SUSAN - We are all here for you no matter what the reason is. Venting is permitted!!! Besides, if we don't vent when something is bothering us then many of us turn to food for comfort instead and that would be self-defeating.

Is your DH overweight by any chance? If he is, I'd say he was just maybe a little jealous of you working at losing weight by eating differently and having a good support group besides.

I'm really fortunate as my DH feels like I do w4e both dirty the plates so we both do the dishes; we both wear clothes every day so we both wash clothes etc etc.

"Father, I come before you on behalf of m sister. You know the circumstances that are going on in their home I pray that you will smooth things over and bring peace to both my sister and her husband. Help Susan to have peace and comfort. Let her feel your loving arms around her right now I pray. I also ask Lord, that you will speak to her husband and put on his heart to be a helping husband; one that will see that it's not all my sister's fault and that they both make the messes etc in their home and that they both need to work together to clean the home. I know that when two people are helping with the household chores that it goes so much faster and that they can actually have a good time while doing it. Father, if you had wanted things to be this way that you would have made woman from Adams feet and not from his ribs. Woman was made to be a helpmate for man and not a slave to him. Speak to him Father and let him see that it takes two to help each other. Work in both of their lives Father so that their marriage will become strong the way you had intended for a marriage to be. I thank you Lord for my sister and I thank You for taking care of the matter in Your timing. We give you all the Praise and Glory for answered prayers. Thank you Lord!! I ask it all in the Name of Jesus. Amen

I will keep you in my prayers Susan throughout the week. emoticon emoticon

Feeling a little down today. Woke up grouchy and then DH got after me and let out what he has been feeling for some time I guess. He fussed at me for spending so much time on Sparkpeople and not tending to things around the house. He got quite upset about it and it made me feel bad as I don't spend a lot of time on Spark. I spend the time I need and while I am sparking I am doing other things at the same time. I do my chores while sparking. I get things done. No, I don't do much housework because to be honest i feel it is a waste of time. DH makes a mess and doesn't' do his part to keep things tidy so why should I bust my hump to clean and keep things neat when he trashes them? He is a slob and so I have become a slob. He really hurt my feelings as Spark is all I have. I don't run around outside the house with friends or go places. I have nothing buy my Spark. He forgets about all the time he spends playing computer games for hours upon hours and I never said anything. I never got after him for it. He comes to bed at 2 or so after playing and then gets up again during the night when he can't' sleep and spends a few more hours on the computer.

I'm just hurt and mad. I have so very little in my life. Give me my Spark and be thankful I am not spending money on useless stuff.

Thanks for letting me vent!!!!

NANCY - I wish I had a lake to walk around - that would be so serene!!. My DH ALWAYS puts ice cream, potato chips, and chocolate candy bars in my basket - - I think it would be better if he would stay in the car!!

KATHY - What a great way to spend some of your birhthday - to have your son ask you to escort him! That is such an honor!!

RW - One thing I tell the people in the Diabetes Program on SP - "When that time comes when the scale doesn't seem to move, just look backwards and remember how far you've already come, how much looser your clothes are, how much more energy you have, and how much healthier your are." You'll get there!! Just hang in there!! emoticon and together emoticon .

PAM - Great job on losing that weight. I knew you wouold do it!! You did beat us on here today - - emoticon .

Today is overcast with just a few sprinkles - upper 70's here today. Got all my "fat" clothes down to the Salvation Army. Our church already had more than enough clothes and didn't need anymore.

Have a great and healthy weekend everyone!!

In the 70's here for the whole weekend! WooHoo! I am getting ready to go walking and tomorrow, Jim and I are heading to a Traders Market to walk for several hours before we head to the airport to send me off to Colorado!

Looking forward to my birthday next Friday because - Brenden (my middle son), was nominated for Prom Court, those nominated will be giving a speech the day before Prom (my birthday!), and he asked me to escort him to the podium! Alex (my youngest), is on Student Council and he will be going in earlier that day to help decorate and set up for the Prom.

Proud Momma here!!! I'm going to post a pic right now of the Prom King nominee on my blog.

Enjoy the weekend!!!!

RW - Have fun coloring the eggs. I miss the days if having little ones to color eggs with and making baskets for. I bought some candy even though it will just be my husband and I.

Hey everybody,
Today is cleaning day, But fun starts tonight when we color eggs.😊 Tomorrow, I will make my sides for Easter dinner and then we are going to a Easter play. Sunday is church then egg hunt.
I doubt if my eating will be great so I am going to focus on getting my steps in and no diet pop.

Nancy enjoy your beautiful day! It is suppose to be nice here tomorrow and Sunday.
I over indulged yesterday with late night snacking. I think it was because I tried on clothes and I was so upset with how I look. So I had a poor me moment. Back on doing better today!

Everyone have a blessed Easter!

Chakara - Have a wonderful time. Walking on the beach sounds absolutely heavenly! Congrats on being married 19 years.

Judy - The last two nights have been better sleeping for me too. I overdid it in junk food last night. My husband went grocery shopping with me and that was a disaster. Two kinds of cookies, two different snack cakes and I had to sample all of it. Grr. No self control at all.

RW - You're doing great on the no pop!

Pam - I know I need to make better choices. Maybe next week I can get refocused since I will only be cooking for me.

It looks like a beautiful day here today. I slept I this morning so no workout. The sun is shining so I will get outside and walk for my 30 minute lunch break.

Hi Team!

I'm looking forward to Easter. We don't have family dinners or anything but I'm really looking forward to going to church. Today has been a quiet day. Went to the store and bought a couple of dresses that were on sale. Got home just in time to meet the repairman. Worked out for over an hour and I'm going to have left overs for dinner. That's it for me. Looking forward to tomorrow. It's dinner with Mom. My favorite day of the week!

CHAKARA, You are so welcome. I hope your heart catches up fast. Swimming and walking on the beach sounds like a lot more fun than a gym. Happy early anniversary. You better hang on to that good man. I'm told they are in short supply.

NANCY, emoticon if you want to make headway, better choices are necessary. I have trimmed down again by drinking more water and eating low cal snacks all day. If your stomach is full you are less likely to eat stuff that's not good for you.

Barbara, So nice to see you here. I'm so glad to hear how much the challenges are helping and I really appreciate you letting me know. How is you son doing?

KATHY, ISNEVER SATISFIED emoticon I'm glad your weather is getting better. I should go for more walks. The weather is perfect for it right now.

JUDY, Isn't great to go through the closet and weed out all The "fat" clothes? I gave mine to others first and still had 3 large bags that I took to a local church that gives them away. You did great at dinner!

Have a great night! Have a fantastic Friday. I know I will. Sweet dreams.

Chiropractor and hair apt for me. Picked up my daughter from school. My DH had a dentist apt. Then there was the dreaded grocery shopping.
Bad news eating was bad but still no diet pop.

CHAKARA praying for you, enjoy your vacation.

PAM I know your a very sweet person, your love for others comes out in your posts.

It was beautiful out today - temps of 82. We had just a nice light rain about 7 p.m. - we really need the rain. Went out to supper with some friends at Denny's. I did very well - - I had the Senior Grilled Chicken with a large salad with light ranch salad dressing, steamed broccoli and mashed potatoes (I took the gravy off before I ate it other than a very little bit for flavor) and 2 glasses of ice water. Went through more clothes (too big) and have them bagged up (4 large bags) and will be taking them down to Salvation Army in the morning.

CHAKARA - - Enjoy your time away and RELAX!!!! I am in agreement with Pam's prayer. God will give you His perfect peace!!

KATHY - Get ready for gardening!!!! Garden a little bit for me too please. Hopefully it will stay warm enough now!!

BARB - Great job on drinking your water!! emoticon

NANCY - Me too. It was a struggle for me the past couple of days. I did get more sleep last night so today was a little better for the most part.

PAM - I am in agreement with your prayer for Chakara.

Well, I'd better get busy and get my last snack in so I can another night of better sleep.

See ya'll tomorrow.

Judy

I am feeling a little better this evening. Busy Packing packing packing! I will be glad to leave tomorrow. They have a fitness room, but I think I am going to concentrate on swimming and walking on the beach. Both of those exercises I find relaxing.

Wednesday my hubby and I will be married 19 years. Some days it feels like yesterday and some days it feels like forever. He is a good one and I am lucky.

I carried all my potted plants from the garage back out to the deck this morning - WooHoo! That's because it's supposed to be high 60's and keep going from there! Yay! I then took off on a power walk in our neighborhood - did 2 miles and then had to go to the bathroom so headed back home - I just chugged down an entire mason jar of infused water (mixture of fruits and mint) I am now going to lift weights and work -

Pam, yes, I sprayed every day - with that big sprayer I got- it was super easy and I'm outside walking the property every day anyway and always checking for bugs on plants - great exercise and I love yard/garden work.

