Sorry I haven't been posting. Sine I didn't do any housework Monday or Tuesday last week I spent all evening Wednesday and Thursday making up for it. I don't get on here when my husband is home since he's gone so much. We had a mostly relaxing weekend. We had to take his bike into town and stopped at the butcher shop, Sunday we mowed and napped. I must have napped too much because I was wide awake from 1:30 - 3:30 this morning. So I slept instead of,getting up to work out. I did do some cleaning tonight and pulled weeds for a bit. I'm determined to do a little bit of work each night to keep busy and so I dint have to cram it all into two nights.

Hi team,
I had a great time at the Baby Shower yesterday. I ate way to much of the wrong things. Oh well I'll do better today. I started out by going to the gym for 1 1//2 hours today. emoticon We had a lot of trouble with J over the weekend but fortunately my DH took care of all of it and I didn't have to be bothered with any of it.

CARRIE, So glad you are doing so great. My goal is to workout at least 60 minutes too only I'm just going to do 5 days a week. I'm also trying to up my water. I also want to lose 4 lbs this month. I really don't have much confidence in the last one. We are both going to great this month.

PAT, What's up with you today?

Have a marvelous Monday everyone!!!!!

I have been doing really good lately! My exercise minutes have been over 60 minutes per day! I have been really good with my walking and my waters! The only thing I'm having troubles with is staying away from donuts ugh.

Pam, I hope you enjoyed your day of rest. Also, I hope that the problem with J gets under control. P.S did you enjoy the shoer?

Hi team,
Well today is my day of rest. I slept in which I really enjoyed. Now I'm watching TV. Spooky movies. I love these kinds of movies. I did some stretching today and I'm planning on going for a walk as soon as this movie is over with. Simple exercise on the weekend. Problems with J again! My husband has spent a couple of hours over there twice today. The second time J got in his face!! I don't even do that. I'm surprised he didn't lose his temper. I am beginning to think she is starting dementia. She has gotten violent a couple of times and she has never been like that before. If this continues this I'm going to have to put her in a home. I don't want to but this is beyond my ability to help. We will see how things go. I'm going to go to a baby shower tomorrow. I'm really looking forward to it.

MIMI, emoticon It's always nice to have you with us. I'm so sorry to hear about all the drama. I know how that is. I've been dealing with J drama for the last 17 years. The best thing to do is learn to let it go and try not to get caught up in it. Believe me it can really be hard to do. Making sure you take good care of yourself is very important. I pray for your good physical and mental health. Lord please give Mimi serenity and grant her wisdom. Help her to knowthe proper priorities in life. Amen

PAT, emoticon for your encouragement. I can use all the help I can get. emoticon

Pam, you are totally right about the muscle vs fat. The good thing is to more muscle and less fat? You are doing emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon You rock!!!

Afternoon team

emoticon Pam way to go so proud of you

emoticon Vickie way to go

emoticon Hi to everyone else

Wow, I know its been a while since I have been talking on here. Can't believe its been that long and its starting to be a habit time to break it don't you think

July was filled with craziness and it is being to be a normal for us, Last month we had my aunt come stay with us and it just keep on dragging on she was looking at houses while she was down. Now its like can you do this can you do that. She invited us to go stay with her while my dad was at camp my mother and I but got pissed that we had other plans and she's calling getting us to do her stuff as pay back. She has to live with drama, Hopefully things have stopped since she is buying the lot close to my parents. She will be here though and we will have drama you may here me grip on here.

Making it a point to set a side some of the morning hours to devote to spark, workouts and me and will do a brief check in later in the day when I can swing it in. Hopefully this will be me being more active on here and losing workout etc

Hope you all have a great afternoon

Hi team,
Well 2 great things to report today. I crossed the 1,500 mark for fitness this month. I have never done that before. Also I am proud to say that I have been going to the gym everyday M-F. It's not open on the weekends. I took a strength training class on Friday, It was great. There are only about 6-8 people in the class and the trainer works with everyone individually. My legs were so weak Friday night, sore on Saturday and REALLY sore on Sunday. I have been doing a little strength training M,W & F. I only do about 15-20 minutes but my legs are getting stronger. My endurance on the treadmill and elliptical is getting better. I'm not going to work to heavily over the weekend. I don't want to not do anything because I don't want to stop my streak. emoticon emoticon emoticon

VICKIE, emoticon on making your goal. Doesn't it feel great. I'm hoping for a weight loss soon too,

AMANDA, You are doing great. I do wish I could give up my night time eating. This is not the first time I have tried. I have this idea in my head that if I wake up at night I need to eat something in order to get back to sleep. Isn't that weird? I am so proud of you for not slipping into that emotional eating when you are not feeling your best. emoticon

PAT, I can agree with the swelling of the muscles, that makes sense and i can tell I'm retaining water. The thing about muscle weighs more than fat is not correct, A pound of fat is equal to a pound of muscle. A pound is a pound. Muscle has less volume than fat which is why once you build muscle your size goes down. I just learned that from the fitness coach when I joined the gym. Thanks for the suggestion on the challenge. I will definitely check it out.

Pam, being sore because of ST is a good 'soreness'. Whenever one starts a ST program is normal to weight more because of that soreness (it's inflammation, water retention there). After the soreness pass and you build up muscle, it also weighs more. Anyways, that's a good weight you're putting on. It's muscle replacing fat. I'm totally grateful for my DD. She's my best female friend.

Amanda, I agree with you when distance is in the way of our loved ones. Wishing you the best for the full recovery of your back and your ankle. As I see this, it is a constant challenge to be healthy, it's a life long not easy journey, but I like it when I share it with people. Tracking is amazing, it won't let you lie to yourself and you know what to expect. Let's fight back emoticon

Danae, what a nice time you had with your cousin and her fiancee. emoticon for your weight loss emoticon

Nancy, I'm glad you have such a nice weekend with your DH and his family. I'm taking today off and yes, it feels delightful.

Vickie, emoticon emoticon

Yesterday was an errands day shared with my DD & baby. I love Weds because of that. I end up exhausted but very happy and satisfied. For the first time in a month, I decided to take off a day from exercising emoticon

There's a nice SP challenge, The Balanced Life Challenge, where each day they send you something to ponder about, I've loved this one. Very true, very practical. (in case you want to take it). Check it out:

Hi All,

Hope everyone is having a great week!

I am getting better again, and my ankle is really feeling better. The stress of everything has put me down a stressful road but it's finally getting better! I made yesterday a day to let myself relax and do nothing, and it helped with the stress. I'm still not feeling amazing but I am feeling very good about my eating habits, my binge eating and exercise. There's a long way to go in this journey but I'm finally starting to accomplish something even if the scale continues to move in the wrong direction this week.

I've cut out almost 1000 calories from my diet since I began and realized I was eating/drinking about 3000 calories a day. I have cut my bad ice cappuccino habit down from large to smalls (dropping 650 calories right there). I have cut out pop/juice (except G2 or Ice tea Zero, I actually like the zero calorie or low calorie drinks), and cut back snacking at night.

