Pam, what a trial! Hang in there, and hope you're better soon!

Today will be challenging, foodwise. Potluck at work, dinner at Fuddruckers with mom tonight. I know my co-worker is bringing watermelon to the potluck, so I've planned to eat some of that (healthy and filling) and then choose a little of whatever other healthy stuff is there. For dinner, I looked up the nutrition menu for Fuddruckers and tracked a reasonable meal.

Hi Team,

Well its been a couple of days since I logged on. I've been very down and depressed. They are changing my meds and it will be a couple of weeks before I am up to full strength. Meanwhile I feel like I'm going nuts. I stayed in bed all day yesterday. I never watched TV, never logged onto my laptop and ate very little. Today was a bit better. At least I got out of bed today.

JUDY, Once around the park is enough for now. You do not want to overdue yourself and end up worse. Just take it easy and you will get your strength soon enough. I'm glad you had a nice Memorial Day Dinner. I love Mexican food. Congrats on the 7000+ steps. Going back and forth is one way to go about it. I'm so sorry your stomach is hurting. I hope when you see your surgeon they will have an idea what it could be.

CARRIE, It looks very promising that you are going to meet your goals. You go girl!!!!

RACHEL, It sounds like a great goal to find time for you. Its really important. I know that is one of my weak spots. I sometimes let myself get to the exhaustion point before I stop and that is not the way to go. I'm trying to learn not to do that. Keep us informed as to your progress.

TAWANDA, Glad your grandchild is out of the hospital and is good as new. It is scary when we can't put a finger on where a fever is coming from. I'm glad your having a good food day. I gained 5 pounds while at my daughters. I have lost 4 of it but unfortunately I'd already gained. I now have 14 pounds to lose in order to get back down to my optimal weight. I'm trying to watch what goes into my mouth.

LKB, I don't have an exact answer for you but if I were walking an incline I would either double the calories or use the incline stepper as my guide. I am assuming you are trying to enter it into the exercise tracker. In that case I would use the same amount of minutes for the incline stepper. I think that should put you into the ballpark. I hope I've helped.

MIMI, Nice to hear from you again. I look forward to your update. I wait with bated breath. emoticon

Way to go on those steps, Judy!

I'm doing pretty well this week, but the past couple of days, I feel tired and stressed for no apparent reason. Maybe it's just the weather. Anyway, taking extra care to be good to myself, starting with a healthy breakfast and some time to relax this morning.

TAWANDA - I pray your grand baby is feeling much better today.

WOW!! emoticon - DRUM ROLL!!!!!!!! Yesterday I got in 7408 steps!!!!! Best ever since my abdominal surgery on the 5th of May!!!! It seems so very nice!! I've done my two 1-mile trips around the park for the last few days AND when I take the clothes out of the dryer, I fold one item and then take that item to the proper room and put it away. Then, I come back to the dryer and do the same thing with each item!! All steps add up!!

I'm having abdominal pains but walking should NOT be hurting my abdomen since surgery. When I do exercise, I'm doing the upper body exercise - mainly arms, shoulders and wrists. So, none of that should make my abdomen painful. I see the surgeon again on the 3rd of June so maybe she'll know a little more for me.

Have a great day everyone!!

I have made an observation. Our little town is uphill both east and west, I had decided to walk to my grandsons little league games which is 2 miles at a constant incline. I can Walk Away The Pounds 5 Miles in an hour and that is about how long it takes me to walk to the field! I am hoping to get that time down, but it's a difficult walk, and the walking fitness tracker doesn't have just walking at an incline, has to be a treadmill, cause I am sure I am burning more calories than what they are saying! How would a person track that?? ;0)

Pam, glad you're safely home, and sorry you had to leave the fam.

Judy, good for you for not pushing it too hard on that leg. And that sounds like such a great meal at the restaurant!

Carrie, I'm so impressed with your progress on your goals!

My grandbaby went into the hospital yesterday with a high fever and seizures. He's fine now, but they don't know what caused the fever. Scary! My kid said the baby was running around the house playing with the dog, as if nothing had happened. Aren't kids amazing?

Great day food-wise. I'm really on a roll with that.

Love you too Judy!! Glad your walking

Today I am starting over again on trying to find at least a hour a day for me to get in my exercise in. I have a habit of feeling guilty for taking me time. I am going to have to make time for me somehow some way.
Today I did really good but I have to go to town the next two days which is going to be hard to get my time in. I am going to do my best though, even if I have to break it up.
Have a great day!

Pam, I'm glad to hear that you had a great time with your family.