Jim told me this morning as he was leaving for work that I have 6 months of enjoying walking outside - Yay!!!! Of course, I had to hold in the thoughts of "but I want 10!" Lol! Not one to be negative out loud - I said, "watch out!"

Enjoy your day everyone! emoticon

I am so trying to get back on track. And the challenges here have been just the ticket for me. I have actually been drinking water every day!! Amazing - and even my son is impressed.
The GARDENING TIME challenge I am not keeping up with as much as i had wanted to except that it has challenged me to get to the club more. But i do plan to finish!! I just had to list the plan so i can be sure to do all of them,

Thanks so much, Pam, for posting these for us They are really inspiring to me - and i find that i really do them, even tho i may not always get my part posted.

RW - emoticon for giving up soda and for skipping the burger!

Pam - We sleep with the ceiling fan for the noise. That's the only sound I an use when hubby is home. Last night was better. I've had a lot on my mind lately and I think that's the problem.

Judy - Thanks for the reminder about the tea. I bought some a couple weeks ago and forgot about it. I will try that tonight.

Chakara - I hope you get the answers and the help needed for your son. I'm sure the vacation will be good for you.

I've been struggling lately. I've been tired and when I'm tired I eat junk. I slept better last night but still didn't get up early enough to workout this morning. I have salad packed for lunch so hopefully I will make better choices today.

Thank you Pam! That prayer made me cry. I have a difficult time sharing this with friends and family or even my church. I am typically the most "together" person I know and I have felt a little like I am coming undone. I have no control over the situation which is tough for me. I know God has it under control, just waiting for my heart to catch up with my head.

JUDY, We also use soapy water for the white flies that get on our roses. We were told about it by our gardener.

CHAKARA, my youngest daughter was labeled learning disabled. She also has a hi IQ. She was able to compensate and graduate from high school in the top 5%. My oldest daughter was ADHD before they new what it was. She is also allergic to gluten before we knew anything about that. We had a terrible time with her and didn't know why until she was an adult. She leads a normal happy life without the use of meds (which she took for years). Life for both my girls was not easy. I'm sure the circumstances are not near the same but regardless of what the tests say The Lord has a plan and it most likely is not whatever you have envisioned in your head. Keep the faith.

Dearest Heavenly Father, please wrap your loving arms around my dear friend CHAKARA and her family. Let them feel your holy presence in their lives. Please dear Lord send them help for their son. Touch the medical persons and others that have a hand in his future. Whisper to CHAKARA and her husband that they may know that you are close at hand. Dear Lord let the desires of their heart and meditations of their soul come to pass for their son. Let them know that you have a plan for them and that all things work together for good to those that love The Lord. Lord please help them to be at peace. Ease their minds and help them to rest. Help them to turn their troubles over to you that you may work it out for them. Dear Lord I ask all these things in your precious name. Amen

Now rest dear friend. Please have a great day tomorrow. You need that vacation! emoticon emoticon emoticon

DH's grandma was released today. They discharged her right out of ICU so she is obviously doing better than they expected.

We had our final evaluation today. Now we wait for the reports to come in and for the school to schedule a meeting. I am trying to mentally prepare myself. This whole process is overwhelming and stressful. I am not sleeping and have not had an appetite. (Quite a change for me, I usually binge when stressed. Now I feel nauseated.) The behaviorist today said that he is going to be labeled learning disabled. He is the third screener who has urged us to get a medical diagnosis. He suggested that his high IQ is indicative of underlying issues. I don't want to think about any of it anymore.

We leave for Myrtle beach Fri. evening. I can't wait. I am ready to go. I need the mental break.

Hello everyone! Hope ya'll had a great day!!! I have a strong desire to nibble today!! It's so unusual for me. Seems like today no matter what I've eaten it leaves me wanting something different for some reason. Hope it's gone by tomorrow morning!

RW - Congrats on your 6-day streak for no diet pop!! Great job! Good choice on choosing while out shopping and eating.

NANCY - Hope you get some better sleep tonight! Be sure you aren't on the computer or reader for at least 1/2 - 1 hour before bed. The blue light in the background has a tendency to keep us awake - same goes for the television. Soft music, long bath, nice book (or a boring book) and a cup of camiolle (sp) tea are great ways to help us get to sleep. For me, I will lay in bed and when I can't sleep I'll start praying - - that the fastest way for satan to put you to sleep! He can't stand it when I pray.

COOKIE - Hope you start having better and happier dreams soon.

KATHY - Dawn dish detergent is used for lots of things. We treat plants with Dawn to kill white flies that we get from the cotton plants down here.

Well, time for me to go. Tonight I AM going to get to bed earlier tonight!!

Have a god evening.

Judy

Hi all,
I hope you all have a wonderful day. I was really bad last night. I bought a bag of vegetable chips by Terra. I love them, but don't buy often. I ate the entire 5 oz bag. That is 5 servings at 150 calories per serving. The only saving grace is each ounce is a full serving of vegetables. Bad still the same. Today I'll do better.

KATHY, Thanks for the tips. Did you really have to spray everything every day? The soap is a good idea because you can't use the stuff I bought on anything edible.

emoticon dreaming about death does not mean death of a person. It usually means death of a trait or part of yourself. You have been trying to change your life and your subconscious is working it out.

Try soothing music. I find that certain types of sounds sooth me and help me sleep. I like listening to rain. I also like some oriental sounds. I found it on Utube and play it all night long.

NANCY, Try to use sounds at night. Read my message to cookie. I explained it all to her today. I hope you sleep better tonight.

RACHAEL, I used to drink a 2-liter bottle of diet coke each day. I used to get articles all the times from my friends. Depending on what kind of soda you were drinking you could be going through withdrawal from either caffeine or the artificial sweetener.

I have to take Mom to the doctor so I'm off. Have a good time.

Hello,
I have been trying to stop drinking diet pop, today will make day six.
Thanks to Kathy 😊 I have been drinking water infusions. When I go out to eat I drink unsweetened tea or sweet tea but just a small amount.
I have been having pains here and there, and they just happened to start after I quit drinking it. So I wonder if it is a fluke or if I am having withdraw symptoms.

I don't know what steps I got in yesterday because I had to charge my fitbit, I am going o get them in one way or another today.

Had a bad freeze on this morning and suppose to frost again tonight. Not happy with Mother Nature at all.

Had a good eve with my oldest daughter yesterday, we went and had our nails done and dud some Easter shopping. Wanted to eat a big fattening burger but went with the salad and spinach plate instead. I knew I did not have enough cals left for the burger.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Judy - I hope you get your warmer weather. I don't have arthritis but I'm ready for Spring!

Pam - I'm glad you were able to enjoy warmer weather. It was a little warmer here yesterday. It not like normal, my day yesterday was ok. Today I am tired and have little patience.

Kathy - I live near Bloomington. Your garden sounds nice. I was wondering if the pineapple would grow here. I want to try that too.

Cookie - I''m sure those recent deaths do have something to do with your dreams. I hope you're able to get some better sleep soon.

I haven't been sleeping well myself lately. Yesterday I woke up at 3:00 and couldn't get beck to sleep. I usually get up around 4:00. Today I woke up at 2:45 and decided to sleep in. I dozed off and on until 5:30. I might have felt better if I just got up early and worked out. Tonight I will take something to help me sleep.

Thanks. Yes, the idea of a relaxing scent sounds wonderful, but I have asthma that is triggered by many scents. Funny, but food scents like vanilla and cinnamon are OK...lavender and other florals are not.

Another funeral dream last night. I was planning somebody's funeral. I am sure some dream expert would be able to scare me to pieces, but I will just chalk it off to a sister, a cousin and an aunt dying in the last month. I figure it is a stress reliever in its own way. We did preplan and prepay our own funeral a couple weeks ago, and are waiting for my sister's death certificate, so I guess I can expect some thought carry over.

I used to dream that I was eating glutened foods, and would wake in a panic, expecting to be sick. I guess waking up expecting to be dead is along the same idea. lol

This too shall pass.

If this was your last day, how would you spend it?

PAM,

soapy water - read on..............

I understand your frustration with the squirrels - we have that problem here as well, I started putting tall cheap fencing around certain plants like baby trees and shrubs until they could get established due to the squirrels, rabbits raccoon and deer. The deer can lean over the fence soooo - another thing we learned last year from a friend - put clear dawn dish soap (just a few drops) in to a sprayer with water, and hose the heck out of your plants. I bought an $8 sprayer from Walmart, the kind you pump and spray like you see professional gardeners use - much, much easier than a hand sprayer - you can also reach high trees easier with this- the clear dawn is sometimes hard to find - I found it at Lowe's. I sprayed that cherry tree every day, twice a day last year - the animals hate that taste. The cherry tree is finally happy Now the tree is in full bloom - it was a baby last year - now it's over 8' WooHoo! I'm still going to spray it and several other plants this year as well.