I'm hopeful things are looking up for me, and as long as my ankle continues to heal and my back quits hurting, I should be moving more and more in the weeks to come.

PAM - I didn't cut back all my snacking at night all at once, I had to take small steps to get it under control cause I tend to snack when bored or watching tv. I focused on eating less and less. Look at what you've accomplished, even if you didn't get to exactly where you want to be, any step in the right direction is worth celebrating. emoticon If you can't cut it all at once, take small steps that work for you to get down to something you can live with. emoticon

Hope everyone has a great Thursday!

Hi team,
I think the reason I haven't lost weight is because I'm snacking to much at night. I tell myself that it's ok because I'm working out so hard. Well I can't expect to lose if I eat as much as I burn. I told myself that I wouldn't do that last night. I didn't eat as much but I still did. A little better but I have to break that habit. I'm not even hungry when I do it!!! I'm taking mom to her maintenance exercise class today so I know I'll be in the gym for over an hour. I am having fish and vegetables for dinner.

NANCY, Wow you did have a busy weekend, but I'm glad you got to enjoy your time with your DH. I now how much you love it when he is home. You do deserve some down time.

AMANDA, So sorry your ankle is giving you trouble again. I'm so proud of you for not taking your bad feelings about out in food. I know how hard that is. I am an emotional eater also. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Amanda - I'm sorry your ankle is still giving you trouble. I'm glad that you aren't pushing too hard so it can heal. I know how hard that is, I had foot surgery years ago and remember how hard it was not to be able to do what I wanted.

I came home mo day and last night and didn't really do anything. It felt good t sit snd relax for s change.

It's Tuesday and another day of summer has passed. I had a bad night with my ankle and it messed up my work out. I was unable to work out for more than 30 minutes yesterday. I'll take it but was really starting to do more. I don't want to push too hard but I do want my ankle to feel better and I don't want to go back to being stuck sitting on the couch. So I found a middle ground but I was so frustrated with my ankle and the fact that I wanted to work out more yet spent the time sitting on the couch instead. At least I was didn't snack away my frustration. I had one treat earlier in the evening and no other snacks afterward! I was so proud when I went to bed and hadn't binged eat when moody. It's a step in the right direction!

PAM - I'm sure it's just water weight and if not, you'll lose it again shortly with all the working out you are doing at the gym recently. You have been doing so well with the gym and working out, I am sure it'll go back down shortly. Keep at it! emoticon

NANCY - I know how hectic weekends can be and you had a very busy one. I hope you get some down time this week and relax a bit. Sounds like a good time with husband and family.

Have a great Tuesday everyone!

Sorry I was away so long. I got busy toward the end of the week and I don't get online when my husband is home on the weekends. We have such little time together. This weekend was crazy. New had to take his bike to town for some work on Saturday. After we dropped it off we went to lunch then ran some errands. On the way home his mom called to let us k ow his sister was in town. We decided to have them come for lunch on Sunday. We went bs k to town to,pick up the bike and I stopped st the store to get what I didn't already have to feed his family. After we got home we realized we forgot mouse traps so we had to head back again. We took the trike the last trip so it was a little more fun! Sunday was spent with his family and then back to work on Monday. He left again yesterday and won't be home til Friday.

Hi team,
OK all I need some encouragement. Today after doing bills all day long the last thing I wanted to do was go to the gym. I went anyway. I still don't feel it. Also today when I got on the scale I had gained 2 pounds!! I'm hoping it's only water weight since I've been so good lately. emoticon

AMANDA, So sorry your parents had to return home so soon. I live only 1 block away from my Mom and I don't know what I would do if I lived far away. My dad has passed and I miss him terribly. When you wake up in the middle of the night if its your low-middle back that is hurting try getting on your hands & knees and arch your back then reverse it down. Do it slowly and take deep breaths. It works for me. Good Luck, I hope it works.

DANAE, So glad your back. We all have those down times. Fun with friends and family definitely helps turn those times around. Congrats on the weight loss. Maybe the 1 pound is water weight. That's what I'm hoping for. emoticon

Happy Monday!

My parents left this morning to head back home. It'll be many months before I see them again at Christmas time so it's always a hard time saying good bye especially for my daughter. I've gotten used to seeing them 3-5 times a year with the 8 hour distance, but she hasn't and may be never will. She loves spending part of her summer with them but it always is hard to say good bye after seeing them for so long. I'm sure once we get back into our daily schedule, she'll still miss them but it does get less sad.

My back is still bothering me, and I will head to the doctor's later this week. It was worse on Saturday but Sunday night it only happened once. My ankle has it's good and bad moments and this morning it's killing me. But I have about 60% of my range back and can't put half or all my body weight on it for long but it is still improving. The pain is mostly from stretching it too far or walking too much. When it hurts I give it a break and it seems better. I'm definitely still not ready for a jog but I'm getting better with the exercising every day with longer times/distances.

PAM - I will try walking around when I experience the back pain again, it definitely can't hurt to try. It's not working to just roll over, it still happens again at some point in the night.. I'll let you know if it works.. thanks..

Hope everyone has a great Monday!

Hi team,
I am SO SORE. I guess Friday's weight training was more strenous than I thought. I was a bit sore yesterday but today I'm really feeling it. So I got up and decided to go for a walk to help my legs feel better. I got out in the sunshine and walked for over an hour at a brisk pace. I stretched before and after and I feel so much better.

PAT, So glad you got to spend some time with your DGD. I know I love it when I get the chance to spend time with my DGS. Aren't they just the greatest?

Pam, you're doing emoticon I'm not a gym person nowadays, used to be a long time ago, but I think I will definitely enjoy your gym. I like when there's few people around and some personalized attention to your own needs. emoticon on your weight loss emoticon

Amanda, awww, how nice to have your DD back and clingy to you. What a wonderful experience with her grandparents!
Hang in there with the weight, it's an everyday struggle in this life long journey for most of us. But we don't give up! We're brave (right?), we emoticon no matter what emoticon
I'm glad you are going to the doctor for the back pain. Let us know what he says. emoticon

Today I babysat my DGD (5 yo) from 9 to 5. I adore them, but boy do I get exhausted! Her parents had a wedding and took -of course- their nursing baby with them. He's a very well behaved baby. I'm impressed at how calmed he is. I hope he continues like that.

Hoping you are all having a motivational weekend!!

Hi team,
IT'S FRIDAY!!!! I went to a weight training class today. It's only $5 drop in on Fridays. He worked me really hard. Everyone is handled individually which is really great. Hopefully I'll be able to go every Friday. It will depend on my $$. I usually run out at the end of the month. After that I did cardio for 20 minutes. I have about 1/2 hour before mom and I go to dinner. I LOST 1 POUND. emoticon I guess all this working out is working.

AMANADA, So glad your daughter is back. Listening to all her adventures must be a wonderful thing. About your back, the cast and the pain of your ankle can change the gait of your walk which can cause pain in those other areas. When you wake up with back pain try getting up and walk around the house and stretch your back. Sometimes when that happens to me I have to stretch for 5-10 minutes before I can get back to sleep. Have a great time with your family.

