Pam- That was really great of you to make the necklace more masculine for him. It sounds really nice. Glad you got to enjoy your grandchildren.

Another cloudy day. Wed the sun is suppose to come out again and stay out for at least three days. It may not be too warm but it makes the day so much nicer.
Yesterday I had a nice horse and cart ride with my DH and then I went for a hike in the mountains with a couple of friends.
I got on the scale today and I only had a pound loss.
Maybe next week will be better.
Making a big pot of soup. I like cooking and being able to have leftovers for the next day.
I have youth wed night, so I need to finish up my lesson tomorrow.
Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Evening,
I had a wonderful day. My grandson celebrated his b-day today. I was told that he wanted a necklace. He's 6 years old now. I'm racking my brain trying to figure out how to get this boy a necklace without it looking feminine. Finally I went to the store and got some wide silver colored chain. I wove a leather strand in and out of the chain. I found a masculine cross to hang from it. It came out really great and was something the other kids wouldn't tease him about. He opened all the gifts from his friends and opened mine last. He really liked all the toys. When he opened mine he exclaimed "Just what I always wanted!!". My heart just swelled. The smaller one kept giving me great big hugs and sitting in my lap off and on all afternoon. Needless to say my day was utterly fantastic. It's wonderful being a Nana.

ANDREJA, emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
I'm so happy for you.
It's not only the liquid diet. I can't eat any fruits or vegetables!! I don't know what I'm going eat. Everything they say I can have is something I don't eat anymore. No grains! All I can have is white and of no nutritional value, plus that nasty stuff you have to drink. I'll be so glad when it's all over. The only good thing is afterward I should lose a couple of pounds. emoticon

NANCY, Family time is so special and I know how much you miss your DD since she moved so far away. It's sounds like you had an absolutely wonderful time. I'm so happy for you and under the circumstances I wouldn't worry about the scale either. Your doing the best thing by getting back on track right away before that scale gets any worse. emoticon

RACHEL, As a matter of fact the sun did come back. It's definately fall weather though. The sun is out but the temperatures are starting to come down. Not cold yet so I'm happy. I would still love to have a ride on that cart. I hope your scale moves in the right direction. emoticon

Pam- Did you get your sun back yesterday because it was yucky here lol It is pretty out today though. I am waiting for my DH to get back with the horse and cart so I can take a ride.

WTG Andreja on the weight loss and doing good eating and exercising. I weigh in tomorrow, hope to see a loss.

Nancy- Glad to see you back. I am so happy for you that you got to spend quality time with your family. I think that is so important.

I am waiting on my DH to get back with my DS for my turn to ride in the horse and cart lol
It is a beautiful day. Yesterday was so yucky. It was gloomy all day and chilly.
We all went to pizza hut yesterday evening to get away. I did good though because I ordered a thin and crispy veggie with no sauce. It was good. I also allowed myself a breadstick.
I stayed in my calorie range. Tomorrow I am going to weigh in. Hope to see a loss.
Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning everyone! I am back from my Spark break. My daughter had been home from Phoenix and I wanted to dedicate all of my time to family. We had a nice week. My son and his wife did come for dinner Sunday. They didn't really act very surprised, but it was nice to have us all together. We took her to see my MIL and went out to dinner. We did a lot of eating out and the scale showed it this morning. I am getting back on track starting today. We are driving her to Chicago this morning. Saying good-bye is always so hard.

Hi Team! I've been doing my workouts and eating well again, and it has paid off with a 2-pound weight loss this week! emoticon I had a minor slip-up with food yesterday, but this will happen from time to time and I don't beat myself up over it. Hope I can keep the motivation going!
Pam, I can't imagine being on a liquid diet for a few days, that must be terrible. But it is for a good cause! emoticon

RACHEL, The sun came out for you and went away for me. It's been cloudy for the last two days. Not cloudy enough to rain though and we really need the rain. Sorry to hear about your sick daughter. Bronchitis is the worst. Hopefully all will be well soon. Glad to hear that your on top of your exercising and on track with your calories. I wish I could say the same. I'm having a colonoscopy soon and I'm going to be on a liquid diet for a few days and have to drink that nasty stuff. I bet I lose a few pounds LOL.

Hello Sparkfriends!!
Hope your all having a sparktastic day!!
Finally the sun has came back into our life lol It was gone for a week I kid you not. Rain and clouds just about did me in.
My oldest is sick, took her to the Dr. yesterday after school, she has bronchitis hopefully her medicine will kick in. She stayed home from school today.
Still doing good on exercise and I had a small slip up with food yesterday by eating candy corn. Didn't go over my cals though so I am happy with that.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Car problems are the worst. I have one that every time something small happens it costs so much because they have to tear the engine apart just to get to it. Sorry to hear your not feeling well. Your right, this to shall pass. Your very dedicated to exercise even when your not feeling well.

