Wow i thought i was just a very weird woman, until now and im not bashing eating in the middle of the night because its one of the ways i must do to be able to go back to sleep. Its putting pounds on me but i cant just stay up all night every night. its not a whole lot of food , its like a cup of dry cereal, a candy bar or snack cake, grapes and almonds and such, the problem starts because im up every 2 hours. my doctor says it sleep chang syndrom named after doctors that work swing shifts and 12 or more hours and your body cant regulate so sleepness nights. i work in nursing field 2 jobs one at 7p to 7a and wekends doubles 7a to 11p. im so hoping i find a few people to share this journey and get some cheer. thanks for reading this.
something that's helped me out on those more hungry nights is a soda that's not caffeinated, like 7up or root beer (like a half cup or less sipped slowly over some time) and preferably with not much sugar. probably the best thing as a very light before bed snack that's helped me is a low sugar hot chocolate, gives the craving without so many calories or fat.

Hi and to the team. I agree - eat something with protein as it takes longer to digest and has satiety. Also was wondering if you are taking a sleep med that makes you get up and "sleep eat?" If so, make sure to let your dr know about this side-effect.