Happy Friday!

My daughter came back yesterday and it's been great having her back chatting away and telling me all about her adventures with Grandma and Poppa. She had a great time but she has been really clingy to me since coming home. It was to be expected since 3 weeks away from home is a long time for a six year old. I even think she got taller while she was away!

I'm a little disappointed this week, I gained a pound but I had a feeling it was coming. I was told it likely could have to do with the cutting back on sugar that has me not losing, until my body gets used to the new sugar levels but I'm hopeful either way that I'll be able to take all the weight off as soon as I mend some more.

I am having a little trouble with my ankle, the pain is there sometimes when I go up or down hill but the exercises and stretching is improving the strength and flexibility. Though I've been having major back pain lately that wakes me in the middle of the night, and it started happening shortly after starting to wear the air cast. I have days where it's fine and maybe wake me up once and I'm fine. But last night it woke me three times that it hurts to roll over. There was talk that wearing the cast could cause hip, knee or back issues so next week I'll head to the doctor to see what they suggest. Maybe some extra stretching would help..

Hope everyone has a great weekend, I'm spending my weekend with my daughter and my parents who are visiting until Monday.

Hi team,
Today has been a good day, My chiro is finally getting my back in shape. I'm having very little pain. It seems to be located on only one side of my back. I've been doing a lot of stretching which helps too. Went to the gym today for over an hour. It feels so good. I think I could really get hooked on this. I've never liked gyms in the past because they seemed to be filled with skinny fit people and I was always embarrassed. This one is filled with old people most of which are in worse shape that me. Also at the time that I usually go there are only 1-2 people. there. I'm bound and determined to get rid of some of my lumps and bumps. I have never had a stomach before. Plenty of butt and thigh but never a stomach. All of a sudden I have a gut. Granted its not very big and I can hide it but I'm not used to it. I think it might have something to do with my surgery because they cut up the middle. Oh well my core is very weak and hopefully tomorrow I will find out exactly what to do to get in proper shape. Wish me luck.

PAT, Sorry about your problems with your feet. Maybe you can take walks once in awhile with special pads in your shoes. At least short walks. I don't go for walks often but when I do I really enjoy them.

Have a tremendous Thursday and Fabulous Friday!!!!

Nancy, has the weather been nice for walks? It's so refreshing when we can go out for some exercise.

Pam, emoticon emoticon Go for the gym!!! So sorry about your pain emoticon You deserve your being motivator!! According to the orthopedist I have chondromalacia patella and plantar fasciitis which was making walking very painful. He suggested to change to another exercise like swimming. I didn't want to stop my daily walks. He gave me some printed exercise I never did. Since my symptoms got worst, I went to a PT and so far, excellent!! Thank you.
Good luck with the bumps in your body emoticon I can never disappear them, even as skinny as I can get.

Amanda, I'm so happy you realized you've done a lot of positive changes in you life. A lot of non-scale-victories, definitely. It's not all about the scale, it's about healthy bits. Enjoy your DD again. It's such a nice relationship worth every moment.

Vickie, emoticon oh, no, so sorry about the back injury emoticon Sometimes, in the heat of the moment, we overdue things, OUCH! The body always passes its bill.

Petrie emoticon

Yesterday, was an errands day with my DD and her baby boy. We went for his 2 month old check-up. He's in excellent condition with only his mom's milk! I so admire breastfeeding. Came home directly to emoticon
My PT homework is doing wonders so far emoticon

Hi team,
My arms and shoulders are so sore. I used the strength training machines 2 days in a row. I know better than that. I know that my muscles need a day to rest and repair. I'm in such a hurry to get in shape. I'm going to take a training class on Friday and I'll get a personal regime to get my body in better shape. I bought some workout clothes. They are so cute but show every bump in my body. That has to change.

NANCY, Thank you. The chiro is making it better but it is a little at a time. He finally got the main spot. I go back tomorrow.

AMANDA, Glad to hear your not down any more. We all need to keep in mind the things we do right or better than we used to. I'm just trying to keep the exercise going. I'm so glad to hear your daughter is returning. I remember how happy I was when my daughters came home during the summer. Children are a delight.

VICKIE, Glad you had fun with your DH. He is right. The stretching is helpful even when it hurts. It keeps the muscles from getting stiff. The best time to stretch is right when your finished working out. It makes your muscles less sore later.

Have a great day.

Amanda - That's the right attitude! I know it's easy to beat yourself up for what you didn't do. But look at what you did do! Good for you!

Vickie - That sounds like a hard workout! I think you should listen to your body. Is it sore from the workout, just muscles, or did you strain something? Either way I hope you feel better soon.

Hi everyone! So glad it's hump day... let's get this day done!

My husband and I did some crossfit-style circuit training in our yard last night (flipping tires, lifting heavy chains, short sprints, etc.) It was a lot of fun and made me feel strong. But about half hour later, my back started hurting so bad. It woke me up in the night so I'm quite tired this morning. Might have to take a break from working out tonight unless it starts feeling better. My hubby says I just need to keep stretching... even though it hurts so bad!

Make it a great day!

Hi all,

I am feeling much better these days about the weight not moving, I just try to look at all the things I've done in the last month that I haven't done before. I blogged some of those things so I can look it over and remind myself that it isn't going down but I'll be much better and stronger when I'm back up and doing what I was doing before the injury. I may even be able to do some of my hard core workouts better than I did before. I want to get back into Jillian Michaels videos but still too much ankle issues. I started with Leslie Samsone walking videos instead which will start on Friday.

Otherwise I am stretching my weak ankle every day so that I can get more range of motion, and it is improving but some stretches hurt more than others.

My daughter comes back on Thursday evening, and I can't wait! It's been fun with her being away but I can't wait to spend some time with her. She and I don't usually get this kind of time apart and even though it's good for both of us, I want to do those things I enjoy with her. Reading books at bedtime, giving hugs and kisses (even though she hates them.. lol) and hearing all about her wonderful days full of adventure.

Hope everyone is doing good, and has a wonderful Wednesday!

Amanda

Hi team,

I have been in a lot of pain the last few days. As my chiropractor puts it "your back is jacked". Such a nice sentiment. Good news/. . .I went to the gym for the first time today. I joined last week. I was supposed to go yestereday but once I got into the house I was not going to go back out again. It was suggested that I keep my workout clothes in my car. I did that and went right to the gym while I was out. I was there for 70 minutes. I felt so good when I was done.

PAT, SP recognized me as motivator of the day. It was very surprising that out of all the people that are listed as motivators that they chose me. I felt very honored. I'm glad you had so much fun with your GS. It is very rejuvenating to take time out with our little ones. Did I miss something? What are you going to PT for?

AMANDA, Glad to hear you are taking good care of that ankle. Mall walking sounds fun. I can just imagine the looks. Don't get to down over the lack of downward movement. We all go through those plateaus from time to time. Try doing some strength training. Sometimes it helps to do something different that uses different muscles than you are used to.