Just a quick hello before the weekend. Hope everyone is doing good. I had my car in the shop - cost me $350 and then the next day the car died due to a different problem. Still not sure what is wrong with it - hope to find out today. Had to rely on people picking me up and bringing me home so I could get to work. Oh and I had a sore throat that started on Wednesday and today I woke up with no voice. But on the plus side I have still been getting my exercise in. This too will pass!!!

Hello team,
I started the day running and didn't stop until 10:00 pm. I'm tired and going to bed soon. I'm pretty stressed out about all this problem that is being brought up by J day worker. I believe she is undermining me. I think I'm going to have to let her go. This saddens me as she takes good care of my cousin. She needs to do her job and leave it at that. Oh well.

SASHAY, We need the rain also but I don't like it either.

Hello Pam and the team!! I guess I am good to go, the push-ups basically just hurt my arms that day and that was it... I got in my workout for today- although I will add some PT stuff. emoticon I haven't been doing them like I should be and I got "hell" for it today. So I am back to the old drawing board with that. Today I pick up my DD from school and bring her to get her flu shot. Hopefully everything goes well. I always worry when this time of year comes around....

Raining. What more can I say? Forecast calls for rain for the next few days into the weekend. We do need it- I can't deny it, but it could be sunny for 2 days out of the 4. I would be happy!!

Hi team,
Good news! I did a lot of research today and spoke with several county officials and I discovered that I was doing nothing wrong. So the trouble I was having yesterday. Is a non issue. So happy. I got up early this morning and got my exercise in. Worked out for over an hour and 1/2. It felt so good. In a great mood this evening.

SASHAY, YouR going to feel even more pain tomorrow. Make sure you don't overdo. You need to give your muscles a chance to heal after that kind of workout. You are as sore as I think you are going to be then you should allow your muscles rebuild for at least two days.

DEBBIE, Car trouble is the worst. If it's really high and they don't show you the problem then make sure to get a second opinion. I've saved a lot of money that way. It has taken awhile but I now have a car repairman that I totally trust and is very reasonable. Hopefully you have such a person.

RACHEL, Usually I could try to comply with your request for sunshine as I'm n CA but all I've seen the last few days are clouds. I hope you get that 2 pound loss.

NICOLE, So what is happening with all this working out? Are you losing weight, getting tone, what is the goal here?

Just a quick hello. Things are going good. I'm getting exercise in. Feeling good. Going to get on the scale some day this week to see if it has gone down any. My car is in the shop today so I'm hoping the bill is not too high...it has a chirpy sound plus it needs an inspection. Oh the fun.

Talk to you soon,

Today was a very trying day. I suspect I'm being played by my cousins day provider. I hope I'm wrong. She started a bunch of crap about Jeannine being able to watch her TV. I won't go into all the details. I really like her so I hope I'm wrong. I guess only time will tell. There were threats of elder abuse. I had discussions for several hours both yesterday and today. It was very draining. Any of you that have heard my saga of my cousin. Know that I've had conservatorship over my cousin for the last 16 years. She has epilepsy, cerabal palsy and is developmentally disabled. It's been a trial as of late as she has been deterioring quickly. Oh well the last thing would do is elder abuse. Trials teach us many things. I'm just not sure what Gods plan is for this particular trial. Perhaps I never will.

RACHEL, I good pot of chili sounds great. I've been thinking about making a pot myself.

DEBBIE, You have a lot to be proud of. Getting in that much exercise over the weekend is quite an accomplishment. Great going!!!

SASHAY, So glad you have made real progress. Staying on track so quickly is a great accomplishment. The next step is a tad harder, staying on track. It can be a bit harder but we are here to help you with that. If you feel yourself slipping just let us know and we can do whatever is possible. It's a team effort

ANDREJA, emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
Of course you are welcome back. Those that fall away are the ones that need us the most. I will try to check on you daily. After all you have been faithfull about keeping track of me and my accomplishments. Your a star!!

Things are going great! I am experiencing less pain in my right leg!! I believe it was the pool therapy yesterday!! Anyway! I finished my progressive challenge for the day and I will do it again sometime today! (Maybe in a few after I post). I'm glad you have returned Dany! That is great! I have been on and off over the years, and this time I'm so on!! Andreja- I'm sure it's not a problem you join.... I would say hop right in!!