I also came up with a fabulous idea last year that protected my blueberry plants. We eat pineapple for snacks and I freeze for smoothies. Jim started planting the tops of the pineapple to see what would happen and you'd be amazed how easily they take root. Soooooo I put them in a circle around my blueberry plants because they are like cactus! The animals won't try and eat them due to being prickly and painful and they won't try to walk over them to get to the blueberries! It worked!! Now, I still spray my blueberry bushes with the soap water due to the birds and also the tree due to the birds. When I pick blueberries, I throw them in a tub in the sink and let them soak a bit - enough water to just go over them and then I rub my hand lightly over them to roll them back and forth and then drain - you don't won't to leave in the water too long or it will absorb the flavor and they will have no taste.

I plant all my herbs in pots so I can move them around and at the end of the year when it starts getting cold, we bring them in and put them under a grow light in the basement of the other house so that I'm able to enjoy my herbs for a couple of more months before they quit because they really prefer sun but I was able to keep my mint growing until Feb.

I put lemon seeds just from lemons I use in my water infusions in pots and they are beautiful little plants with thorns so I have those all around the outside of the deck on the ground because they are over 3 feet now and the leaves are beautiful - it's a shade of green I can't explain and I love the thorns - birds and animals stay off our deck.

You'll love your mint plant - in the mean time while you wait - go get a cheap box of spearmint tea from Walmart - use the bag in your water infusions. It's really delicious! Every time my husband takes a drink - he goes "minty" and smiles. I love it when a drink does that to you - it makes you smile and say, "aaahhh...."

NANCY - where are you in Illinois? I'm in Terre Haute

COOKIE - you have a very nice attitude about your card making and that is so true about the disease not taking a day off. I love how you say a prayer at each step of your card making - making it, sealing it, mailing it. You are having some unsettling dreams which means you are also not resting well - you need a deep, restful sleep. Maybe you can walk for a long time at a park or down a long suburban street and then go take a hot bath and curl up with a book until you nod off? You also may need a nice scent in your home to help you relax. I bought those plug in wallflowers from bath and body works with the Lavender/vanilla scent and it's just pure heaven. I know they are offering $10 off 30 on their site but if you have a store near you - just go buy the cheap $6 plug in - the fancy ones are $9 and the $4 scent and see what happens. They are great about if you don't like it - they'll take it back. I tried a honeysuckle, I think it is too strong and I love honeysuckle, but I'm taking it back and exchanging for a new scent they have out that I'm curious about.

Going walking

Enjoy your day everyone!

Good evening!

It's only 7:30 and I must make dinner soon. Today was a gorgeous day. I even had my shorts on. First time this year. I got mom out in the sun today and we went for a bit of a walk. First mom walk of the year also. It's time to get her going. A little at a time in nice weather usually does the trick. I'm tired of all the weeds in our lawn so we bought some weed killer for the lawn. The problem is I think our lawn is about 60-70% weeds. emoticon I sprayed it today and it's already starting to work. We also bought some new seed and some lawn patch. We can't put the seed down for 4 weeks. Our lawn just started looking good. It's going to get all brown and ugly for awhile but it will be so nice when we are all done. I have three Christmas cactus growing in my yard. They are supposed to have beautiful blooms. The trouble is the squirrels eat one down to practically nothing each year and it takes two years to grow back. The squirrels rotate each year and keep them from blooming. I found some spray that keeps them away. I hope it works. As soon as my yard dries out a bit I have some flowers I want to plant. I don't want to work in mud.

NANCY, Your Monday sounds like mine. What shouldn't have taken that long did and it threw off my day too. It's nice to know I'm not alone. My day went much better today. I hope yours did too.

RACHAEL, Visitors do tend to throw us off a bit, but aren't we glad we have them. It breaks up the week and gives us a much needed break.

JD, I think you are right on target. If we know what is causing our difficult times then we can plan around it. You have the hard part done already-figuring out what is causing the problem. emoticon

emoticon you are a great friend. At the very least I'm sure it helps to lift her spirits and to know you are loved. Your prayers make a difference too. I definitely believe in the power of prayer. Most of us don't take time to buy a card much less make one. That takes thought and love. Your a great person. emoticon

emoticon emoticon You are doing so good. I'm so happy for you. As it pertains to gardening, I think we are all a bit late this year. Mother Nature has not been cooperating.

KATHY, That's a lot of hard work. The home sounds large and beautiful. I can't imagine trying to keep it clean. Sounds like you need a day off.

I bought myself a spearmint plant for the infusion waters. When it gets a bit bigger I'm going to plant it in my yard. I live in my Nana's house. She had it growing in the back yard. I'm going to plant it in the same place that she had it.

JUDY, We all want our temperatures back to normal but what is normal. I live one block from where I grew up and the weather has changed a lot from what it was like when I was a child.

Goodnight everyone. I hope your Hump day is happy and healthy. Sweet dreams. emoticon

What a crazy weather this world is having this year!! Definitely the End Times are very near. Everything has been lining up according to the Bible. We went from the 80's yesterday to 50 last night. Today we did make 71 degrees . We need to be warmer than that. Our normal for today is about 85. Can't wait until we finally catch up!! The warmer the better for us with arthritis throughout.

KATHY - How nice for you to be planting your garden already. We sure do miss our gardens that we had up north - - just can't take the cold from up there! Four floor to a house? That must be one beautiful home. After all the work you did yesterday you deserve a "me" day.

SUSAN - Glad you had a much better weekend.

COOKIE - What a dear friend you are!!!

JD - Great job on planning your food ahead of time. I've tried that but my DH seems to change things on me!

CHAKARA - Prayers for you son and your DH's grandma as well as for yourself. I can just about imagine the stress all this must put on you. HUGS!

Well, I better get off of here. Another site to see as well as giving the "girls" their bath. My DH bathed them last time.

Have a great evening everyone!!

Judy

Kathy - That sounds like a lot of work! My husband and I I dilated the crawl space under our last house. It wasn't as bad as what yours sounds like. We moved from a tri-level to a ranch with a basement and love it.

Cookie - I'm sorry the movie didn't relieve any stress. Maybe a nice bubble bath will help?

Nancy, Susie, thanks. I feel so inadequate, like it is so little. When my brother in law had colon cancer, and my daughter in law had breast cancer I sent them cards all through chemo until they were in remission. I will send my friend cards as long as she needs them.

The movie was not the stress reliever I had hoped. The movie was good...(God is not Dead.) But, part of the substory was a woman who finds she has terminal cancer, so it did not serve as an escape from reality. Still, I guess it was a movie that I needed to see today.

Wow! Busy, busy, busy! Sunday, we went to Turkey Run State Park and hiked the beautiful trails for 2 hours - then stopped at their Inn for lunch which had a salad bar so we were very happy about that.

We have been working on the yard due to branches falling so we're piling wood for next year. I planted several pots of herbs and cascading petunias over the weekend - we carried them all in to the garage this morning before we headed to work, in case we get a cold streak later tonight. But it will be back in the 70's in 2 days so I'm not worried. Then I will plant a few tomatoes.

Yesterday, after work, I crawled under the house - we hate crawl spaces! and helped Jim pull out old insulation as we're having them come spray new in soon. We are selling this house and moving in to the one we own next door which is on 8 acres and a corner - it was Jims parents home and was built for his late aunt in the 30's - it's a beautiful spanish tile roof home with spanish tile floors in 9 of the rooms. We are going to fix it up - live in it long enough for IRS not to tax us heavily when we sell it and then we're going to sell it. We've decided we like one level with a basement and that house is 4 levels and there is no way we can work on that spanish tile roof due to the many levels of it - we'd have to hire someone and Jim does not like doing that because he is very handy and loves repairing all home and car projects. So, after 3 hours of crawling under the house (just me - Jim did it for like 8) and pulling everything out and bagging it - we were soooo exhausted last night.

Today, I did my Leslie 4 mile power walk and right now I'm having my watermelon/cranberry/mint infusion water and feeling good but not interested in doing anything else. When I get off work - I'm making soup and wrapping a blanket around me while watching a movie - Jim says that sounds good - he wants to do nothing when he gets home also. LOL!

I'm very impressed with how Jim finishes any project he starts and he can't put it down until he is done. I lose power after several hours. Imagine my 6'4" man crawling around under a home that has a crawl space of about 2' high Wow! I was shocked once I got down there to help him and realized what he had been doing for 2 days straight. I said, "we are definitely selling cause you aren't doing this anymore - or anything under here, anymore"

Looking forward to the weekend and it's only Tues. LOL!

Cookie - What an awesome thing you do for your friend. Such support is wonderful.

Did well on Saturday and Monday. Sunday was a little off but better than I had been doing. My binging is at a minimum right now and that always makes me feel better about my journey. I put the binge monster down several times yesterday and did not give in. I ate well and had some popcorn for a snack. I even had a sliver of apple pie and managed to stay in calorie range. WooHoo!!!!