DANAE, Glad to hear your eyes are doing better. Lazy days are important. You need them to re-charge. Sorry to hear that you have been ill. I hope you will be 100% soon. Happy to hear about your son, another milestone.

CARRIE, Glad your Dad is getting outside help.

VICKIE, Your doing emoticon . 1 pound away can be accounted for in any number of ways. I would be so excited for coming so close. You seem to be having severe ups and downs. I agree that maybe visiting your doc. would be a good idea.

NANCY, I agree with you. My weight is up a bit and I too refuse to buy a bigger pair of pants. I worked to hard to get down and I refuse to go back up. I'm doing some serious tracking these days in an effort to keep things in check. Your planned vaca sounds like fun. So glad you had such a good day today.

SUE, emoticon Not all challenges are for everybody but you will see the stair challenge again. I get good feedback about this one. Try to do the fitness challenge to encourage you to get in that 10-15 minutes. Just keep reaching and you will get where you want to be. Do you not track because you do not like to or is there a specific reason. Glad you are back and I hope to see more of you.

Vickie - You came real close to meeting your goal. Don't be too hard on yourself. I I destined not wanting the extra responsibility of a management job. Good luck making your decision.

Amanda - Try not time to be too hard on yourself. I'm sure once your ankle heals and you can exercise more you'll see the numbers drop.

Danae - I'm glad your feeling better.

Patricia - Thanks for the encouragement. I hope the exercises help you.

Today was a pretty good day. I got my workout done and went for a walk at lunch. It was nice today so I was able to walk outside.

Sue, nice to see you here. Glad your aches and pains are getting better. Congrats on staying within your cal limits emoticon

Nancy, emoticon and having those Harley jeans as a motivation is cool!!
Thank you, we had a nice family day. By the end of the day, as usual, I was totally exhausted, but with a nice feeling of accomplishment.

Vickie, you can't beat yourself up for 1 pound!!! I'd say you got your goal weight for this time. Wishing you well in your important decisions for the job. emoticon

Amanda, focus on the positive: your ankle is much better. Step by step, you'll get there.

Danae, happy you're feeling much better. What a wonderful milestone for your son and you!!! Lovely! Dinner sounds YUMMY.

Today I had my second appointment at the physical therapist. She gave me 4 exercises to do twice a day 3 sets of 10 each, plus to use twice a day, ice packs in 4 different parts, after walking (while having breakfast -she suggested) and at night (while watching TV). I sincerely hope it works. My hubby introduced me today to cycling, just a short distance. He says it will help my quadriceps develop to support my patellas. Oh, well.

Hi, Hope everyone had a great weekend, and enjoying their Monday

I have the Monday blues. I wish I didn't have to weight myself once a week, cause it bums me out when I don't see a change. I lost two pounds before my injury and gained it back shortly after my injury and now I have been weeks since the scale moved, and my concern is it's going to go up next. emoticon I keep telling myself it's due to the ankle injury and it will get better when it's fully healed, but it's hard to believe since I've cut out or back many other things since the injury.

My ankle is doing well, I was able to walk 30 minutes briskly on Saturday and Sunday, and exercised more during the day than I have previously. It's great to be working out and doing more again. I still have a few spots that hurt when I move my foot left to right but they are better than before.

Tonight I'm going to put on some headphones and go for a long walk in the neighborhood.. And enjoy some quiet time.

Well, I had set a sparkpeople goal to be at 175 by July 20. I'm 176 today. I'm bummed I didn't meet my goal, but I know that I'm getting stronger and leaner and healthier, so I'm not going to let it get me down. I'm going to reevaluate things and set a new goal and just keep on doing what I'm doing to get there!

I also found out today that I'm very likely still being considered for the job I interviewed for. Ugh. It was a lot less stressful when I thought I was out of the running for it! I am really not sure that I'm ready for that level of management, but then my husband is laid off right now and the higher salary would be nice... I'm back not knowing what to do! ARGH! emoticon

Have a great week everyone and keep on keeping on!!

Danae - I love lazy days! I like to have one day of the weekend for doing nothing.

Patricia - I hope you enjoyed your day with family.

Rachael - we'll miss you!

Sue - Welcome back!

My weight is up again this week. I'm going to follow a strict diet for awhile to see if I can jumpstart my progress. We have a trip planned for August 12 and I need to lose enlighten to fit co for table in my jeans. I refuse to buy s larger size. It's a Nsr,eh trip and I want t wear my Harley jeans. They are too expensive to just run out a buy a larger size.

Hey all! Miss me?? I missed you! I am thankful for that because it keeps me coming back. I looked at the current challenges though and well, maybe not. I should track food and see where I am at, though I generally do pretty well staying in my limits, but I'm not so good at tracking.

Love the idea of the stair challenge, but I'm still not climbing stairs so well yet. I am going to start walking again. Short walks to start to see what happens. Keeping my fingers crossed. Hope you will do the stair challenge again someday when I can join in!

I am going to make it a priority to spend more time in here to get my motivation back. I know my pains are starting to subside so I think it is time to get myself more involved in my life again!

Went to the farmers market saturday and picked up a few fresh veggies to use through the week. Getting some tomatoes out of my garden but still waiting for zucchini. Probably my own fault since I haven't taken such good care of it as I should have.. I think I can still salvage some good growing season though!

Yesterday was national Ice Cream day, and I did have a little homemade rhubarb ice cream. I find its a good thing when I feel like cooking and making stuff as that is a sure sign my mood is improving!

I am not joining the challenges but I am challenging myself to do a 10 - 15 minute walk each day.

Amanda, that's the attitude!!!
emoticon people are funny staring at you. Imo, time flies by when you got friends with you doing exercise. So happy your ankle is in full progress emoticon Sounds like you're gonna have a very relaxing weekend. I love ordinary weekends.

Danae, thinking of you yesterday, I cleaned up all of my house (it's a never-ending story, isn't it?) emoticon Chinese food at a buffet, will be a bingy day for me, though once in a while could be done emoticon I love it!
Enjoy your lazy day and your parents.

Vickie, sorry about your ups and downs. Sometimes they are manageable with help. In my case, I'm in antidepressives for good. I hope today is a brighter day for you and your family.

Nancy, thank you for your response. Those days of food happen. The good thing is you're back on track today emoticon

Today is an ordinary relaxed day for me, but not tomorrow, since is a family day here at my house. Both are a delight, but in different ways.
Keep yourselves having a nice and easy weekend. Think time for recovery!

Pam - emoticon ! I missed the announcement too. MIm glad you're back is feeling better.

Patricia - When I started the 5% Challenge I was in s team that didn't really have a team. The teams were all full so they created an overflow team for us. Several of the people who were on that team are still Firecrackers.

Amanda - It sounds like your ankle is doing well. I'm glad you're taking the time at night to rest it. Yes,master sitting all afternoon in class I'm definitely Italy ready for some quiet time. Especially when some of,the lass thinks they know me than the trainer.

