have a mildly sweet cucumber flavor. It's not bitter at all.

I usually pair a sliced lemon cucumber with some fresh mozzarella. The buttery flavor of the cheese compliments the cucumber perfectly.

Here's a quick pickling recipe for them: jilliciousdiscoveries.blogspot.com/2

I'll be using that recipe once I start getting more lemon cucumbers, and I'll adjust the recipe by using red onions (for color) and unfiltered apple cider vinegar. Also, I won't be peeling the cucumbers. Yum!

Nancy- I hope you get to go to bed early and get some rest.

Kathy- your energy amazes me, can I have some of it lol

Kimberly- lemon cucumbers plants, I have never heard of those. What do they taste like?

Pam- Sorry your electric went out. I hate when ours goes out because we never know how long it will take for them to fix it. It used to go out a lot. They put up new lines and that helped a lot.

I am feeling good today, I have ate pretty good. Ate some garden food, I fixed a butternut squash for dinner. I like them all by themselves nothing added. I did add a little cream cheese to my banana peppers but not a whole lot.
I drank my water, maybe a little too much right before I went jogging/walking. I thought I would not make it home but I did lol
Today I had to run 10mins for my max twice. I am still slow though, it tracked me at 14mins and 10 secs a mile. 5mins of that was walking.
Hope everyone had a great day!

Hi Team,
Just a quick note. I will try to catch up later. I was just starting to update SP last night and the power went out. It did not come back on until 4:00 am. Needless to say I am still catching up. Hope all are doing well. Talk more later.

Hi all :) It's been a hot and busy few days over here. Summer in Northern California can be very draining due to the heat.

We are getting my meds worked out, but I can't wait for my actual appt. to officially review how things are going with my blood sugar readings. I'm quite happy that it seems that I won't need to take as much as my doctor thought :)

It's annoying when people say they'll help and then end up not being much of a help at all. And when they're getting paid to help and do that? Beyond annoying.

Hi Barb :) Flowers are so nice to have around! I have quite a few containers on the front porch this year, and they make me smile everytime I get home from being out.

Hi Kathy :) Stash has some great flavors. I also like chai tea, but only in winter when I can have it hot.

Yay for a 4 mile walk! I hope to be up to that by the end of this summer.

RW, summer squash is a favorite of mine. None in our garden this year, no room. I ended up planting 3 lemon cucumber plants, though. One of my favorites.