It rained during the night and today was suppose to be a wash out but I don't see it happening. It is cloudy right now but it certainly has not been raining all morning. Glad of it as we were suppose to get up to 1-1/2 inches of rain. DH has not been able to do much with the garden due to the weather. This week we are suppose to have two nights with freeze warnings. Maybe after that the freeze issues will be over and he can get into full swing with the garden. He is late this year.

Hope everyone has a good day!!!!

Lots of stressors in my life right now........even dreaming of doing funeral dinners for people not yet passed. It is time for a de stress break. So, today I am going to see a movie, and then make time to construct some cards. I send one card every day to my best friend battling pancreatic cancer. I even take one to the post office on Sunday, though I know it won't move until Monday. Like I told my husband, I say a prayer for her as I make the card, another as I seal it, and yet another as I mail it. Her cancer doesn't take Sunday off, neither will I. Does it make a difference in the progression of her disease? I don't know....but I also do not know that it doesn't.

If this was your last day, how would you spend it?

RW - I hope we get to enjoy Spring before it turns to Summer! I like being able to have ow does open and let in fresh air.

It is snowing outside! Snowing, again!!! This has been the longest winter I can remember. Anyway, I've finally figured out that Tuesday is my most difficult day to stay on track with everything. It is a long day at work, and today I come home to give a horseback riding lesson immediately after work (this is not the usual), before I collapse into a chair :) Tuesday is always a struggle for me, so I've begun to take steps to make it easier. Last night I made vegetable soup in the crockpot and had it in the fridge already to put in the cooker (should be hot and ready to go when I get in from that riding lesson); I got up a bit extra early to get spark coach in before leaving for work. I have leftovers planned to take for lunch, plus yogurt and a sliced apple for snacks. I think planning my food for Tuesday is crucial. Any other tips?

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the number of moments that take our breath away...and, remember "slow and steady wins the race".

Good Morning,
Weather is crazy here too. It's suppose to be in the high 30's. Chance of light snow mixed with rain. Right after 80 degree weather.
I hope when summer comes this year it hangs around a long time like winter has.
Didn't get my steps in yesterday, I had company in from Ohio and I didn't want to ignore her. Hopefully I can make them up today.
Everyone have a nice day!

Judy - Illinois weather has not straightened out! It was beautiful here this weekend. We had the windows open and the furnace off. After I got home from work last night we got more snow. In April!

Chakara - I hope your son qualifies for this help he needs and they you are able to get he compression very. I'll be praying for your husband's grandma. Surgery at that age is scary.

Pam - I had an I heel thy eating day too. Well, I was good all day until supper. We had froze pizza and then I made cookies. I ended up snacking all evening. Today will be better.

I think work threw me off track yesterday. I was busy all day and barely stopped for lunch. I don't know why, the stuff I was working on isn't time sensitive. Today I will stop for lunch and take a walk.

Hi Team,

Well today I spent all day taking care of what I thought was a simple task that should have taken not much time. I worked on it all day. My subconscious must have known why I was procrastinating so much. Well its done and behind me but nothing else was done. I hardly exercised at all and my eating was unhealthy. Tomorrow is another day.

NANCY, Sounds like a great way to spend a day off. I'm so glad your being such a healthy girl. You go girl!

RACHAEL, Sounds like the whole family had a blessed time on Sunday. I have dessert every week when I go to dinner with Mom. As long as we are good the rest of the week we deserve a splurge and it keeps us from binging later on.

SP, Sounds great! Keep up the good work on being healthy.

JUDY, No worry's about Sunday. You did what your supposed to do which is much more important. Sorry about your weather. It goes up and down here but not like that. Hope things get warm again soon.. At least you got your walk in. Prayers going your way regarding the results of your MRI.

CHAKARA, My goodness. I know the only you are getting through this is with the help of the Lord. Stay strong my friends. Your in a safe place and prayers are definitely coming.

Tomorrow I'm getting back on track with both my exercise and my healthy eating. I need to go to the grocery store and get some healthy food. Goodnight all and as usual, sweet dreams.

Pam: I have reached my weight loss goal and lost 103 lbs. I will be forever grateful to my Spark Friends and my Lord who guides me.

Great news, I am hammering away the exercise minutes! emoticon Stress relief!

My son has had 2 of his 3 screenings. The OT yesterday took 3 hours. She said he is borderline and will probably qualify for services through the school if he qualifies in another area. He needs speech services as well. The PT appt. today was not good. He scored as a 24 month old in 2 of the 3 areas and as a 30 month old in the 3rd. He will be 6 in June. She said it has to do with the sensory issues he has. He will definitely be getting PT at some point when the process is over. We are waiting for the behavioral therapist on Wed. So far, they all agree that he may have a genius level IQ and that he needs a medical diagnosis because of the behavioral and sensory issues. So that will be a whole different set of appointments. He needs something called a compression vest which our insurance doesn't cover and we can't afford right now. I am praying God sends provision.
My DHs grandma is having aneurism surgery in the am. she is 84. Prayers are appreciated. We leave for vacation (visiting family) Friday. I think I need some respite.

So sorry I didn't get a chance to post yesterday but I was busy on another site with someone that needed urgent help and response. But, it sounds like everyone's weather is finally straightening out. We went shopping today for just a few items ($114 later). We had just gotten home, in the house, and all of a sudden the winds came up and temps dropped drastically! We went from mid 80's to lower 60s in a matter of about 5 minutes!!! Crazy weather!! We did end up walking the "girls" anyway after we changed from shorts to long pants!!! I really think SP needs to get something in the Fitness category for walking against high winds!!! That should account for extra burned calories!! Sounds good to me!! Had my MRI on my neck today, finally!! Headaches still continue. It will be interesting to see how much the arthritis etc has changed in the last 7 years and if there is anything they can do to relieve the pressures and pains.

SHELTER_PETS - Great job on increasing your exercise!!

RWHUDDLE - So nice you and the girls could enjoy a nice dinner with your aunt. Good job on splitting the cake also!! Good choices!! Keep up the good work!

PAM - Boy, you're really doing good on getting to bed earlier. NOW, if only I could do the same!! We did have a good time and lots of laughs at dinner out with friends. It's a shame that you have to go to the Home and find J like that. It sounds to me like the Home needs to have an unannounced visit from higher up for patient neglect!!

COOKIE - Welcome back!!

NANCY - I really think you deserve to take a day off. You've been working so hard!!

CHAKARA - So happy your even went so well. Then again, when God is in it, how could it end up being anything but good!!

Looks like the winds are finally slowing down!! Dancing with the Stars is half over so I think maybe I need to sit down and enjoy the dancing for a while and "try" to get to bed at a decent time for a change. Have a great night everyone!!

Judy

RW - Way to go on the healthy choices yesterday!

Shelter_Pets - great job on the exercise!

I feel pretty good today. I got up and did 45 minutes cardio and about 10 minutes strength today. I have Healy food packed for today too. It's going to be a great day!

Good morning,
I had a very nice day yesterday. After church the girls and I had dinner with my Aunt from Ohio. We went to the Gondolier and I made a healthy choice and ate off the biggest loser menu. However we did get a slice of cake and split it between the four of us, with a slice left.
My husband and son went four wheeling so they missed out lol
They are calling for snow Wednesday , after the 80 degree weather, I am not looking forward to that at all.

If anyone is interested I have a children's book called "Whiskers Searches For The True Meaning of Easter" free on kindle today through Thursday

I hope everyone has a blessed day, today is laundry and cleaning house day for me.

Pam - I always count the exercise I get when we work on the house. It usually gives me well over two hours of hard exercise! It felt good to relax yesterday. We slept on and then took a good two hour nap and I still slept I well last night!

Hi team,

I got a lot done today. I got almost everything on my list done. For some there is one thing on my list that I'm avoiding and I have no idea why. It's not hard, it won't take long. I'm just avoiding it. Oh well I'll try again tomorrow.

emoticon Glad things are so nice. I lived in VA for a short time and what I remember most is the 4 distinct seasons. Spring and Fall were my favorites. I hope you get to ride that bike today.

NANCY, Did you count all the exercise you got in yesterday? You deserve a day off after the last few days.

emoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticon We missed you while you were gone. I can't wait for you to catch up!

Well I'm getting into bed before midnight again. emoticon And I did my third day of exercise. Only 27 more days left to skinnier jeans. Goodnight and sweet dreams.

Pam: I have reached my weight loss goal and lost 103 lbs. I will be forever grateful to my Spark Friends and my Lord who guides me.

Pam - Sorry to hear that Jeannine isn't getting the care she should. I'm glad you are there to check on her and stand up for her. You're right, yesterday was exhausting. I spend at least 30 minutes raking leaves our from under hedges. We were there for an hour and a half, we finally gave up because it was windy and looking like rain. I don't know rust I really like that kind of work, but I don't really mind doing it either. It needs done so I do it.