Danae - I over eat at buffets too. Especially Chinese. Must get back on track today.

Vickie - I hope today is better for you.

We have to mow today and maybe do a little shopping. Other than that we don't have any plans. We had a food day at work yesterday and I ate like a pig. Back to tracking today.

Ugh. I'm feeling very gloomy today... not sure why. I think maybe I should see a doctor. My emotions seem to be a roller coaster lately. I'll have good "up" days and then a day where I just want to sleep and cry. That cannot be healthy.

I kinda snacked a little much last night, but was determined to get back on track today. I was doing good until the Assistant Director brought in dilly bars after lunch. I could have said no, but I didn't... I ate one. emoticon Now I really want to crawl in bed and sleep. And my father in law is at home with the kids today and my husband is there too. My fil is being an ass to dh and put him in a crappy mood so he snapped at me, so now I really feel like crying. Yeah, I'm over this day...

On the bright side, the weekend is almost here.

yesterday I did 20 minutes of work outs. Then cleaned a little. Went to china buffutt last night for dinner. Did bad. I kind made a pig out of myself at the restrant last night.

Today i am gonna do some more exersices, do my dishes, then go pay bills and do some grocery shopping for the week.

AMANDADAWN1982:I would take all the free time you can get. I wish i could do that.

RPCLEM2000: I hope your back feels better. Pink eye sucks. My eyes are feeling better. They are back to normal now. I am on my last couple of days on my antibiotics for it.

Nancy - I wouldn't like being in a classroom with that many people anymore, so I see why you walk at lunch. It's a great way/choice to spend your time walking with only yourself to worry about. Glad to hear you are back on track and having a good week! Keep it up!

Pam - I hope your back feels better, and that gym membership is a great idea! Thanks for the concern about my ankle, I'm not pushing too hard and if I do have issues I stop totally and give myself time to rest it. I worry about injurying it again too, so I focus on how it feels and stop when it starts to feel too bad.

Patricia - I'm pretty easy going about most things, which could be my downfall when it comes to losing weight. But I do tend to not worry if i miss something, don't get the challenge or miss an entire day. I try to stay by the rules but i do find i care more when I affect other people. So challenges with a team strive for me to be better than I am alone. Though I've had bad days in the 5% challenge and came back to do better the next day. The accountability and encouragement help me to stay relaxed about healthy habits but not too relaxed that I don't care what happens (I'm sure that's part of what got me to this point with my weight). Glad to hear you had a pretty quiet day yesterday spending time with babies always brightens my day.

Thank Goodness it's Friday!!!!

I went for a walk in the mall yesterday and walked around slowly for 90 minutes. I did my stairs at the same time and loved watching people's faces looking at us weird on our third time going by them. I am still using friends to join me for my long walks in case something does happen. My shorter walks I do on my own since I'm not far from home. But the ankle is doing well. I still have to spend at least an hour a night with no weight bearing on it, and only a bit of swelling but I'll know more on Monday after I see my doctor. He's just checking the progress since I hit a month since my injury today!

This weekend is going to be a quiet relaxing weekend, my last one before my daughter returns. I'm having friends over but the rest of the time I'm cleaning or organizing my house. I'm looking forward to relaxing with a book and a drink and taking in some sun during the lazy Sunday.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Danae, wow, that was a great busy day emoticon I hope your eyes are almost or totally back to normal.

Nancy, thanks! That's a question I'm gonna post on the Q&A thread emoticon Yes, you get pretty attached to your teammates. Are there other members that started with you?
Cheers for being on track emoticon

Tracey, you're at my team in the 5% emoticon emoticon Gosh, it was until now that your member name hit me! (I think) I'm so happy to hear about the rain and about how well you're handling that extra load you have with your studies. The vacation time seems super appropriate to help you relax emoticon on your weight loss emoticon emoticon and keeping up with the exercise in spite of being super busy.

Amanda, oh yes, give the BLC a try! It's the best way to know if you enjoy something or not. I did not hate it but it was too much to do. I never thought I would say this about a challenge, because I love them, but my problem is I try to do everything by the book, and that's where I got exhausted (OCD working out). I would join it again in a future, but probably not for a while. The team members were fabulous. They are what I miss the most from the challenge. I was in the Powerful Prism Panthers. Hats off to the organizers of that challenge.
So happy you're doing so well in the way of recovery. Now you'll have to tone up the other leg! emoticon

Pam, glad the chiropractor did a good job on your back pain. emoticon for joining a gym emoticon I'm sorry to ask, but what was that about being motivator of the day??? I think I might have missed something important for you? emoticon

Well I had a very pleasant and on the quiet side day, with plenty of time to hug and squeeze my chubby 8 week grandson. I think it was great mental/emotional therapy.

Wishing everyone a happy and calmed evening.

Hi team,
Sorry I have been absent the last couple of days. My back was out and I was in so much pain. I have gone to the chiropractor for the last 2 days and I feel so much better. I am resting now and I'm going to stretch later and then go for a walk. Thanks to everyone for the congratulation on my being recognized for motivator of the day. It was so great. I would have never guessed that this would happen to me. i am very humbled. I joined a gym yesterday. The community center has a small gym and the dues are only $100. I am going to pay $25 a quarter. They don't do it very often but I couldn't afford $100 all at one time so they made an exception for me. They have really good equipment. I'm really excited about it.

DANAE, WOW you got so much done. You seem to do great every day and you are so active. I am impressed. So sorry to hear about your other eye. I only had pink eye once and I feel bad for you.

AMANDA, I remember when my daughters would leave for the summer. I missed them terribly for awhile, then I loved the freedom and just about the time I was used to that they would return. I can be a hard cycle to go through. It's nice that your ankle is getting stronger but please be careful not to over do. I know you are anxious to get back to normal but going to fast can hinder your healing.

KARINA, You are so welcome. I know how hard it can be to get into a rhythm but it is so worth it. Bite the bullet and do something positive for yourself and your journey today.

CARRIE, So glad you father is home from the hospital. I'm also your family is stepping up and helping you take care of him. Does your county help at all? You might want to check into aid for awhile.

VICKIE, So glad you are feeling better this week. I'm really rooting for you to make your goal.

PAT, So glad your DH is feeling better. It's great that no one else caught the virus. There are good that come from OCD sometimes. emoticon I hope the physical therapy helps.

NANCY, I'm so glad your back on track. It makes such a difference to or self esteem. Congratulations.

TRACEY, Good going girlfriend. Maintaining your biking and loosing a dress size is awesome! I'm so glad you are planning on throwing away you "fat" clothes. That is what I did and although I have gained it is forcing me to lose again quickly so my clothes fit more comfortably.

Tracey - emoticon On being down almost two sizes! I'm glad you're getting the rain. We've had the opposite problem. We've had so much rain the rivers are all flooding. I hope you enjoy your camping trip and get to relax.