Yesterday I went to church then took the girls shopping. It was really fun.
Then yesterday evening I got to go to my friends house. I got on her elliptical for 30 mins. I didn't go very fast and to stop a few secs here and then but it was a nice visit and workout. I think I would like to get one for Christmas. It would really strengthen my legs.
MY weight ticker is finally correct. Now if I start losing, maybe I can change it soon. Every week hopefully it will go down.
Today is laundry day and I am going to make a pot of chili. Have a great day!

I went to church this morning. It was really great. After that I've pretty much laid around all day. I'll do the exercise for the Challange and did 6 minutes this morning but other than that, not a thing. Oh well we all need a me day.

Good Evening All- I finished my wall push-ups for this weeks challenge. My arms feel WONDERFUL!! emoticon I haven't done much for exercise lately... BUT I do walk the dog for around 15 minutes daily. I have a few injuries that prevent me from doing what I would like...but I shouldn't use that excuse anymore. I was given a cardio exercise from the PT Lady named PAT to bring up my heart rate. AND IT WORKS!! I just don't do it much!!

Anyway... Things are going ok. I can expect to see a gain for tomorrow's weigh-in. BUT I have to forgive myself, and dust myself off and get up and keep moving forward!! Well have a wonderful evening.... emoticon

Today was a lay back day. I had a lot of plans but didn't do any of them. I got a lot free strawberries. 8 boxes of them. I gave two to J and blended 4 and put it into ice cube trays so that I can use them in my morning smoothies. I blended the blueberries and put them in ice cube trays too. I also got some fresh asparagus spears. I cooked them up today. I went over to J to give her hell. I won't go into detail but I was so hot. Then I tried to troubleshoot why the Internet was not working. All very mondane things. I got caught up in a 4 hour movie, got some exercise in while cooking. I went for a walk with my DH for about 30 minutes. It was a lot of fun. We did a lot of people watching and commented on others walking down the street or driving in a ridiculous manner. I made some frejitas for dinner and now I'm watching tv while catching up on SP.

RACHEL, Dinner was old time Italian. Dinner was family style. Order a main course, a pasta and a side dish and then we share. We had some wine too. We dropped $90 including tax and tip. It was so good but so expensive. Needless to say we aren't going back to often. But it really was great.

KELLY, Congrats on the new car. It's always great when we get a good deal. Enjoy your staycation.

Pam- Sorry Thurs was not a good day but I hope you have a great day today! I love Italian it is my favorite. We used to go to a place called the Macaroni Grill but it closed so now when I go to Knoxville it is the Olive Garden. We have a Gondolier but its cheap Italian lol
I noticed yesterday my insurance is not paying like it was. So I am going to pay cash instead. Come to find out, it is cheaper if the insurance is not paying or you have not met your deductible. Which I never do.

Good morning team. Today is Friday, my favorite day of the. It's moms day. We are going to the movies and to dinner. We're going to have Italian tonight. I'm really looking forward to it. Yesterday was a disappointing day. I went grocery shopping and discovered there was nothing on my card. It was supposed to be $284 loaded on it on the 8th. I spent an hour on hold and when I finally got to speak with someone they told me that they didn't receive the quarterly report. Luckily I keep copies of everything. So I had to go to the welfair office and wait another hour to have them scan everything in. It could be another 2weeks before I get my card filled. It's a good thing I get free food from several sources otherwise I wouldn't have things to eat.

SPARKED2BFIT, So happy to hear about your new weight class. I remember how great it felt when I reached a new 10 pound mark. Congratulations. Keep up the great work!!!

TAMMY, Great to hear that your on track. Keep up the good work. I wish I could say the same. My exercise is off track but I'll get it right soon.

SASHAY, emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
So glad you joined us on this very special thread. We encourage each other on our journeys to new healthy people. Your right that your trackers are the most important things especially the food tracker. Have a great weekend.

FITTEREVERYDAY, emoticon You were greatly missed. It's great about your new car!! What type of car is it. I hope you get the new job. I know how aggravating it can be being in waiting mode. Through up to God and let Him work it out and don't take it back. I hope you enjoy your staycation. It sounds like you have a lot of great things planned.

NANCY, You got the interview. FANTASTIC. I know when we did long interviews it was because several people interviews the person individually. Have a great time with your DD. I know you will.

DEBBIE, I know exactly what your talking about. I'm on antibiotics now and I expect the same results. It's a pain.

RACHEL, I went to the chiropractor also. I am finally getting full range of motion and my pain is going away. The bad thing is that I only have 3more sessions paid by the insurance. I really need more than that. I'm going to have fight with the insurance. Have a great weekend and I hope you make it to the movies.