Susan - Enjoy your sunny day.

We're relaxing today. I think I heard thunder in the distance. Sounds like a good day to spend relaxing and maybe napping.

Another beautiful day here in central Virginia. The sun is shining and it is going to warm up nicely. Can't wait to try the bike. Didn't get to it yesterday because DH didn't adjust my seat yet. he was busy getting garden stuff ready.

Need to run to the store for some prescriptions and a few grocery items. Ugh!!!

really need to get out today to be in the sun. Some days the desire is very strong and today is one of those day. It is like a plant growing and bending towards the sun. That's what I feel like. emoticon

Have a good day everyone!!

Hi all,

Well today was a great day. The weather was beautiful and bright. I got to see my cousin and my uncle today. My cousin has a rough life. He bought some property in Mexico. They (he and his wife) live in a large trailer. When the weather is nice in Mexico he lives there. During the winter when it's very hot he travels elsewhere. Such a life. Not a worry in the world with the exception of my Uncle. He is 83 and declining fast. We all went to dinner today and he forgets what he is talking about during the conversation. He remembers people which is great. He has always been one of my favorite people and he gives the best hugs. We all went to dinner, which was fun. After dinner, I dropped mom off and went to see J and bring her some clothes. I took one look at her and asked her when she had last showered. She told me that they shower her on Mondays. Now she is supposed to have a shower twice a week. I went to the nursing station and raised Cain. They told me she had one Friday. My cousin did not have shower yesterday! You can look at her and tell that. They checked their records and sure enough she hadn't. Needless to say she's having one tonight!! I wonder about people in homes that don't have anyone to look after their care. It saddens me.

After I returned home I worked out for 76 minutes of cardio dance and burned about 600 calories. When I stopped I was wet as can be. It felt good. My legs are so sore from yesterday's workout on 30 days to skinnier jeans. I did it last year and it worked really well. I figured it was time to do it again. I think I'm on a roll! emoticon

CHAKARA, So happy things went well. Your probably right about you MIL. I know I wouldn't either.

emoticon Oh my goodness $60. Perms cost a lot more here. Then again everything costs more in California Bay Area. You better not have to pay again! If it were me and she wanted to charge me, I would raise such a stink in the salon and start telling everyone that entered the salon what happened and don't let her touch your hair. I'm stubborn that way. I hope everything turns out in your favor.

NANCY, Sounds like you had an exhausting day. Plans for today sound exhausting too, bit I think you like that stuff. Have a great one. emoticon

JUDY, Once in 2 years isn't bad. I'm sure you had a lovely time.

RACHAEL, It sounds like fun. I love girl talk. Yes it was nice and warm here too.

That's it for me. Maybe I will make it to bed before Midnight. Goodnight and sweet dreams.

Thank you for for condolences for mum BIL's mom. I didn't know her well, but I feel bad for my BIL.

Judy - Overeating at buffets is easy to do. As long as it's an occasional treat it's ok.

RW - Your day sounds nice.

Chakra - I'm glad it was a success!

Today's event was a success. There were far less women in attendance than in years past, but I think it is because it is the nicest day we have had since last fall. All in all it was still very nice. Our songs all went well and people seemed to get a lot out of the devotional talk.

Nancy- sorry to that your BIL is going through this time of grief.

Susan- I always tip a bad haircut and my husband get aggravated at me. I tell him that I don't always know how bad it looks when I walk out the door with all the product that they put in my hair.

Judy- I love it when we get time to visit with our friends like that.

Pam- I will keep that in mind the next time my MIL has my 5 year old. He wears me out, I can't imagine how tired he makes her! lol I know she wouldn't have it any other way.

Hi everyone!
I had a nice relaxing day, it was 81 here today. I love it!!
Cleaned a little, and sat outside with a friend and had girl talk.
Got in my steps too.
Tomorrow is no internet day, so I will check back with everyone on Monday.

Kathy I am loving these water infusions. I have not drank any diet pop in 2 days. I hope I can keep it up. I even just filled my glass up with frozen blueberries and ice, then poured water over it. I did the cucumber and lemon today!

Judy I seen a neat quote on Pinterest "one bad meal doesn't make you unhealthy, just like one salad doesn't make you healthy" 😊

Nancy sorry for your loss, prayers for your family.

Chakara hope you had a great day!

Pam glad you enjoyed your grandkids. Hope your having a pretty day!

Susan your making me want to get my bike out and ride it!

Everyone enjoy the rest of the weekend! Remember we have no internet day on Sunday, so I will be back Monday! 😊

OK.. I confess!!! Three of us couples went to Furrr's Restaurant (buffet) for breakfast as one of the couples was leaving on Tuesday for up north. I think it's safe to say that we haven't gone to this restaurant but once in the last two years. I overdid and had too many calories. Protein lunch for today

NANCY - So sory to hear about your BIL's death. Hugs and prayers to ya'll.

SUSAN - Hope your smaller bike works out better for you!!

CHAKARA - Enjoy! Prayers sent your way!

PAM - As we say here in the RGV - it's nice to see them come but it's nice to see them go. The older we get, we realize it was easier to deal with young ones when we were younger ourselves. We say that when it's time for the winter Texans' to come down and go back too.

Have a great day!

Susan - Good luck with the bike, I hope this one works out for you. I hope you're able to get the perm fixed.

Judy - Congrats on the smaller shorts! I hope you're not too sore.

Pam - Your day yesterday sounded fun. Enjoy those grand babies!

Chakara - I hope your event is a huge success!

We went to a visitation for my husband's BIL's mom last night. Then we took his mom to dinner and took her home. She just got out of the hospital Thursday from her stroke and his sister asked us to stay until she got home. They had to stay until the end of the visitation and then went to dinner. They didn't get back until 10 and we live 45 minutes away. My husband and I had been up since 2:00 and 3:00 am so we were really tired. Today we are going to straighten up the garage and do yard work on the house we're selling. It's supposed to be beautiful today.

Whew!!! Saturday! WooHoo!!!!!!! Made it. So much to do today. Laundry, picking up stuff that accumulates around the computer desk and possibly a run to the store. Forgot some stuff on my regular shopping day.

Had a perm done Thursday and I am disappointed to find a large flat spot on the side of my head. No perm there. It looks like she missed putting the solution on that whole area. Now I have to make a trip back to the stylist and see if she can fix it. Better not cost me anything. the perm was $60. She was quite distracted this time around. Paying attention to everything that was going on in the salon. Grrrrrrr! I gave her a big tip too!!!!!!

Hopefully I can try out my smaller bike today. DH needs to adjust the seat and then I can give it a whirl. The smaller bike shouldn't intimidate me as much.

Have a good day everyone! Keep on sparking!

Hi Team,

Well my little angels are back home now. I was exhausted when Mommy showed up. I had so much fun but was very ready for mommy to pick them up. James is 4 and quite the handful. He is at that age where he is testing all his limits and exerting his independence. Is it my imagination or is it every couple of years that children start testing there limits in some new way? I remember Samuel doing this last year. He's just come out of it as James is going into it. It could be worse, they could be twins and going through it at the same time. I remember when my girls were young. They were only 16 months apart. My GS's are 18 months. I went through two years of every stage. Now it's her turn. I'm tired but I can't wait to do it again.

Friday is always my favorite day as I get to go to dinner with Mom. We had crazy chocolatey, gooey, rich dessert with both hot chocolate and caramel sauce. I have to stay on task this week. My pants are getting tight and I refuse to put on bigger ones. I've started spark's 30 days to skinnier jeans. I did it last year it worked really well and that's when I made it to goal. I started it again today.

RACHAEL, It was cloudy here today. I hope it was better where you are.

KATHY, Just checked out those infusion waters you have on your Pinterest sight. Some of them sound really good. I'm going to try some.

JUDY, your so lucky to have such a helpful husband. My DH is also like that and it always makes me feel so special. I'm sure you feel special too.

DIANE, My GS's go home and your's gets there. I loved having them, but now I need to rest. I'm sure you will have a fantastic time.

NANCY, Enjoy your me time.

emoticon I can just see you on that bike ride. It reminds me of a similar time when I was in Fiji and my DH and I rented some motor bikes. I panicked and ended up in a ditch. I also could stop laughing. It does seem silly when we fail at trying to do something we used to do. You go girl, happy biking.
Have you considered joining some sort of group? I have considered volunteering somewhere just to meet some people and make some friends. I have decided now is not the time with all the responsibility I have with J and Mom. I do plan on doing it when my life is calmer.

It's after midnight and time for bed. Goodnight and sweet dreams.

Pam: I have reached my weight loss goal and lost 103 lbs. I will be forever grateful to my Spark Friends and my Lord who guides me.