Judy, I'm glad to hear that your walking is going good! I hope your knee is feeling better.

As for me, I have been doing really good on my goals this month. I have 5 more waters to drink. I have 396 more steps to take. I have 60 more minutes of stretches to do and I have 131 more exercise minutes to do! I have six days to reach these goals which I think is very doable!!!

TAWANDA - - Glad you had a relaxing time. We all need to take a day of rest and relaxation from our exercising. Chances are you even had gotten some exercise in there without you even realizing it.

CARRIE - So glad you're feeling better. Those sinus infections can really be a bear on our bodies in all respects.

PAM - You needed that alone time with your daughter. It was so nice of you to "babysit and/or play" with your grandchildren so your daughter and S-I-L to have some time alone for their anniversary. I remember how hard it was to have some time away from our boys, of course I pretty much had to raise them by myself which meant even more to have time to myself. What a great mom, M-I-L, and grandma you are.

Walked around our park 3 times now in the last 3 days. I didn't add the evening walk like I had planned but I didn't sleep very well last night and the muscles above my right knee were really aching so I decided it was better if I stay home and rest. I'll try for two walks (morning and evening walk) tomorrow.

My DH took me out to eat for Memorial Day at our favorite restaurant. He had breaded veal with mashed potatoes, peas and carrots, soup, desert and coffee. I didn't want the breaded meat so I ordered Migas with egg beaters, green peppers, onions, homemade salsa and 2 homemade flour tortillas (I had ordered corn tortillas - they made a mistake on the tortillas). The desert wasn't suppose to come with my meal but they gave me a very small piece of banana cake after my meal also. It's always great homemade mexican food at that restaurant.

Pray everyone had a great day today.

Hi Team,

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Memorial Day. The sun is shinning and I had a safe trip home. It was very sad leaving. I actually had some time to spend with my daughter all by ourselves. Her husband loves it when I come because the house gets very clean. I also play with the kids which means Mom and Dad get some quiet time. It was there anniversary so they actually got to go to a movie without tag-a-longs. I would have loved to stay a few more days because it was supposed to get up in the 90's and they have a pool.

JUDY, Congratulations on the walk around the part. I'm sure it was quite an accomplishment. Now you'll be able to do it every day. Your SUV sounds heavenly. I would love to own something new and exciting. Why don't you drive to Calif? That would break it in really good and then you could take me for a ride. Sounds good to me.

CARRIE, I'm so glad you are feeling better. I've had a sinus infection before and its no fun at all. I'm so happy that you are feeling strong enough to get back on your journey.

TAWANDA, So glad your having an enjoyable long weekend. Go kiss a vet!!!!

Hi Everyone,
I am feeling a lot better since last week. The antibiotics really seem to be helping my sinus infection. Today is the first day that I have been back on track. My nutrition goals are on target today. I have been watching my portion sizes and I will be getting in some exercise later today. I hope all of you are enjoying your day.

Well, I finally did it!! I walked my first walk around our park with my DH and "girls" - 3560 steps so far!!! It seems so good. I sure was glad when we got back to our home and had a chance to go around the park on our golf cart as a family again!!

PAM - It sounds like you had a good time with your daughter and family. As far as your questions about my new car, I'm enjoying it - - 60 miles on it so far!! We are suppose to get 33 mpg on highway and 28 miles in town. Once it gets broken in a little, we should get better than 33 mpg on highway. The color is called Urban Titanium. The Touring is the top of the CR-V. This thing even tells you when you're going over the line and if you don't correct it, it will actually slow you down and if you still don't correct it, it will slow you down quite a bit more. You go about a block without your seat belt on, it says "Please fasten the driver's/passengers seat belt." It even measures the distance between the front of your car and the next car as well as the distance between the back of your car and the one behind you. If you're too close, it tells actually slows you down automatically. It's loaded!

I have no plans for Memorial Day - maybe my DH has and hasn't informed me yet - who knows.

I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable Memorial Day tomorrow.

Hi Team,
Today was lots of fun. I had a few glasses of wine last night with my daughter along with cheese and crackers. We talked and talked. I didn't get out of bed until 1:00. We went to town and shopped all over the place. We stopped and got an ice cream cone. It has been so long since I had a cone I loved it. I just finished reading my GS a book and say his prayers. Before that we spent at least half an hour rough housing. I'll feel it tomorrow. The bridge is closed until Monday morning so it looks like I'm staying here until the bridge opens. Its supposed to be really warm tomorrow and my daughter has a pool. I'm looking forward to a couple of great days.