Amanda - Walking in breaks is helping me keep my sanity! I'm not used to being in a classroom setting with 50 people! It can be overwhelming.

This week had been pretty good for me. I've made good progress in getting my house cleaned and aside from yesterday I've made some pretty good choices. It feels good to be back on track.

Carrie - glad to hear your father is on the mend and home. emoticon

Nancy - My job requires me to be at the computer pretty much all day, which i love but i do have to keep moving often or my legs get stiff. A walk at lunch may help keep me from the restless afternoons I get sometimes especially when I work hard and forget to move around. I'll give a walking lunch a try once my ankle is better.

Patricia - I signed up for the BLC this fall to see how it'll be for me. I'll either like it or hate at least that's what the other members i know have said. I know it's not for everyone and it can be a lot of work so i'm not sure but can't hurt to try at least once.

Tracey - Great work with maintaining your weight loss while being so busy. It must be super exciting to be looking at getting rid of your bigger clothes, I hope that day comes for me too. Enjoy the confidence and help it to motivate you further! Enjoy your camping this weekend, that sounds like fun!

I successfully made it through one day without any ankle support and did fine. The ankle has mended well and i still did an hour of walking after work! So far things are getting better faster than I expected. I still have some pain in my heel and ankle but not bad enough to keep me down. Keeps me going slow but I will continue to push little bits at a time. I walked 3.26km yesterday in my walk which is double my walks last week. I'm super happy and can't wait for moving to harder workouts and faster walks again.

Tonight I'm planning on another long walk, around my neighborhood to get out and enjoy the sunshine. I'm hoping to make it a faster walk but I don't want to limp home. My only other concern is how to get both legs to look about the same again.. Right now my ankle that was fractured left my leg bigger looking than my other leg so it looks swollen or weird. I'm hoping it'll even itself out in the next few weeks as i build it up again, but others say my hurt leg looks more toned than my other. it definitely looks weird to me even if others don't notice it.. lol

Have a great Thursday!
Amanda

Good early morning everyone. It is almost 4 am here and I am at work. I am finding this is the only time lately I have had time to post. This is my 6 night shift in 7 days and it has been crazy busy. I have been very good at continuing to bike to and from work each day. Even today, I was doubtful as we got a lot of rain in the afternoon, but it slowed down nicely just in time for work :)

I can't complain about the rain as we need it so desperately here with the forest fires. We have been in extreme dry weather conditions. I had a patient's family member fly in the other night and say that it looked like a bunch of wheat fields as they flew in (instead of green lawns).

I am looking forward to finishing my semester in about 3 more weeks. That will give me a very much needed break before I start again in September. I am really feeling mentally tired. We are going camping this weekend for 6 days so hopefully that will help. I have not let it stop me from continuing with exercising and eating properly. It is paying off as I have dropped a full size in clothing and am getting closer to dropping a second size. I was actually able to wear two different uniforms to work this week that I have not worn for 7 years! I can't wait to be able to get rid of clothes because they are too big. Definitely not saving those!

I hope everyone has a great week.

Danae, thank you very much for your explanation. I didn't know at all and searched it on google to find out lots of Marina Resorts emoticon Great going with your cleaning and your exercise!!!

Nancy, so good to know about the 5% challenge. When did it started, was it long ago? Interesting! Have you always been a Starfish? Glad your week is going so well.

Amanda, I didn't care either about the team. Actually, I think it will be fun and interesting to join each one of them, different challenge, different team. Being this the 5th time with the same team, you kind of get attached to the good ol' teammates, the ones that keep coming back.
Like you, I love challenges. I got into the BLC (biggest loser challenge) but totally wore me down emoticon Now, that was really too much for me, though I think it's excellent.
I hope you are able to go all day long without any support on your ankle and feel well.
I can relate with you and your DD. Glad she's going to be back.

Carrie, thanks! I really hope it works.
Is there anyone accompanying your dad at his home? Best wishes.

A big emoticon to everyone else. Enjoy the rest of the day.

Amanda - My job involves sitting all day. I need to get up and move on my breaks. I'm in training so from 1:00 - 4:00 I'm sitting until we get our breaks. In the mornings no I can get up whenever, but the afternoons are hard!

Carrie - I hope all goes well with your dad.

Training today was brutal. We have several people in class who like to challenge the trainer and try to catch her making mistakes. they are very rude and disrespectful. After all, she is trying to teach us how to do our jobs! Grrrrr.

Vickie - Glad to hear this week is better, and great job on the exercise! You'll get your goal with all the hard work you are putting in. Keep it up!

Patricia - I didn't care which team I was put on for the 5% Challenge since it was my first one and the Starfish is great! I actually really enjoying the challenges even if the weight hasn't move yet.. I'm glad to get this chance to try it out, and maybe do even better in the next few weeks as my ankle gets better. Glad to hear your husband is doing better and that no one else is sick.

Nancy - Great job at the exercise and working it in at work.. I should really look at doing that instead of sitting at my desk during my lunch break.

Last night I went walking downtown Ottawa for an hour and by time it was over, my ankle hurt and ached a lot. Mostly downhill and I think that didn't help, my range of motion isn't good enough for sloping terrain yet. I had a good time and did the walking/stairs with no air cast and no tensor. I am walking so much better and I'm trying to break the pattern of limping/putting no pressure on my other foot.

Today I am trying to go all day without needing something for my ankle, trying to see how long I can go with no support.

My daughter is back in one week from today and I can't wait! It's been super fun with her away but it's also weird and a little lonely sometimes.. We do a lot together just the two of us but I'm still taking advantage of this last week of no responsibilities..

Hope everyone has a great Wednesday!

Pam - I'm glad that you're giving yourself a much needed break.

Danae - I've been using the laundry soap and softener so that are made for sensitive skin. They don't have any dye or fragrance in them.

Amanda - I'm g,ad your ankle is doing better and that you're paying attention to how it feels. You don't want to push it too hard. I like the 5% challenge. I've been a member of the team since it started. I'm usually a Firecracker. I love the challenges, it makes me feel accountable.

Carrie - Thanks for the encouragement.

Vickie - I'm you're having a better week. Wow! An hour on the elliptical is great!

Patricia - I've been with the 5% challenge since it started. I am finding this week's challenge difficult. I'm a slow eater, but it doesn't take 20 minutes to eat unless I'm doing something else while I eat and get distracted.

This week is going good for me. I've worked out for the past two days and walked at least 20 minutes in my breaks at work. I'm working on getting my house cleaned at night and am making good progress.

Thank you very much to all of you for the get well wishes for my hubby. Actually, till today is that I see quite an improvement in him.
I think my OCD over the cleanliness versus the virus is giving good results. So far nobody has been infected. Well, that or simply my hubby's immune system was in a low and ours not. Whatever it is, it worked emoticon

Nancy, you're in the 5% challenge emoticon I'm in the Awesome A's. This is my 5th one. I love them. How many times have you attended the challenge? How nice to know! This weeks LTGL (living the good life) is terribly difficult, isn't it?!