I am so glad it is Friday!! Next week my youngest are on fall break. I wish my oldest was too but they started later and I guess that is why they do not get one. I hope to get a lot of cleaning done next week. This weekend I have no plans. If I do anything I would like to go to the movies.
Went to the chiropractor yesterday, I was sore afterwards. So I came home and rested. I feel much better today. It is a very rainy day. "again"
SO If I have to walk in place I will need to wear tennis shoes because I think doing it barefoot is what made my foot go out of place. I have supination in it and I land wrong if I don't have my insoles that help with that.
Hope you all have a great day!

Thanks on both Nancy!!!

I can be patient any other time....but when I've had an interview it's all I can think about. Oy vey....Well I was told I'd know probably early next week.

It is awesome being almost in the 140s, while it's a little aggravating waiting I do take in perspective that I've cleared the 170s and 160s and most of the 150s.

Kelly - Congrats on almost being into the 140's! I hope you hear back soon about the interview. It's hard to be patient!

Sashay - Welcome! Tracking is key for me to losing weight. Good luck on your journey!

Debbie C. - I've heard of people getting yeast infections from being on antibiotics. Do you like yogurt? One of my friends would always eat yogurt when on antibiotics to keep from getting a yeast infection. It's too late this time, but maybe for future reference? Feel better soon.

We finally made it to Friday. I am so anxious to get this day over. Tomorrow I get to see my daughter!

Debbie, we were able to get our car. DH had mostly finalized it on the phone so we had a couple hours at the dealership and then it was ours...well because of a miscommunication we have a loaner right now from the dealership and they should be delivering our car to hubby's work soon.

It will be such a blessing to have a car that actually works!

HI! Its been a few days since I checked in. I had my exercise under control and then took two days off, one because I ran out of time and one because I was not feeling good. Went to the doctor and after three weeks of being on antibiotics I now have a yeast infection. OH FUN. But things are mending and I got in 30 minutes of exercise last night. So I'm back on track and ready for the weekend. Going to be a busy one but I'll get some exercise in for sure!!!

Rachael - Thanks! The book I'm learning from recommends practicing 20-30 minutes every day. Mi don't always have 20 minutes, I just play when I can.

Pam - That sounds scary. Can the medicine be adjusted?

Nicole - I'm sorry to hear about your job. It sounds like you have the right attitude. I too believe that everything happens for a reason. Good luck in your job search.

Debbie - emoticon

Tammy - it's good to hear from you! Sounds like you're doing well.

Kelly - Good luck with the interview and enjoy your vacation!

I did get a call for an interview yesterday! The interview isn't until November 13th, and is 3 1/2 hours long! I've never been in an interview for that long before. I know when I worked at the university we would schedule 1/2 day or all day interviews, but those were for much higher positions. I'm supposed to get a schedule letter so I'll know what to expect.

Good morning all! Sorry I haven't been around but life has been nuts and I'm doing my best to keep up with it but it moves fast! Anyway, I'm having my staycation next week and have been trying to clean my apartment so that I don't see anything I feel like I need to do while technically on vacation, also hubby and I are hopefully getting a new car tonight...our car has been giving us fits, also also I have a job interview first thing tomorrow (it's for being a computer lab tech, something I did as a student and now a real position for it has opened up where I was before...I had to go for it). And through all of this trying to make sure I post in my fall challenge here and use my trackers.

You won't really see me next week and I'm HOPING it proves restful. We're going to some museums and the botanical gardens and hopefully a show if hubby can get the tickets.

NICOLE, I agree with you. God always has a plan. When I got layed off I spent the summer playing with my kids. That was when they were young. When I decided to get a job I got one right away. I'm glad you kept up on your exercise and looked at your circumstances as a good thing.

Hey all, sorry I haven't been around... Lost my job n things have been a lil crazy. All for the best though! I truly believe God has a plan and everything happens for a reason. I've been enjoying the break from the high stress and just takin some time to think about where to go from here. Thinking it might be great time for a new adventure! Thank goodness I was so into my workouts... It's all I've pretty much been doing and it's been keeping me sane.

Today didn't start off to good. Every blue moon my medicine builds up in my system and it effects my vision. It started when I was driving to the Chiro. It effects my vision. It was so hard to drive. If a cop seen me he would me over for drunk driving. When I got there I couldn't even walk straight. I had other errands but I went straight home. Fortunately it only lasts for about 1-1 1/2 hours. I'm now able to take care of my errands but I have a great headache. Today is filled with errands. It's going to be difficult to get my exercise in. All my snacks I've been having lately are filled with carbs and fat. Not quite sure how to stop. I think I'm going to have to go cold turkey. The bad thing is I have tons of fruit to eat.