JUDY, WOW a new SUV. Quite the present. What color is it and what is the mileage going to be like? I'm so jealous.

TAWANDA, Oh my, it would have kept me up too. I hope your partner and you are doing better.

Just checking in. I'm going to go look at the challenges and see where I can jump back in. Had a rough night last night; the power went out a few times, and my partner needs a machine to breathe right at night, so I had to keep an eye on him. I mean, he wouldn't have died, but when he stops breathing, it scares the spit out of me. So I was up all night until I felt sure the power was staying back on. Ended up sleeping from 7 to noon. Not exactly good. Anyway, eating well today and ready to take a look at my challenges and ease back in. I'm not going to be too mean to myself if I don't get much done today -- I bought healthy groceries, made lunch and dinner, and, as my partner says, stayed up all night to save his life, so I get to rest now. emoticon

JUDY: Thanks so much for the good wishes, and huge congrats on the great new car!

CARRIE: Feel better soon! Those sinus infections are nothing to mess with. Hope it clears up really quickly.

PAM: Oh, I wish I lived near enough to visit with my kids!!!

I usually get to bed between 10 and 11, and wake up by 7. Most days, I leave for work at 9:30. On Fridays, itís my early day at work, and I get up at 5 and leave at 7. I donít mind it, and I like having 2 to 2.5 hours in the morning to get awake, do some stuff around the house, and then get to work.

CARRIE and TAWANDA - - I pray you are both feeling better and getting plenty of rest (going to bed before midnight) and getting plenty of fluids down. I know how bad those sinus headaches can be!!! IF you are a diabetic, please try to get a can of Ensure, Boost, etc down during the day as part of your fluids as well as getting some nutrition in at the same time. If it takes all day to get it down, that's ok. It still counts as fluids. That doesn't mean to replace it with your water, however.. emoticon

RACHEL - I hope things slow down a bit for you so that you can take care of YOU. Love you girl!!

PAM - I just know you enjoyed your time with your mom It seems like a lot of us are just dragging our feet these past few days. NO Pam! I'm not giving you our weather. You just have to get your own! emoticon . I know you will be enjoying your weekend with your daughter and family. Try not to let the GSs where you down too much!!

Well, I just got my birthday and Christmas presents for the next few years!!! My DH took me to look at some SUVs and yes, we bought one!! We purchased a 2015 Honda SUV Touring (top of the line). We were even able to get our payments down to where we wanted them so I could handle them if something should happen to my DH (already had 2 heart attacks). The SUV is absolutely beautiful!!! It even speaks to us if we don't have our seat belts on - - can't get away with anything - even in my new car!!!

Have a great and safe weekend everyone!!

Hi Team,
Today is a quiet day. Mom and I are going out to dinner tonight since I am going to drive to my daughters tomorrow. I need to pack as much as I can tonight. I'm so excited about seeing them. I beg my GS's have grown a foot. They grow so fast these days. I don't seem to have the energy to exercise today. I have done 4 minutes and after I do the challenge it might be up to 10 or 11, I do more repetitions than it says to do. We'll see how I can boost it up. I really want to do 30-60 minutes but I think that is reaching to far right now.

CARRIE, When your sick you should rest and exerting yourself should be the last thing on your mind. Your cals and stretching is doing well and that is good enough. I'm sure with a sinus your energy level is sapped. That care of yourself. You comes first!!!!

WFL, It sounds like you had a lovely morning. I think I would like walking in the morning. The trick for me would be to get up at 7 a.m. to take the walk. I usually don't get up until 9:00 or later. I have been trying to get to bed by about MN and get up at 9 but lately that is not working. I have been waking up in the middle of the night and not able to get back to seep. I finally turn of the TV and I go back to sleep but its not good sleep and I'm tired all day.

Rachel, Not to worry. We all have periods when life gets in the way. As long as we try to work the program during those stressful times all will be good. I know that during those stressful times is when I tend to fall off my journey. I fall down the mountain and right now I'm in the process of climbing back up again. You go girl and get those steps in.

I know I have been MIA but life is crazy right now. I am chauffeuring inlaws and my mom to DR apts and trying to get the house clean and working in the garden. My youngest ones are thankfully out of school, my oldest should be out around the 4th of June. I am just tired. I am trying to eat better and get my steps in.
This week is the roughest when it comes to town trips. Remember I live in the mountains so a town trip is a all day thing and it just wears me out.
But hopefully life will settle down a little soon and I can check in better.
Everyone have a great day!