Hi ya'll. Had a really busy day today. Some light housecleaning and laundry, shopping, shopping. and more shopping. Bought some shorts etc for myself as well as DH. The shorts I wore last summer were kind of baggy. Gee that's too bad - had to buy me some smaller ones - - SIZE 14!!!!!!!! emoticon . I think maybe I overdid it however, with trying on clothes, dusting furniture etc - - started having pains in my abdomen where they attached the large mesh etc. When we went to Walmart, however, my DH took over pushing the grocery cart. I am so very fortunate to have a DH who helps clean house, do laundry, cook, do dishes etc.

KATHY - You keep talking about infusion drinks, I think I'll have to look them up.

SUSAN - I know just how you feel. My mom's been gone since March 2006 and I still have times when I think "I need to call mom and tell her such and such" and then I come back to reality. It's really a shame because we never use to get along until about the last two years of her life. I miss her and my dad daily.

RWHUDDLE - It is sad to see how they live. On the hot summer days and no air or fan; on the cold winter nights - no heat. People just don't realize how fortunate we really are!! Christmas is the big time for help here. We have the 12 Days of Christmas where 12 families are chosen each year where each one has an article written up about them in the paper - their needs, their health, etc. Our church does a lot for them - not just food Y clothes but enlarging homes, lots of repairs of homes etc. all donated time, material and labor.

DIANE - Enjoy your time with your grandson - they grow up so fast!!

Well, I have lots to do yet before I get to lay my head on my pillow and read a good book. So, hope everyone has a great weekend.

Judy F

RW, the water infusions question: I drink 2 of the mason jars a day - one will be the fruit one, the other will be the cucumber/lemon - now and then, I'll have a watermelon/mint one. I love the smell of the mint in all the drinks and the taste. Last night while watching tv, I had the fruit one - it had a combo of blueberries, peach, pineapple, mint, strawberry, cranberries, kiwi, and a couple pieces of dried banana (I was curious and it worked!) When I got to 1/4 of the jar left, I filled it with water and stuck it back in the fridge for my next morning weight training workout and it was just as fresh and fabulous - so I'm able to make the fruit last through a few jars - I then puree the fruit and put it either in a smoothie or my oatmeal or yogurt. I buy bags of frozen fruit from Sams and they last me more than a month. These are so worth it to me because of health reasons and I'm not drinking soda.

The cucumber one is of course, the cheapest to make and it is wonderful. I drink it all summer long. I grow mint in pots on my deck so I use it for everything. I love spearmint. I could inhale it all the time.

I bought a mixed bag of frozen fruit from Sams and put a serving spoon full in the container - it is much better after you let it infuse for several hours and get icey cold but now I'm carrying them around everywhere and I did the fruit in ice cube trays to add to this drink to keep it cold when I'm half way through it.

You will have fun experimenting with this and I would love to see what you all come up with

I've finished weight lifting - now I'm heading outside for a glorious walk. Enjoy your weekend everyone!

Good morning teamies!!!!

The bike saga continues. I tried to ride again yesterday but decided the bike was just too big for me. I called Walmart to see if they had a 24" bike and they did so we took my bike and exchanged it for the smaller one. I had to get a different color, but that's not important. I got a teal one instead of magenta. Boo-hoo!! Now maybe I'll have more success with trying to ride it. It is considerably smaller than the other one. Now I won't have so far to fall!!! LOL!!!!

Eating is still an issue for me. Lately I have been ravenous. Just eating everything in sight. Don't know why but I can't seem to get enough. I just want more food on top of more food, especially protein. I am pretty much bored. I wish i had someone to talk to. A person to connect with every day or so. That's what i miss most about my mom. I enjoyed talking to her.

The weather has been beautiful. Nice and warm. We have been running the A/C at night. We both like it cool when we sleep. A/C on, snuggled with the dog and bundled up in the blankets. Ahhhhh, just right!!!!!!

Well, hope everyone is doing well today. Keep sparking!!!!

I hate snakes of any kind, glad God was watching over you all. Have fun with your grandson.

Judy, that is so sad about those people. Do they ever get any help?
I have thought about them ever since I read your post.

It is suppose to be pretty today😊 hoping to get outside and enjoying it once I get the house cleaned.

Have a great day!

Hi All,

No Ladies, I work different muscle group twice a week. On Tuesday, I work upper body muscles and on Thursday, I work lower body muscles. I do not think that is too bad.

Yesterday a group of my church brothers and sisters did spring cleaning at the church. We started at 9 am and ended at 4 pm. The ladies worked on the inside of the church. The men worked 9 on the outside cutting down overgrown azalea bushes. One of the men almost got bitten by a rattle snake. My husband had just come from the same bush, but thank God for His angel of protection. The snake was killed and thank God nobody got hurt. The men from that point on were very cautious while cleaning around the remainder of the trees..

We had Bible Study tonight and the church looked and smelled good, the yard looked good. We are sooo tired and sore on top of that, but God is still good,

Tomorrow my husband and I will be picking up our grandson who will be staying with us for a few days. I am sure he will keep me busy.

That'sabout all that has happened with me this week.

I am having trouble with my laptop and I cannot get my data tracked from my SparkPeople tracker and that is kind of frustrating,. I am going to call our service provider for our internet and see if they can help get me started again because the laptop is not picking up the internet. Tonight I am washing clothes to get ready for tomorrow's pickup of the grandson.

If you do not hear from me for a few days that at is why. I am very sure that I will be busy with him.

Will try to get some time in to talk with you if possible. So heres hoping that you have a good weekend. Take care.

You may have to fight a battle more than once to win it, but God wins it every time. This battle is not ours it's the Lord's.

Every day do something that will inch you closer to a better tomorrow.

Negative thoughts are the weak link. A shift in your awareness and thinking positive will change your day.

It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop.

Well, had to install a patch in my "Windows" this evening after supper. Darn those ads anyway!!! It was in the 80's again today but windy. Our little "girls" are quite a handful on days like this. They are only 2 so a lot off life in them and they take it to the nth degree with leaves, flower petals and anything else that might roll by them. My DH controls both "girls" on days like this (and we have a lot of these days coming for the next 4-5 days) so I don't take the chance of falling over and reinjuring the surgery site. He really does spoil me and I love it!!

RWHUDDLE - Glad your determination to get outdoors for a walk won over the wanting to stay in and sleep. Congrats to your son on winning the 2nd place reward!! emoticon emoticon . We moved here almost 10 years ago from N. Dakota so it was a big change but we love it. A lot of the people down here don't have roofs on their homes, no indoor plumbing, no electricity which means no air conditioning and no heat in the winter. If we ever start feeling sorry for ourselves, all we have to do is go to some of the colonies and see how they live and if that doesn't work, we can go over to Mexico and then you know what poor really is!!! It's nothing to see 10-15 people living in a shack that might be 8 feet by 10 feet with holes in the walls They must sleep standing up or sitting with 1-2 younger kids on their laps. It's a real eye opener. We do have wealthier areas here in the RGV also.

PAM - Enjoy those boys!! If they didn't get worn out from all the playing, bike riding etc, does that mean that you're the one who got worn out from all of it??

KATHY - Your infusion sounds yummy!!

SUSAN - I have to hand it to you on giving bike riding a try. I did that about 5 years ago - I didn't fall but my butt was numb and my legs were like rubber when I did stop!!

CHAKARA - Good uck on your speaking event. Just let the Spirit work through you. Hope your little one gets some relief with his allergies. Im convinced the Ads on SP does a real number on my computer. Hackers/viruses come through those types of things. With me working on two different SP sites. I have been getting hit double barrel!!

Well, it's about time for bed so I'll get off of here and get ready.

Hello,
Hope everyone had a great day. I had to make myself go outside to get in my walk. It was pretty out but I am so tired. Too tired to be awake and too tired to sleep lol
I can't wait till I get to sleep in Saturday.

Chakara, they are called protein balls, you can add different things like nuts or raisins.😊

Kathy , Those water infusions sound really great! How many do you drink a day? Are the expensive to make?

Susan, I got a bike last year and I have a lot of strengthening in my legs to do, so I can ride longer. We can only get better😊

Pam , enjoy those grand babies! 👬

So happy tomorrow is Friday even if it is laundry day lol

Everyone have a great day tomorrow!

Hi team,

Just a quick note. I have my grandsons a couple of days (last night and tonight) so I won't be online much. They are 4&5 and very active. I can't take my eyes off of them. Boys will be boys. emoticon We took a long walk to the park. They were on bikes and I walked. I got 50 minutes of walking. Then they played at the park for an hour and the long walk back. I thought I would wear them out. Such was not the case. They are going strong. By the time they go home I will need a vacation. emoticon

There dad had surgery today. He's fine but needs a day of rest without the boys. He had a torn meniscus. He's going to be laid up for awhile. I feel sorry for my daughter.