RACHEL, so glad you got your steps in. It's a lot easier when you have a buddy. It's also great that you were able to fit family time at the same. Good going girl!!

NANCY, I'm so glad you were able to correct your application. I'm sure you will hear soon probably when you least expect it.

Rachael - My mom taught me to,play the organ when I was young. It's surprising hoe much different the piano is. I'm getting better though. The buggy is cute!

Pam - I misread your comment about being close to my DH, I hubby it said DD. Yes, my his and and I are very close. We basically grew up together since we married at ages 2
17 and 18! I am jealous of your walk with your husband, I can't get mine to get up and move.

I got a call yesterday from the university about the job. I forgot to upload my cover letter and they needed it before they can call me for an interview. I emailed it and am now waiting for the call. I really hope this pans out for me.

Pam- My DH has informed me that it is a horse cart
I guess that means you really can't put the cart before the horse lol

I got in my steps, thankfully the rain went away and I went down to the church and walked two miles and ran one with my friend. I am glad I have a friend that motivates me and I can motivate her. No matter what the weather has in store for us.
Plus my DH even went for the walking part and my kids played with hers.
It was a fun evening. Just wish my oldest didn't have homework so she could have took part.

Have a great day tomorrow!

RACHEL, It is to cute!! I love it! It would be so much fun. I'm a city girl so I would never be able to have a horse much less a buggy. It looks like the kind of thing that I've seen pictures of people that run with a buggy in places like China.

Pam- I think it is a buggy, I don't know why I said wagon lol I have never seen anything really like it. It has two wheels and the horse is the main part. It is still cute and fun. I put a picture on my sparkpage. 😊

I'm on the run today. I have several appointments for Mom and I have errands to boot. I need to get my exercise in sometime. It was great last night. My DH and I went for an evening walk. I got some exercise in and it made me very happy just to spend some quality time with him. We spent 25 minutes of easy conversation. It was great.

JOY, For some reason I don't use my slow cooker very often. I only use it for stew and short ribs. I really should use it more often. I know it's great. In fact I have two of them.

NANCY, Your very fortunate that you are able to talk with your daughter so often. I don't hear from either of my daughters very often. It's my fault as much as theirs as I don't pick up the phone either.

RACHEL, I would love to take a wagon ride like that it sounds like so much fun. I didn't get on the Wii but I'm planning on getting on it today. Will try again anyway.

Hello
I had a pretty good weekend. I made a pot of soup and just took it easy.
Sunday after church my husband got our horse ready to try and pull a two seated little buggy. Not very big but cute and fun.
Yesterday the rain came and it is still here so it was hard to get steps in. I did by walking in place though. Looks like another evening of that.

Welcome Tammy emoticon Sounds like your weather like I do. Sorry about your knee hope it is getting better. Glad you have resources to help you.

Nancy- I am really close with my oldest daughter also. So far she plans on going to College close to home. I cant believe that in just two more years she will be going. I dread her being gone. I think it is great you can play the piano. I would love to know how. I have tried to teach myself but it didn't work out well.

Joy - I hope you have a less stressful week this week.

Pam- Glad you slept well but that would be a awkward talk. Sounds like you handled it well. Hope your mouth does not bother you. I think it is wii time again here too. Especially if the rain is going to keep me from walking and running outside.

Debbie C- Yes, you can do it!!! It was 36 here the other morning. That is winter time for me here in TN lol

Everyone Have a great day!!

Pam - We've always been very close except when she was going through some of her teenage years. Since we work for the same company, we can instant message throughout the work day. Rarely does a day go by without one of us at least saying hi.

Joy - I love my slow cooker. My problem is that I have to leave for work at 6:30 am so I do t have a lot of time to out things together. Plus, we usually like to eat around 6:00 so or would be cooking for too long.

Hi Everyone-
Another hectic Monday! So glad for the slow cooker - I had no energy for cooking by the time I got home from work so it was good supper was already done.

Pam - it is good to hear you talking about your lists and getting back to somewhat of a normal routine. I know you are still not fully back to feeling yourself, but at least you are heading in the right direction.

Debbie - great goal - you can do it - just work it one day at a time. No need to wish you luck since there is no luck to it. You know what you need to do and you are capable and determined.

Tammy - I am glad you have such a great resource in your community. Your health center sounds great. I'll keep your knee in my prayers.

Hope everyone has a great Tuesday!

Joy