Carrie, don't be hard on yourself. Gotta not overdo when we're sick. Hope you feel better soon!

Started the day with a good breakfast, and then my partner and I did Walk Away the Pounds together. We are planning to start every day with the one-mile walk until he feels comfortable moving up (I can walk longer than he can, but he has more strength for lifting weights and stuff). It was really fun to start the day that way, and I hope we can keep it up. Next, we'll go check on the garden and I'll go to work. My 10-to-7 schedule is in some ways a little annoying, but it does mean I have a few hours in the morning to just hang out with him and get my Spark on, so mostly I love it.

Hi Everyone,
I have been very sick this week with what I think is a sinus infection. I have a doctors appointment this afternoon to see what is going on with me. My calories have been ok and so have my stretches. On the other hand my steps and exercises haven't been so good.

Judy: Way to go!

I was sick yesterday and then slept poorly last night, so I'm having trouble getting up any energy for anything today. Am trying to talk myself into exercise, but not having a ton of success. Maybe if I do my daily Sparking, it will spark something in me.

Hi Team,
Today I took Mom to a maintenance respiratory class. She is very tired of having to wear the O2 all day. This class will help build her stamina and hopefully she will no longer need the O2 during the day. Its a boring day today. It's still cloudy with patches of blue here and there. I'm planning on visiting my daughter this weekend. I'm going to babysit one night so they can fo out for the evening for their anniversary.

JUDY, You have our weather again. Give it back!!! Sounds like your making great progress. Pretty soon you'll be good as new. Actually better than new. You go girl!!

emoticon everyone!! Things are going pretty good. I still don't have all my energy back by any means but just taking it one day at a time. The last couple of days, I've actually gotten 1,000+ - 2,000+ steps in! It sure beats 127 steps in a day! I'll take it!!

Weather's been beautiful here in the deep S. TX. low 90's - - wonderful!!! Headed for rain again on Thursday however.

We went and had a timing built replaced and all the other things that go along with it. When they were done with the work on it, they gave us a coupon for $75 off on the job. It sure did help!!

PAM - - Join me with just 1 step at a time - each day is a new day - - - we are so lucky there!!

Hope everyone else is having a great week.

Hi Team,
Today I went to lunch and played bingo with my Mom at the Veteran's Center. It was a lot of fun. Unfortunately I had chocolate today. So far its chocolate 2 and no chocolate 1. I'm going to keep trying. My exercise isn't doing much better. I'm trying to do 15 minutes a day. So far its exercise 1 and not 15 minutes of exercise 2. Tomorrow is another day. I'll get it tomorrow.

TAWANDA, So glad you are feeling well rested and raring to go I hope.

CARRIE, Are you on track with your goals this week?

Did my wall push-ups, then called my kid and kinda crashed into bed while I chatted with her, so I didn't end up getting my walk in yesterday, but getting plenty of sleep helped. I feel a lot better this morning. How is everyone doing?

Thanks so much for the encouragement, everyone! I'm not feeling good today, so I'm not sure I can do the 30 minutes of walking I had planned, but I'm going to do something so that I can keep my ten-minute streak alive. I have wall pushups to do for the challenge, and then we'll see what else.

Hi Team,
Its cloudy and glum outside. It's not very encouraging. I have a hard time getting moving when it looks like this outside. What happened to spring? Oh well, my flowers are happy. I've had cut flowers in my house since Mother's day. As they get old I just go out in the garden and cut more. I put them in a vase full on sprite and they last a very long time. My roses from Mother's Day are still alive.

TAWANDA, Your doing great. I need to be doing as well as you. Today I have had no chocolate and so far I've done 9 minutes of exercise. I still need to do 6 more minutes to complete my goal of 15 minutes per day. At lease I've done better that yesterday. I only did 5 yesterday.

Did my exercise -- tried the 20-minute seated resistance band video from Coach Nicole. I couldn't do all the moves, but I did what I could, and I will try to see how much I improve as time goes on.

Hi Team,

Thanks to everyone for wishing me well. Unfortunately I didn't get the challenges done on time so they will start on Monday.

JUDY, Take it easy. Remember slow and steady girl. Its a good thing that you don't have any dr. appts for a couple of weeks. I'm so sorry to hear about your son. Don't worry to much. Our Father can't work on things if you keep taking it back. I have had two strokes. The neat thing about our brains is that if it isn't a major stroke they often re-wire themselves. I was told that if it didn't correct itself within a year then any damage is probably permanent. That's a long time to worry. BTW the Lord doesn't think your so strong. That's why he is sending you through so much. That is why I never pray for strength. If you ask for it He will send you through everything to strengthen you us. emoticon

CARRIE & WFL, Thank you for your thoughtfulness.