Pam, a good rest makes wonders! Happy you're feeling so well. As SP says, remember this moment of relaxation for times when there's stress, then you can go there.

Danae, what's Marina? Those are great Gyn news to celebrate about emoticon Sorry about the pink eye thingy. It is very uncomfortable. In my hubby it has lasted for two weeks! Seems like improving today. I hope it lasts shorter for you.

Amanda, do what you need to do to keep your ankle in the healing process. No hurry.
You're also in the 5% challenge! emoticon and in the same team as Nancy. Can I do my dance here, emoticon emoticon emoticon When I first joined, I didn't ask for any particular team, the leaders just placed me there.

emoticon Karina

Carrie, emoticon Great attitude!

Vickie, you're there! Your goal is in your hands!! I'm very happy to know you're feeling emoticon YAY!! For me exercise is proportional to hunger feelings. You're doing lots of exercise! emoticon

For the first time in my life, I went to a physical therapist to see if my knee patella pain and my plantar fasciitis can be improved or totally cured without stopping my walks. We'll see if it works. She says it can be done since my problems are not chronic yet. I hope so.

Hi challengers!

This week is going so much better for me. I'm feeling much less stressed than I was last week. I am super hungry today, though, which I'm struggling with. There are cookies and donuts in our break room from a training earlier. They look so good, but I'm avoiding them like the plague! emoticon
I did an entire hour on the elliptical last night!! It felt awesome! Way too hot to go for a jog, so I turned some good TV on and hopped on! Tonight I am planning some strength and yoga. I have 2 pounds to go to meet my goal for July 20. If I make that, it'll be the first time in a long time that I've actually set a goal and achieved it in the set time frame. So, I'm trying my best...
I hope everyone is having a great Tuesday! emoticon

Hi

I was unable to walk much last night since my ankle was pretty swollen but I did get 30 minutes of exercise in. I'm still trying to keep up with exercises but I may have to go back to chair exercises for a few days while my ankle gets used to being used all day.. We'll see how today goes, because I'm suppose to head downtown tonight after work to walk the many stairs we find in downtown Ottawa. The goal is to get my 30 minutes of exercise while walking and stair climbing tonight... I hope my ankle can handle it but if not I'm thinking I might put the cast on so I can still participate with the group especially when I got 6 friends doing it with me tonight..

Patricia - Sorry to hear that your husband has a virus, and having to keep your family away. Hope everyone stays healthy and your husband recovers quickly..

Carrie - Hope your father gets well soon!

Nancy - I'm also a starfish on the 5% challenge, hope the challenge is going well for you. This is my first time in the challenge.

Pam - I hope you enjoyed your quiet, relaxing day yesterday. Hope the stress stays low for you.

Danae - Glad your GYN appointment went well! Sorry to hear of the pink eye, that's never fun dealing with pink eye. Hope it gets better soon!

I hope everyone has a great Tuesday!

Hi team,

Today has been a lazy day. I'm giving my body a break. I had so much fun and rest at my DD. I came home and I feel so refreshed. My stress level is very low right now. I had to run errands today. Right now I'm just sitting and watching TV.

AMANDA, Your progress sounds great. You will be running in no time. Walking and doing stairs in the mall was a great idea.

CARRIE, i'm so sorry to hear about your Dad. I know it can be a trial going to and from the hospital each day. I worry about something like that happening to my mom. Stay strong but don't forget that you need to take care of yourself too. I'm glad you got your exercise in yesterday and I'm glad you are trying to watch your eating. Take care.

NANCY, So glad your getting back on track today. We all go through those down times.

PAT, I know exactly what you are talking about. It's so hard to keep these virus' confined.

Nancy, glad you had a great weekend with your DH and got the chance to mow.

Danae, emoticon sorry you got a cold and pink eye. Actually, I think pink eye is like having a cold that focuses on the eyes. My hubby is suffering the same thing, a cold with pink eyes (in both!). I'm trying not to catch it by being extremely clean, but it's almost impossible with him. Best wishes at the Gyn!

Pam, so happy you have a Shangri-la at your DD's home. Thanks for the answer about the step. I'll go an update my step doing.

Amanda, emoticon for your healthy eating and stairs accomplishment! emoticon
You're making quite a progress from your ankle injury emoticon You'll see that in no time you'll be running again. Step by step is the way to go.

Carrie, I hope your father emoticon emoticon

Nancy, every time I slow down on my exercise, my weight goes up emoticon It's probably a perfect mathematical equation. I know I have to lower my cal intake if I lower my exercise, but haven't been able to do so. The 2.2 pounds I'm up was for the 'vacation weeks' we had from the 5% challenge. Glad you're back in the wagon!

I told my DD not to come these days because of the strong virus my hubby is having. I don't want her and her two little ones to catch it. I'm already terribly missing them! I'm wiping everything he touches in an attempt to keep the virus away from my mom too.

Danae - I hope you feel better soon.

Pam - I wish I could send some rain your way. It's been so rainy here. I'm glad you had a good time with your daughter. We all need those mini vacations.

Amanda - It sounds like your ankle is doing a lot better! Good news!

Carrie - I'm sorry to hear about your dad. I hope he heals quickly.

I had a slight gain this week. That's what I get for taking a week off off exercise and eating right. Today I am getting back on track. I worked out before work and took a walk on break. I'm going to walk after I eat lunch too. All my food has been measured and tracked so far too.

It's been a long time since I've checked in. My Dad fell and fractured his hip a couple of weeks ago and has been in the hospital ever since . I have visited him in the hospital almost everyday. Being that I spend all day everyday in the hospital I've been skipping my exercise but my eating has been ok. Last Night I finally buckled down and exercised for an hour and let me tell you it felt great!

Hi,

I hope everyone's weekend went well... I had an extremely busy weekend but still made time to keep my healthy eating in check as much as possible. Sometimes it's hard to get a good choice in with all the temptations around you but I know it'll get easier. It was so hot this weekend, I found it hard to exercise unless it was late evening so instead of walking stairs outside on Sunday, I walked to stairs in the mall. Got a good 30 minute walk and over 200 stairs while I was there and didn't feel hot and muggy while doing it. emoticon

I was able on Friday to walk for 1.5 Km without my cast and spent most of the weekend with it off. I did my whole 34 minute walk/stairs on Sunday without my cast. So today I am trying to go through my whole day with it off. I'm hopeful I can finally start walking longer and getting back to some of the fitness I was doing before this happened. I still have a ways to go before being able to run but it's progressing great for me..

Tonight I'm hoping to do another 30 minute walk if my ankle can handle the all day moving and the evening moving. But if not I will try something else..

Hope everyone has a great Monday!

Amanda

Hi team,
Well I'm home and I already miss my DD and her family. I really like it there because it is so relaxing for me. I can leave all my problems behind me. Now it is time to deal with them once again. It was a nice mini-vacation.

PAT. Of course you can use a stepper. The idea is to have a good time being healthy.

NANCY, Oh my goodness please send your rain to us here in CA. We are in the middle of a drought and could really use it here.