Pam: I have reached my weight loss goal and lost 103 lbs. I will be forever grateful to my Spark Friends and my Lord who guides me.

Morning everyone! emoticon I went to Sams this morning and stocked up on fruit and veggies. I lay everything out on counter - pulled out several empty mason jars and started creating "Water Infusions" I made a variety - my fridge looks bright and colorful and I can't wait till they are super cold - I'm going to drink, drink, drink! If you all remember, several months ago, I talked about how I made a mint, cucumber, lemon drink? I made more of that cause I love it! It is refreshing and kills sugar cravings. I also made a strawberry, mint, cranberry, pineapple, peach, blueberry infusion. I made a watermelon and mint infusion and I'm still creating. Next will be kiwi, blueberry, strawberry,...... The skies the limit! If you want to learn more about water infusions and creative ideas - just head over to Pinterest - type in water infusions or go to my page: www.pinterest.com/kathy47802/

one of the pins I have shows where they made Popsicle molds by pouring the fruit in mold and then filling with coconut water! I thought, I'll do this with ice cube trays and plop the ice cubes in my water drinks! Love this idea as it will add coconut flavor to my water! www.pinterest.com/kathy47802/

Now, I must go power walk!

SWell, yesterday was exciting. Dh put togehter our new bikes. Mine is a little big for me but I tried. I put on my helmet, tucked my pants legs into my socks and hit the front yard. well, I couldn't get both feet on the pedals. I tried and tired until i was short of breath. I didn't give up and got both feet on and was pedaling good. So good that I couldn't stear and I headed out of the driveway into the raod. I barely missed a culvert but panicked when I thought my back wheel was going to hit the culvert. I got about 20' into the road and then it happened. I fell off the bike and landed in a heap in the middle of the road. Luckily I wasn't hurt and was laughing hysterically. I was laughing, I couldn't breath and DH came riding up to me to check on me. I sat there for a few minutes and finally after a few attmepts got myself upright and called it a day!!! DH went on down the road, but didn't get far. He was out of breath when he got back to the house and was puffing. I'm not giving up. Today it is going to be nice so i will try riding again this time on the lawn. A little forgiving if I fall again, not if, but when. LOL!!!! I am not as sore as I thought I would be. I had this gran notion that I would be off and riding 3 miles my first time out. Was I delusional????? emoticon

Things are going well. I am back on my eating plan which is great. My little guy is having a terrible time with his allergies. He is coughing his little head off. =( I am in the throws of working out the details of what I am going to say on Saturday. I am the speaker at a women's event. The theme is seeds of kindness. I am feeling led to talk about how we should treat others, how we should try to view others how God sees them and not through our own filters. I think I may spend some time talking about how we view ourselves as women and how that influences the way we view/treat others. We will see. Have a great Thursday.

Rachel - those peanut butter treats sound good. I may have to look for those on pintrest.

Judy - Computer problems are the worst. I am convinced that the ads on Spark do a number on mine. emoticon

Patty - hang in there!

Susan- what a fun place to live. We have visited that area because my hubby is a history buff.

Pam - I am so glad to see you getting back into your groove.

Diane- 35 minutes of ST is great! Keep it up!

Kathy- we have a lot of Cardinals here too. My son loves them because of their color. This time of year we see blue jays as well.

Hello,
It has been a in the car too much kinda day lol
I managed to barely get my steps in today,
I had to go to town, my son won second place in a poster contest titled "where do we get our food?" Farm bureau was the ones who does it. My daughter won the same thing 6 yrs ago
Then I had to get groceries because I did not want to go back to town tomorrow.
My husband met me over there with the girls and let's say our family dinner was bad lol Dairy Queen, enough said .
So tomorrow it is suppose to be pretty until , next week. Then it is suppose to be dogwood winter or redbud or something like that lol

Judy, where you live sounds so nice. I can't wait till summer here and have it be that warm.

Susan, sounds beautiful where you live.

Diane are you working the same muscles everyday? I was told to not work the same muscle group everyday.

JD I love string cheese as a snack, but I also like those 100 cal already packaged snacks.

If any of you like sweets too much like me, have you seen where you take peanutbutter , oats, honey and just a few choc. chips. You mix it all up and roll them in balls and refrigerate.
They are good and not too bad for you. Better than a candy bar or snack cake. My kids like them too. I saw it on Pinterest . Pinterest has a lot of neat things.

Hope you all have a great day! 😊💐🌺🌸🌷

Hello everybody. Sorry I've been AWOL, but believe me I'd rather have been here with all of you! My past 5-7 days have been a week from #$*% and it wasn't from Heaven; however, you never know - maybe God sent it down to me!!! I have been fighting hackers and more hackers the entire time. I think, or at least pray that they are all gone now. Today has been pretty good without them!! We think I have all the "doors" closed now and all the "rooms " cleaned out!!"

To give you a little idea of what it's been like, I had a tech going through my computer and they had undone my SPAT. I had installed, uninstalled, and installed again and again and couldn't get it working. Well, to make a long story short, while my new computer was being dehacked sort of speak I was using my old computer - the one that needs a new part where the charger plugs into - and I had to hold the charger just so, so that the connection would be charging - - what a fight that was!! Well, while I was trying to get my SPAT going and failing at it I had gotten this message that said my SPAT was already installed in my computer. (Red face) I had put my bongle in my old computer so I could get my tracking done - - I forgot to put it back into my new computer and I had been trying to use my wireless bongle for my SPAT instead!! (red faced again!). Anyway, it's all taken care of now so here I am!!

CHAKARA - Glad things are going well for you now.

KATHY - Enjoy your beautiful days. Hopefully it's actually going to stay nice!! We are all tired of winter!!

SUSAN - Your place sounds like a taste of Heaven - one I would have liked to spend these past several days myself!!

PAM - Nice to see you happy!! Let's not be overdoing the exercising so quickly. Hope you're doing your stretching. AND, why would they put someone in a room with someone else who only speaks Russian!! What were they thinking!! I'm glad you got that place straightened out!!!

RWHUDDLE - I'm living in the RGV and we've been having beautiful 80-90 degree weather. Love it!!! Makes those arthritis sisters feel better too!

DIANE - Let's not work those muscles too much - OUCH!!

JD - Glad to hear you are making progress. Apple slices and love fat peanut butter or cheese and nuts are great snacks for traveling. When we travel I have my snacks all ready counted out and placed in snack baggies or small throw-a-way containers such as the ones you get with some of the Dole Fruit Crisps that have covers.

NANCY - Hope you're feeling better by now.

Hope ya'll are doing well !!!! I think I'm going to call it a night and hit the sack!!

My last 6 weeks have been a mess with mom and daughter both being sick. I do't even remember that I forgot stuff already.

Weight lifting done!

Pam, You have an interesting question regarding the birds pooping everywhere. We haven't had that problem in all the years we've been here. I'm wondering if it has to do with what type of bird it is that presents that problem. Like, I know downtown, the blackbirds and pigeons are horrible about that.

Susan, Your place sounds relaxing! Have you had any bat sightings? We have a pair of bats that come back every year and we put up a bat house but they don't go there. Jim says somewhere on our property out past the creek and pond is a cave along the walls of the creek and he believes they go there. ISU came out a few years ago to watch the bats and study them. Hummingbirds galore on our property - we laugh at those flying little insects - so territorial. You can have 6 feeders spread out all over and one will try and claim them all. Little bully. LOL! Our main birds are cardinals and finches. We do have 2 woodpeckers that appear every day but not for long and then we have a pair of owls - which we love to listen to at night. When they do their mating call - it's hilarious - we look at each other on the deck when we hear the male owl calling out and we say, "uh oh!" with big smiles and laughter. We have bird baths every where and I always have a huge garden. So, the birds and butterflies love us. We also have a huge swarm of dragonflies show up one day a year, they come flying up the hill from the pond, eating all the mosquitoes. Then they disappear and for the rest of the year, about 20 will stay and continue eating. We love these! My guess is they just hatched and that's why we see a cloud of them for one day.

We have a bird that comes out every year and sings to let us know it is mushroom time but we don't know what it is. We do love to hear it though.

Enjoy your day everyone! I'm heading out in the gorgeous 60 degree temps and going walking!

KATHY - I love the birds too and feed them. I feed them all year and I know I'm not suppose to but during the summer I used to get the greatest variety. Now it seems they are not as plentiful as in previous years. I do have a couple of pairs of bluebirds and they come to my birdbath. I have many cardinals and one family sits in one of my boxwoods and chirps all day and into the evening. I now can tell exactly what a cardinal sounds like. In years past I had tons of Yellow Finches but this year they are nowhere to be found. I do put out thistle seed but other little birds eat it. We even had a Pileated Woodpecker in our woods one year. That sucker was huge!!!!! Only saw him the one time. Guess he moved on. I would like DH to guild some owl houses. I miss owls. When I first moved here I had several owls in the woods but as the neighborhood has grown they too have moved away.