PAM - I'm so glad you decided to listen to your body and stayed home!!! If you had gone, you could have killed yourself and someone else if you had had a car accident. I'm so glad you listened to yourself!! I pray that next week you will be feeling better and will be able to enjoy your grandchildren more.

For myself, I am exhausted!!! I've overdone it, I'm sure!! I'm trying to get my strength back by walking such as at a store where it's a little more interesting than in the house. No more dr appointments for either of us until the 30th (DH's). We went out to Tony Roma's with some friends who live kiddie corner from us and are moving back next weekend to N. Dakota full time in independent living. Yes, I enjoyed my ribs but should have quit much, much sooner!!! Sure am happy for new days!!!

Also, I received a call from my D-I-L informing me that my son was in the hospital for a probable stroke. He just turned 43 with a wife and 4 children (teenagers). My D-I-L woke up the other morning and my son was still sleeping - he's usually up about 4 hours before her. She had trouble waking him up and when she did get him up, his speech was what they call "deliberate" and not smooth. They did a carotid scan on him which showed fine. The next day they did an ultrasound of his heart which also showed fine. They discharged him the next night with instructions for a special MRI of the brain on the 1st of June. My son has an instrument that works like a tenz unit except it's implanted in his back which goes directly to his spine where his injury was - the charger part of the instrument is located in his behind. So, because of this instrument in his body, they have to have a special MRI machine to do it. They discharged him as having a stroke and TIA of the brain. So, needless to say, it's been rather hectic here - no wonder why I'm feeling so exhausted. I keep telling myself that God's in control and I know He is!! I have total faith in Him but yet I'm just having trouble not thinking about it. God must think I'm awfully strong as He keeps letting more things come our way!!

I am able to sleep in my bed now which is a plus. My bowels, however, are quite sluggish and I really need them to move more!!! Fruit, fruit, and more fruit. Lots of liquids too!!

Well, I'm going to end it here and lean back for a while. I pray everyone has a Blessed weekend!!

Hi Team,

Today I have mixed feeling. I was really looking forward to visiting my Grandsons this weekend. Its about an hour and 1/2 hour drive away. I was so excited but Thursday I didn't feel under control. I have epilepsy and I do have my license. I have had no seizures while driving and I have accomplished this by not driving when I was not feeling under control. So I called my daughter and I had to cancel. It was a good thing as I had 2 seizures last night and 1 this morning. They really take a lot out of me. Even if I had managed to go and not kill someone on the road, I wouldn't have been able to enjoy myself. On top of that 1 of my GS came home from school sick. I guess this weekend was destined to be a flop. We are going to try it again next weekend.

JUDY, WOW Its no wonder your worn out with all that running around. You have definitely made some improvement. I pray that if its in the Lord's will that your DH get admitted into the new trial. Make sure you get in those nutrients along with the calories. It can be difficult to balance it all out. Do what you think is best. We are all behind you.

INKEDL emoticon To the best team on the web. Well maybe I'm a bit prejudice. I know exactly what your talking about. My stuff, your stuff, her stuff, his stuff and everybody's stuff. That's my life. Every once in a while I need to take a step back and concentrate on my needs and myself. I think that's why I ended up in trouble this weekend. Its important to take that time off especially when you are a giver by nature. Take that time for you!!!

Whatever challenge you face today, know that we are all here rooting for you and cheering you on! My challenge today is to beat back the negative feelings. They are creeping in. My biggest issue lately is spending my time and energy all on others. And not just the kids. It takes so much away from me and what I have accomplished and all that I still need to do. Today, I reign in the desire to handle everyone elses stuff for them. Today it is back to me.
Love and light!

emoticon - Well today we went out to Beto's Restaurant with some friends of ours - our usual Wednesday morning "date". Can't beat the price for Ham/Cheese/Green Pepper omelets w/egg beaters, tomato slices, whole wheat toast, salsa and homemade coffee plus tax is only $9.28 for the both of us!!!! Can't afford to move back up North even if we wanted to with prices like that down here. All the waitresses are like our own kids and they feel the same. Always a smile and ALWAYS a hug from all of them when we come in - - even our little "girls" get a strip of bacon (free) from two of the waitresses whom the "girls" were named after.