DANAE. So sorry to hear bout your eye. Enjoy your time with your family.

I'm enjoying my weekend with hubby. Yesterday we did a little shopping and spent the rest of the day relaxing. Today we might go for a ride after we now. The sun is out at least for a while so we have to mow while we have the chance. We heard yesterday that July and August are only supposed to have 5 days without rain.

Pam, awww, you DH is so nice giving you something he knows makes you feel good emoticon

Vickie, gosh, I'm sorry for what you're going through emoticon emoticon emoticon Exercise is, imo, a form of venting out too. I'm glad you could get quite a workout done. Take good care of yourself.

Danae, great busy day, exercise included!

Amanda, emoticon on your walk! Your weekend sounds emoticon

Thank you all for the good wishes. Lots of emoticon here, but at least it hasn't rained when we go for the walk early in the morning.
I don't have any stairs nearby, believe it or not. It's a mountain so you either go up or down, but no stairs. SO, is it possible to use a step for the challenge emoticon

Hoping a nice weekend is starting right now for all of you.

Hi

I was able to make it 1km yesterday on my walk.. double my walk on Wednesday night!!! My ankle hurt a bit afterwards but I had no swelling which is great! I'm hoping to get to walk that much further tonight, and push myself some more. I'm looking forward to the challenge with the Stairs on Sunday cause I can do that with or without my cast on. Which will help to strengthen my ankle even more..

I have a very busy weekend with going out to dinner and movie with friends tonight, to a party at my house on Saturday and a quiet yet busy Sunday.. Heading down to Parliament hill here in Ottawa and hoping to walk some stairs if it's nice. :)

Patricia - quiet days are always nice after the crazy days! Hope you enjoyed it..

Pam - Glad to hear you had a good day!

Vickie - Sorry to hear that you had a rough night and things are stressful. I'm sure they will settle down in time. Just take some time out for you and relax. Do something you enjoy and try to put your worries aside.. I know it's not easy but time away from the stress always allows us to see problems in a new light and maybe find a solution.

Hope everyone has a great Friday and an amazing weekend!

Well, I had a very rough night. I just fee like my life is a wreck right now. In addition to the stress of maybe or maybe not getting the new job, my boss (who is retiring end of July) has been dumping almost everything on me. I think it's his way of exposing me in the hopes I get his job. But, it really makes me not want the job! And, in the last few weeks I've twice had a heart to heart with my DH about his drinking. After the first one, he went 2 weeks without drinking then last Thursday got very drunk (almost finished off a 15 pack in 1 night). So, I had another talk Friday with him. I really felt like he understood that he risks losing me if he doesn't quit. Then last night he actually texted me when I was coming home from work and asked me to pick up a few beers for him. SERIOUSLY?! I ignored the text then he ended up calling about something else and asked me again. My only response was "Why?" He was pretty upset with me, but I can no longer support his addiction. He needs help and I don't know why he can't see that.
So, I woke up at 2:30 and laid awake crying for probably 2 hours. I'm exhausted today.
Sorry to vent, but really needed to get that all out.
On the bright side, I did get 40 strong minutes on the elliptical last night while watching Shark Planet. emoticon

Have a great Friday everyone!

-Vickie

hi teIam,
I'm going out with mom to dinner tonight because I'm going to see my DD this weeend. Im so excited, You need to forgive all tghe typos today. My DH sent my to get my nails done yesterday and I'm not used to them yet. I feel so feminin and they make me to happy. When I worked I used to get them donw every 2 weeks. I really missed it so he did it for me. I workedout for 126 minutes todyt so I'm really happy about that. All in all today is a great day.

LB, You go ahead and crash. You deserve it after all that. i hope you reccorded all that work on your firness tracker.

NANCY, Relax you deserve it.

VICKIE, That's a hard one. Best to put it in the Lord's hands and forget about it. If you get it then party if not then forget it.

AMANDA, You are going so much better. 2 blocks is better that 1 and 1 is better than none. You will be running around like its nothing in no time.

PAT, Glad you had a good day today. Have a fantastic Weekend.
Got to cut it short. Time to go. . .

Good morning!

Finally having a quiet day emoticon It has been on the crazy side. The good thing is that I'm doing much better in keeping a positive attitude all day long, night included, in spite of feeling tired emoticon

Pam, glad you had a better day and that you spend quality time with your mom and aunt. Great going with the exercise! emoticon

Danae, a good rest is what you need after such a busy day!

Nancy, that's a very productive week off from cleaning. Excellent plans!

Vickie, you should feel very proud of yourself at going to the interview and doing it. Bravo!!

Amanda, step by step is the way to go. I'm happy you're doing it right. Be careful and enjoy!

I hope and wish you all a happy day. Friday is almost here!!!

Hope everyone is doing well on this Thursday!

I walked without my cast on for 9 minutes yesterday and though it wasn't fast, I was quite happy to make it down the street and back. My ankle did well even though the swelling was bad yesterday but my doctor wants me out of this cast thing within another week. I am skeptical that I will be totally out of it but I'm making progress and that's what matters to me. I am a little concerned of hurting it again or twisting the wrong way but I'm sure that will go away with time. I keep a tensor on it while I'm walking so that I can feel a little better about it, but only time will heal my concerns as much as the fracture..

Tonight I am going to try and walk two blocks and push myself a little bit but not too much that I can't walk back home.. I don't wanna have to carry my air cast with me either.. wouldn't that look funny.. lol

Keep trying and keep smiling!
Amanda

Happy Thursday!

Well, I don't feel like the interview went that well, but I'm my worst critic, so I'm not sure. Honestly, I think the questions they asked, and my answers, really reflected my lack of experience. Which, I really don't have a whole lot of management experience. So, it might come down to whether they want someone with internal hands-on experience, or someone with management experience. I'll leave it in their hands to decide. I really am okay either way - not entirely sure I even want the job, but thought I should at least try.

I hope everybody has a great day and remember you are all beautiful!! emoticon

Patricia - Thnaks. i'm sure today will be better.

Pam - It would be more tolerable is we were still in school. It's frustrating because we're all supposed to be adults. I'm glad you had a better day. It sounds like you had a good time. And, you got to spend an extra day with your mom!

Danae - It sounds like you had a good day.

I decided to take a week off from cleaning my house. With my husband gone it doesn't get they dirty. I'm using the extra time to relax and plan meals for the next few weeks. I'll straighten a little and vacuum ion Thursday night. No one will j is I did t do a thorough cleaning.

Well today was better. Mom, my aunt and I went shopping and then went to dinner. I got home and did 45 minutes of cardio dance. The only thing was I was not able to get the cooking done but that is ok.

.NANCY, I've had those kinds of teachers when I was in hs. Long time ago. I was one of those smart ass kids that picked on the teacher when I was bored. One teacher transferred me to the upper class just to get me out of his class. I hate people like the know it all. I agree with you. Why isn't she teaching the class? Patience is a virtue. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

PAT, That is a long time. emoticon
