I have as of 4/5 lost 2 pounds. In a way I am happy but then a little not for I know if I am not careful I will pack back on those 2 pounds I lost. Trying to get out and walk can be a little of a challenge for the weather don't want to pick to stay cold, wet or warm up. I am walking more which is a plus. I did go to Walmart and get a hulu hoop that weighs about 2.5LB. I used it for two days so far. It's funny to see me try to get that thing going, looks like I am having a serious problem all squatted down close to the ground just trying to get it to keep moving. I am still trying to drink more water. I flavor mine now to drink with my meals. And in flavor is couple slices of lemon and blueberries or lime and blueberries. At lest i know I am drinking at lest some water in the day. I don't weigh my self every day. For I know I would be more disappointed in my self if I stepped on the scale every day. So I try to do it every couple of days.

Lost a total of 5 pounds since we started on 3/09. (Didn't post earlier because the battery on my scale died and I had to find a new one.) It's a start.

I weighed in at 70.5kg this morning (last week was 72.25kg), so I should be thrilled, but somehow I wasn't that happy. I was sick this week, so I don't quite trust that the weight won't just come back on as I re-hydrate and recover fully. Also, because I procrastinated to the extreme, I was so stressed (and still am) today that I ate a lot. A LOT. I guess emotional eating is THE biggest obstacle on my journey to a healthier me. I am a little bit proud of myself that I didn't just go and buy a frozen pizza for lunch after the insane amount of food I'd consumed this morning, but took the time to make a grilled chicken salad instead. Sometimes it's good to focus on the small victories :D. (But I still won't step on the scale tomorrow ;D. I guess this is a good time to try and start to consult the scale less frequently :D!)
Once I'm done with the term paper tonight (the cause of my stress), I'll go out and get moving for a bit. Hopefully that'll make me feel better!

Thanks Azulpapel. It's been a very odd, surreal week. She was my friend and mentor, but her husband lost his wife, son, and home. Can't even imagine. Counting my blessings and trying to not take a moment for granted since this was a reminder how quickly we can leave this life!

Absolutely, Primeirony. It's the journey that counts, enjoy the ride, and so on. :) For me, week 3 is off to a good start - my healthier choices and activities are starting to feel like habits, which is damn encouraging. I wanted to make lasting lifestyle changes, not just go on a diet or such, and it's headed in that direction - I'm greatly pleased.
Twinsma510, I'm very sorry - my heart goes out to you and everyone who was effected by that awful mudslide.

Think of it this way: you didn't gain anything either! Sometimes it stinks when you don't see any progress but don't let that get you down. I always try to think this will be a long, difficult journey but in the end it will be worth it.

I didn't see a thread for this week, so I'm just posting here so that I still have my accountability :) I didn't lose any this week. I started on the elliptical, but after a rough weekend (friends lost in WA mudslides) I gave into Ben and Jerry's. Then I was waylaid by cadbury mini eggs last night. I didn't go crazy, but I know that one serving of those is more calories than 20 min. on the elliptical!

So, feeling positive about this next week ahead. Time to make new habits!