My DH and I spent 2 hours at the lung specialist where my DH is being considered a different COPD Research (all expenses paid) and only 5 blocks from our door!! If accepted for this one he will get paid $50 for each clinical visit attended etc. From there we went home, had lunch and had just about an hour before we had to go to my surgeons office for my post-op checkup - another 1 1/2 hours there. By the time we got home it was about supper time so I took my DH out for supper and still stayed within my calorie range. Surgeon wants me to start drinking Ensure or Boost to make sure I'm getting enough nutrition in me for a while as I've been so exhausted for the past few days. Pain is still there but getting bearable. Lots of swelling in my abdomen yet so I have to go back in 3 weeks to see her again. Yesterday, we spent about another 1 1/2 hours at the eye dr's appointment for myself. My DH has to do all the driving yet. We were just kiddie corner from Walmart so we went there - - what a fiascle (sp) we had with the cashier. Had to go to the Service Desk to get things straightened out - the first person had such a hard time trying to figure out what the clerk did that she had to call someone else to help figure it out as well !! I'm about done with Walmart!!! With all that running, no wonder why I'm exhausted!!!

Anyway, no more storms since the last one but we do have the possibility of more storms throughout this week and next week.

PAM - - You made me laugh!! I've been needing a good laugh lately but so glad it was a week after my surgery!!! Thunder doesn't bother me but this one was so loud that I sat up in bed (ouch) and the "girls" had to cuddle as they were petrified from it and usually sleep right through storms!! Apartment living in TX is a good place for cockroaches!!! As they say, "things grow big in TX"!! I'm glad I'm in our own mobile home!! We don't have any, but I have seen some even in the street that were about 3" long and 1" wide - - oh yes, they can also fly!!! They get big enough down here in S. TX anyway that your sister was about right when she said "train them to turn down the bed at night"!! No thank you!!!

Anyway, I hope everyone has a great day tomorrow. Keep sparkin!!

Hi Team,
Today has been a trial to say the least. I went to the psych and we are going to change my medication. We talked about increasing my medication but it seems that the side effect of this is that it causes a heart problem that causes you to drop dead. Neither of us liked that side effect so she is switching the med. I'm so glad she is.

After that I went to mom's to do the bills. Once again we discussed that the business expenses need to come out of the business bank account and the personal expenses need to come out of the personal account. We have had this discussion for the last 3 months. Mom figures that whatever account has the most money in it is where the bills should come out of. I spent 3 hours doing bills manually. I asked her to think about letting me do the bills my way. It would take me a lot less time. She tells me that she doesn't want to ask me to do anything. We talked about it and I asked her to think about it. In reality she's just not willing to turn it over yet but the bills don't get paid on time and sometimes get missed altogether and the balances are always seriously off.

After that I went to pick up groceries with my DH. There was a lot and I always give a lot of it away. After I sorted it all out and had boxes to deliver; my husband was hurting and starting yelling that he was not going to go with me. I figure ok I'm going to rearrange the boxes so I only need to take two boxes (because of frozen items) instead of 6. Meanwhile he's yelling at me that he is not going with me. After the 4th time I yelled back that I heard him the first 3 times he told me. I think he felt bad cause he slithered into his room. I was so angry. Oh well I'm not angry any more. He hurts so much some times.

JUDY, Sorry you were in so much pain. I'm glad you are feeling a bit better. I'm glad you were able to go out for Mother's Day. I hate thunder!! When I was in my 20's (a long long long time ago) I lived in Virginia. They had terrible thunder storms. There was a church behind our house and there was lightening rod on it. Needless to say when the thunder hit it was so loud. We rarely had any thunder in the bay area and when we did it was very mild. The first thunder clap we had I crawled up on the couch and cried. I had much the same reaction when I got married and moved out of the house and went to TX. We moved into an apartment and when I opened the cupboard there was a graveyard of dead cockroaches. That time I crawled up on the coach, cried and called my mama. My sister teased me that I could train them to turn down my bed at night. Then one night I seen a huge one crawling on my spread at night. I screamed, tossed the spread and wouldn't go back to bed until my then husband found and killed it.

WFL, I blame the change in your name on my failing eyesight. Everything is so blurry when I'm typing. Glad you got your walk in today. I wish I had gotten in a walk today also.

MOOMSHINE, emoticon on the new emoticon . What a wonderful Mother's Day present. I'm so happy for you. You went on vacation and only gained 1-2 pounds. That sounds great. You'll lose that in no time.

KELLY, I have faith that you will get there. Just take your time and you will make it.

MOONBEAM, So glad your back. I hope everything with the family is okay. I'm not doing well on my fitness minutes at all. I'm not even recording any more. I'm sure I'll do better next month. You go girl, you can do it.

