The muscle building is coming along nicely. My spirits are always a little picked up because I know my body puts on muscle rather quickly and THEN I begin to shed pounds and the scale starts to move down.

OK, so, what's going right?
I'm doing something to promote my personal growth every day, whether it's reading, writing, meditating, going to an OA meeting, yoga, cardio, meal planning, eating 5-7 svgs of fruits & veggies, drinking 8+ glasses of water, tracking food and exercise, getting outside, working the 12 steps of ACoA, acting fiscally responsible, or letting go of fear, shame, and guilt...and some days, yes, some days I may even do all of the above!!!

~*~ Nicole ~*~

Wishing you some sort of success every day, and the ability to always see your blessings.

My new job as an undergraduate admissions counselor is going swell. I am loving it. Oh and getting a cute little apartment just when I was ready to give up. I've also gotten my eating back on track. Next-working on getting a more routine workout schedule.

Oh and the new boyfriend is going right too. emoticon

I'm impressed you're getting your masters!! That'll feel good! emoticon

I've had a great week. This does not mean it went perfect. I did not exercise as much as I should have and I need to work on that, plus I need to use my food tracker better, but I did eat healthy and I'm here! Woot!

I also joined a cool 4 week get off sweets Team. I'm Spark Rockin' emoticon

Well, to be honest, not much in the past month has gone right... but the fact that I am here, checking in, well that is victory in and of itself. This year is going by in the blink of an eye and I'm hopeful I will embrace the struggle. I can hardly wait until my master's is done.

After months of being on the road and interviewing, getting a new job, moving, getting partially settled in (yeah right--LOL) and starting my new job, I am finally getting back to working out and finding out how much I missed it.

I'm finally getting used to small portion sizes, so staying in my calorie range isn't such a struggle anymore. I was always pretty good at eating the right foods but I still ate SO many calories! It took a long time for me to not crave binges anymore. Within the last month I started noticing that my stomach was really satisfied with my small meals. Yay! emoticon

Hi all,

Just checking in. It's been a difficult new year for me, but I'm doing my best to stay positive. Right now, I'm in my pajamas drinking coffee and doing research for my class. It's snowing out, so I think I'll be staying like this for quite some time this morning.

Just wanted you to know you are all in my thoughts.

Paula

My mom has been in the hospital all week after having surgery on Monday, she will now be having a second surgery and a longer stay, and I have stayed on plan and not done any emotional or stress eating! I'm actually really proud of that!

I am slowly finding my motivation in things outside of weight loss. I did some writing yesterday... Just a few paragraphs, but since it's the start of something new and something that is close to my heart, I think it is going to prove itself to be an emotionally healing journey...

I have also learned about a new magazine that I accepting short story submissions for exactly the genre of story of my last book, and they will pay for it! I think I will write a short story set in the world of my last book... Maybe a back story... and submit it..

Getting enough sleep is a great thing, and a good way to start a cold morning, I got a bunch of sleep last night too. I have just a few more weeks to enjoy sleeping in whenever I want, then back to school. I've spent the last three days tracking all of my food for the first time in a long time and whereas I know I may not be able to keep it up once classes start, I think doing it between now and then will give me a stronger sense of what and how much I'm eating.

I'm starting my day here because I experienced a gain... but I know why. I've been frustrated with something in my personal life and I'm not getting my needs met and so I am eating out of frustration. And making crappy choices. But, I did get to sleep another 12 hours so that is definitely the right way to start out a very chilly day. Coffee in my pjs is the next thing on the agenda. I hope you all have a fantastic day!

I agree, wine is awesome when it's cold out! I love curling up on the couch with a movie or a good book and a glass of nice red wine. We're also moving into a record cold snap, Monday is suppose to have a high temperature of -11. I'm guessing it will be even colder where you are, Paula, since you're about 4 hours north of me.

I just had a great dinner, the fella cooked a roast and I made salad and reheated some of the veggies I made yesterday. Really happy that I'm feeling full and satisfied, but not stuffed.

wine is awesome in cold weather! Especially a good dry red! I guess it's a good thing I am considering it too cold to go to the wine store...

Nice job you guys! I decided to give in to the cold weather (we are entering a record cold period... going to be experiencing -60F windchills... yep, -60F) and ordered some takeout. Waiting on it now, just going to enjoy the moment and call it good. I may crack open my bottle of wine as well, but I should probably stick with water. Stay warm!

I have had 3 yummy filling meals today and even a snack and I am finding myself with having to find 81 calories to meet my minimum calorie goal (something I know from experience to reach, since I did stall for 3 weeks from not eating enough before!) Soooo now I get to have a little treat, I think... maybe a hot chocolate! :)

Today is my second day back to eating in a more healthy way and I've already had an awesome, healthy, and easy lunch, thanks to the fact that I spent a bunch of time yesterday doing a ton of prep work and precooking of tasty ingredients.

One positive thing for me is I managed to kick a bladder infection and now I don't have to waste nearly 300 calories a day on cranberry juice anymore! I think I also kicked it naturally just as fast as I did when using antibiotics last time...

I feel like I am well on track to eating well within my calories today and I am not feeling guilty about not exercising because I have a scheduled start date for Monday and so I feel things are in control! :)

Awesome Jan! I think it's great you are so prepared. I'm also planning on going shopping for a few more items, but the biggest struggle for me is preparation. I may have to start buying pre-prepared foods (ie: cut fruit/veggies) if it means I'll incorporate them more. Always more to be inspired by. xoxo

Well, it's only been a two full days, but I have already felt what it was like to be hungry. I also realized that my need to "do something" all of the time translates into one reason why I eat. I've been drinking 8+ glasses of water every day and trying to give myself some credit for all that I am doing (and realizing there is a reason I am tired often). Overall, so far so good.