I live on 11 acres of land and most of it is in trees. There is a large area where we bush hog so they power lines are easily accessible. We have deer and a large family of turkeys each year. the deer come and go all year. The turkeys start showing the babies in July and they stay until the fall. The fawns come out in mid June and they stay all year. Sometimes they are out more often than others. I love to see them out and about. Jumping and playing around the mom. I have some footage on my video camera of two babies and a mom in our field. It is wonderful to watch. The baby was so excited and kicking his heels up. Cute. I love living in the country.

As far as where I live. I live in Appomattox, Virginia. The home to the end of the Civil War. I live 6 miles from the National historic Park where the surrender was signed at the McClain house in the Appomattox Courthouse. The area is about south central Virginia. Most people know Richmond and I live 86 miles west of there. This week is the 149th anniversary of the signing of the surrender. Lots of reinactments going on this weekend.

I am doing well with my one positive change a day. Today my positive was to get up earlier and I did. I also got in 12 minutes of exercise first thing. So two positives today!! WooHoo!!!

Have a good day everyone!!!

Bedtime for me. I'm so sore from my hour of exercise. I'm definitely out of shape. Not good, but I'm glad I did it. Now I just have to keep doing it so I'm not so sore. I'm still happy.

Rachael, Glad you got your steps in today. Yeh for Rachael!!

Goodnight and sweet dreams. emoticon

Hello Everybody🙋
It was kinda cool here today, but this weekend is suppose to be beautiful.
I have to go to town tomorrow.
I walked and got my steps in today , so I am happy with that.

Kathy, I love to watch birds. It is kinda hard since I have cats though lol
I do try to keep my humming bird feeder full in the summer. I was walking at the church and saw a woodpecker the other day. He was also there again today.

Pam glad you had a gorgeous day, and got your workout in.

Everybody, I hope you have a terrific Thursday!

BTW where is everyone from? I live in TN in the mountains. Town is 30 mins away.

emoticon Team!!

Today is absolutely gorgeous day. Sun is shining bright and it's not to hot and not to cold. It's just right. I went to Moms and checked on the solar work being done there. Then I went to visit J in the hospital. She's worse this time than last time. I went in a raised hell. She was admitted Friday. I complained about the fact that there was no TV. I also requested a room change because her roommates spoke only Russian and she couldn't communicate with them. Also the room was extremely hot. I couldn't breath it was so hot. Here it is TUESDAY and nothing had been done. Also her wheel chair is too small and she doesn't have a phone. These poor people get put in homes and if they don't have family to see to their needs. Nothing is done. I got home and worked out for 61 minutes. I'm so proud of myself.

NANCY, Hopefully you didn't catch what your boss has.

JD, when I travel I bring lots of healthy snacks and I bring my exercise bands because they are very easy to pack. If I'm driving I take my weights also. When eating out I'm very careful what I choose to eat. I know your tired after a day full of meetings your wore out but Spark has lots of 10 minute workouts.

emoticon So glad your tooth wasn't as much trouble as expected. You will do better tomorrow. Just take it one day at a time.

KATHY, Don't all the birds poop all over the place. My Aunt used to feed all the birds and it caused a real problem. Personally I like the birds around. They usually make a nest on my front porch and for the few months they are here I really don't mind the mess.

DIANE, I think 35 minutes of strength training is a lot. How much time to you want to spend?

I think that's it for today. I'm in such a great mood today. Do you think it's because I've worked out two days in a row? Talk to you later. . . emoticon

I did 35 minutes of strength training today. I have to do better. I am still moving. Hopefully the weather will be better on tomorrow. I tend to do much better with my routines when I see the emoticon shining vs a emoticon day.

Hope you all are doing well.

We feed the cardinals every day - throughout the day and we noticed the finch were eating the seeds yesterday which really surprised us - we usually put out finch seed but hadn't bought any yet and they are eating the sunflower seeds! Jim says there must be some tiny seeds in this mixture. So pretty - fun to watch

I did a 4 mile walk early this morning. I'm getting ready to do another 5 miles because I just don't feel like doing any of my other workout routines today - I must be "itching" to get outside and go go go.

Enjoy your day!

Pam - glad you got your stuff fixed. I know when I call tech service I can spend hours talking to them to fix my problem.

Went to the dentist to get my tooth looked at. It was a simple fix. the dentist did a small filling and then smoothed out the sharp spots. I opted for no novocaine as it wasn't removing the old filling, just adding a little. He did make several grooves in the old filling so the new filling would attach better. That was a little tender but certainly tolerable. They have a device they put up against the filling that cures it and by the time you leave the filling is hardened and you can eat anything right away. Glad it's over. Technology is great.

My one positive change for yesterday was to exercise again for 5 minutes and I did that. I did not do well with eating...Chinese food...buffet!!! I think today I will aim for the 5 minutes of exercise and to eat 2 proper meals. Compulsive eating is just a problem for me.

Well, enough of my fussing. Hope everyone is doing well. Have a good day. Take a peek outside and look at the daffodils popping their heads out of the ground!!!!

Travel is hard. My husband travels for his job and is often gone four nights a week. If you're driving you can take a cooler with healthy snacks and water. You could also keep these in your hotel if it has a fridge. For meals, if you have internet access you can often look up the calorie count before you go to eat. Good luck.

This is another very, very busy week, with out of town travel, again, at the end of the week. Travel is the hardest time for me to eat well and to exercise. Any tips/ideas are welcome. Anyway, I did better last week than I have in the past, so I am making progress. And I do need to figure out how to travel and still eat healthy and exercise, because it is such a part of my life (when we travel it is almost always for meetings or to help family, so my time is not my own).

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the number of moments that take our breath away...and, remember "slow and steady wins the race".

Kathy - Things here are finally starting to turn green too. Spring is definitely here!

Pam - I'm glad the tech was able to get everything working for you. I find it very frustrating when things don't work right.

I woke up this morning with a scratchy throat and sniffles. I hope I'm not getting sick. My boss had a cough that she thought was allergies it it wasn't. She's been sick for over a week.

Hello Team,

Today has been one small problem after another. The phone has not been working since we got the new system. It's not there fault, it's something to do with the wiring in my house. Having a tech coming out. I decided to hook up my printer to the network. Tried twice. Didn't work. Called the manufacturer, missed a step. Tried again and again and again. Called manufacturer. Walked me through it. All steps were correct. Called carrier. Started to troubleshoot when the tech showed up. He said he'd take care of it. He did great and fixed the phone also. It did take forever. By the time he was done it was so late that I didn't want to do my workout. I forced myself to start. I did 41 minutes. emoticon Ate pretty good today. Didn't get all the stuff done I wanted but all in all the day was ok.

RACHAEL, Sounds like you had a great time with your family. Good for you.

emoticon Great job today. We both need to take it one day at a time. One day becomes two and two into 3. Pretty soon we have both set new pattern.

NANCY, Praise The Lord. I'm so happy she's doing so much better. emoticon On getting the housing project behind you.

Time for all good little girls to be in bed. Sleep well all of you. Sweet Dreams.

Weight lifting today - it rained all day but I'm not upset about that because everything is green and the rain will bring on the mushrooms! I am craving avocados - I must go find some!

Enjoy your day!

Thank you all for the prayers and kind words. The prayers are working. We went to the hospital yesterday and she looks great! She was sitting up In a chair and had just walked for a bit. The occupational therapist said she has improved. As soon as they have an open bed she will be moved out of ICU.

Diane - It really did bring back those unhappy memories. So glad it's going to be a different outcome this time. Your Saturday sounds wonderful! I love working outside when it's nice out.

Susan - I'm sorry you woke up grumpy on Saturday. I hate it when that happens. Did your mood improve? I like your idea of making one positive change each day. Keep at it until it become a habit.

Judy - Taking the ski off the chicken is a food idea. I'm not sure I can eat just one piece of pizza either.

Chakara - I bet you were sick of smelling chocolate after all that work!

Kathy - Your walk in the park sounds wonderful!

Rachel - I like your idea of no technology on Sunday.

Laura - Kudos for walking when it was windy out. That can be hard work.

Pam - I'm sorry your husband wasn't feeling well. Is he doing better today?

We finally finished working on our daughter's house! We met with the realtor Saturday and signed all the papers. She is going to have pictures taken this week and it will be on the market!

Pam- ditto on the journey issues. I have been struggling. No exercise, eating too much (of everything, good and bad).

My back to basics yesterday went well. I managed to do my 5 minutes of exercise. I was within my calories even though a couple of choices were less than stellar. I did not go overboard. Today my back to basics is to exercise for a minimum of 5 minutes and to get 10 if possible. I've already done 5 so 5 more to go at some point.

I have to go to the dentist today for my broken tooth.

A rainy day. Ugh, A supersoaker they say. emoticon Stay dry everyone!!!!