Thank you Pam! This was my first border crossing and it was awesome. I'm pretty excited about crossing into the normal weight range soon.

Got a new grandson for mother's day! It took him three days to get here, so I had plenty of time to spend with the sweet grandgirls. Am fully recovered from the 500 mi rnd trip, which seems to get longer each time. Gained a lb or two, but am motivated.

I'm tempted to say, Welcome to the group, Wolfie, but instead: Welcome WHOLEFOODLOVER!

Other than some weird back pain for the past couple of days, everything's going pretty well for me. Y'all have been amusing me today by turning my WholeFoodLover username into WolfeFoodLover, but I kinda like it. emoticon

My mom had us down for dinner tonight. As she gets older, her cooking gets worse, so it was not great, but I just picked at some of it, and then had some little tomatoes when I got home to make sure I had something healthy and yummy.

At work, I went for a walk on my break to make sure my streak stayed alive, and I'm glad, because right now, my back is out.

Well, a week has gone by since surgery and I haven't done a thing - - my husband makes sure I don't lift anything, stoop, bend etc etc. What a hawk he is - - but a wonderful hawk!! Saturday (maybe Friday - my days have gotten all mixed up) my husband wanted to call 911 for an ambulance for me - - I was in so much pain!!! I had him take the prescription for Toradol I received when I left the hospital. I had decided to take some Tylenol #3 instead of getting the Toradol filled as I know the Toradol is a strong NSAID and I've had bleeding ulcers before. I took the Toradol and it worked almost as good as the Dilaudid (which is 10 x stronger than Morphine) did. What a relief. The pain was better on Sunday. so my DH took me out to Harold's Country Kitchen for Mother's Day. I had been filling up much faster than usual since y surgery so I did quite well.

Tomorrow I see the surgeon and hopefully will get the couple of staples out. I have been sore from under the breast and down to the pubic bone as well as hip to hip. It might have been a laproscopic surgery but I had less pain when they opened me up for my hernia repairs and my 2 colon removals!!!! She had told me there was more to do once she got in there and that it took longer - - she made a believer out of me!!!

What a storm we had all day yesterday and last night!!! I've never heard such loud cracking thunder in my entire life! It was 1:30 A.M. when the loud one hit and I sat right up in bed - - OUCH to the abdomen!!! Layed back down and all of a sudden our 2 little girls came running in from the front bedroom where there dad was and jumped in bed with me!!!!! I was actually waiting for my DH to say "Can I come in here with you guys?" but he didn't. I was waiting though!!! The girls seem to come to me when they aren't feeling good or are scared - just like kids!!

PAM - - Glad you had a great Mother's Day and now that you have the eating and drinking out of you system - - let's get down to work!! I wish I could, but it will be a while before I can do much of anything. I did get some shopping in today but my DH did all the lifting etc. We didn't get that much so I just pushed the cart. I've been exhausted since!!

RACHEL - Sounds like you'll be having a good garden again this year!! I sure do miss those good Fall squash, pickles etc etc. Things just don't taste as good as they did up north!

WOLFEFOODLOVER - - Welcome aboard. You're in a great team with lots of support!!!

Well, I think I'm going to get off of here, have my snack and go to bed!!!

Judy F emoticon emoticon emoticon Friends.

Hi team,
The last few days have been eventful.

I had a fantastic Mother's Day. My daughter and son-in-law, grandsons, husband, my mom and I all went to a champagne brunch. My son-in-law and my husband don't dringk so I had them get champagne too. They never come around for refills often enough. I had about 3 rounds and one more glass. My mom poured half of my glass into her water glass. I told the waitress that I needed a top off since mom stole some. She topped me off and filled mom's water glass. Mom drank all of it. I know that I was buzzed and I'm sure mom was too. The food was excellent and a great time was had by all. We went to pay the bill and found out that my son-in-law beat us to it. It was very much appreciated and a wonderful surprise. We passed around each others MD cards and gifts and when I got home I promptly went to bed for a drunken nap. My husband got me two beautiful cards and a balloon. I've never seen a round Mylar balloon before.

The bad news is I have gained 15 pounds over the last few months. All the drinking didn't help any. Friday I had a couple of glasses of wine. Who know how many glasses of champagne I had on Sunday and I went to a funeral Monday and after my girlfriends and I had 2 rounds of tequila and 2 beers. I'm not usually a drinker and it will be quite some time before I drink again. This was just to much not to mention all the eating I've been doing. Time to get back on the health train. emoticon

RACHEL, All you need to do to share is box is up and send it overnight delivery so it doesn't spoil. I think that's a fantastic idea, don't you? I hope your Mother's day was as great as mine.

WOLFEFOODLOVER, emoticon to the most awesome team in all of Sparkdom. Well maybe I'm just a bit prejudice. How is your week going. Well I hope. I hope you're enjoying all the team has to offer. Have a great day

CARRIE, What are you up to these days. I guess everyone is playing out in the sun and nobody has anything to report on these days.

HAVE FUN EVERYONE.

It counts both. That is, each time one of your feet lifts and lowers, that's a step.

The same way SP does -- it knows your weight and how far you walked, and how fast, and it has formulas for those things.

Hi team,
Yesterday was a terrible day. Not enough exercise and way to much food and the food was mostly carbs and fat. I need to be a bit more responsible. Today is a great day. Its Friday which is Mom's day. Went to pick up food today and they were having a Mother's day party. You were supposed to sign up ahead of time but the lady just let me in. There was food (didn't eat much) a band and singing. I danced a bit (burned some calories). It was fun. I got a bunch of books from my neighbor. Bags and bags of them (burned more calories). There in great shape and I'm going to donate them to the Senior center. They have a honor system library for the seniors. In a couple of hours I'm going to dinner with Mom. I'm really in the mood for salmon. Sunday we are taking Mom to brunch. My daughter and her family will be coming too. I'm really looking forward to seeing my grandsons. Went out with mom tonight. I got my salmon. The dinner was very low cal but the glass and a half of wine wasn't and the dessert wasn't. Mom and I split the dessert.

RACHEL, I know what you mean about the evening munchies. That is the hardest time for me too. Sometimes I'm not even hungry and by the time I figure that out I've already eaten whatever. The other night I wanted some Ritz with peanut butter and jelly. I didn't have any Ritz so I ate some of this and some of that because I was trying to find something to curb that craving. Never found anything and ate a lot of calories trying. I remember your garden from last year. You made me very jealous with all your wonderful veggies. Send some this way this year.

JUDY, It sounds fantastic. It's amazing what modern medicine can do. I'm glad your able to recuperate at home instead of in the hospital. Go slow and we will all be here to cheer you on. Lots of love, prayers and healing thoughts coming your way.

KELLY, emoticon What do you mean nothing spectacular? Losing 1-2 pounds a week and losing the "obese" title is pretty fantastic to me. I remember when I went from being Morbidly Obese to Obese and then finally to overweight. Those were fantastic days. I don't ever want to go back. You are awesome! Congratulations!!!

MIMI, It is great news that you are getting the meds straightened out. Hopefully it won't take as long as you suspect. I'm going to my psych this week to get my meds adjusted. My depression is getting the better of me and I'm sure once I get the meds adjusted I will be doing better also. Congratulations on the weight loss. I hope to join you soon.

TERRY, Thank you and HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to you to. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

These last few months have been hard on me. I have had major set backs and breakdowns. On some new meds and it seems to be helping. Trying to find my new normal and its going to be a long ride.

On a good note since on the new meds and taken off of some my weight on my doc scale has brought me down to where I first started this weight loss ride. I haven't been this weight in 2 years. I think all t h e added medicine had a lot to do with it

Well anyways I will be back later tonight with some personals and question tread that I need to do.I hope everyone has a great Friday

Judy that is great news, GOD is Good!! I know he is going to continue to heal you, (hugs & prayers)

Carrie I am doing better on eating, I went to Mexican yesterday with my Aunt and the girls and I got grilled chicken and veggies and I got the cheese sauce on the side and only ate a tiny bit of it. Plus I only ate half a serving of the chips on the table so I am happy.

WTG Fittereveryday!!

I started making these overnight oats, you can make all flavors and they are very filling. They have been a big help. I make some for breakfast and I have them for snack too sometimes. I really like the nobake cookie and the cookie dough. The range about 265 cals each but they are worth it because they are healthier and more filling than a candy bar.
We have had beautiful weather lately, The garden is almost all planted. I can't wait till everything starts coming up. I have a few more seeds to plant tomorrow.
Have a great weekend!

Sorry I haven't been around a lot. Anyway I'm finally losing again (thanks to actually tracking my food...) and at a pretty good clip (1-2lbs most weeks). I crossed over line into just being overweight last month (yay no more being obese!) and on my way down.

Other than that life is good. Nothing spectacular. Work is getting quiet which is nice.
