When I first found sparks, I knew it was a blessing. But I backslid terribly and paid for it in pounds. Refocused again in July. Am down @20, but still a long way to go. Need to stay motivated, so i'm trying to get more involved wit other members. Still consider this site a blessing. Its amazing how focused it keeps me!

My youngest daughter wanted to lose weight before she had another baby but after losing about 10lbs she got pregnant. Her doctor just told her to eat healthy, be active and she won't gain as much as her last pregnancy. She has about 4 months to go.
You will find support on this site. So many helpful people here.

Has anyone changed their goal(s), routines, eating habits, etc ?
One change I have made, is to split a meal when I go out to eat with someone.

I have been busy getting my daughter ready to graduate and in the coming months I will be moving my son up North for his new job/apprentice schooling. Teaching Zumba and my full time job make it challenging to keep up with the team. I could use some help with team leadership. If you are interested, please send me a note so I can add you as a team leader.

I hate seeing the team suffer because my schedule has been so busy.

Home scale up so that means serious work. I did get on Wii yesterday. I will work on making it consistent. I hope everyone is doing well. Congratulations to all the losers and to all the turtles well done it is awesome it wasn’t a gain. To the gainers I know you can turn that into a loss. Look back over the week and tweak up your eating or exercise. I been there and know where I went wrong to make my gain happen. Now the scale says up so to get it to say down I need to make changes. Make the best of the week and let's see those changes. Remember if you gain look for the positive you did this week. Did you exercise awesome. Did you measurements change. Awesome. Did you give up a treat. Awesome. So look for those non scale victories too.

a very busy week. new hospice company so we get new people. they seem to be nice but the last one too only they did not have an aide for us.

i planned my food menu now to do a exercise plan. that is my hardest due to feeling guilty at leaving mom alone with dad.

friday take mom to doctor. next week it should be less stressful.

off to doctors mom has to go twice this week and twice next week. yep we are getting the cold snap too. but guess what can i except after all it is January. I know scale will be up today but need to get some exercise in and watch those calories .
no more birthdays till february. but son is having grandson at chucky cheese. hope they have salads or i am bringing a bag lunch.

Thanks Carol. It turned out to get worse before it is going to get better. I was the lucky recipient of the cold this time & it hit hard! No working out for us for the past couple of days. I slacked on my calorie tracking yesterday, too, but came back strong today. I'm hoping by Monday to be back in the gym if not sooner. As soon as I can breathe again.

My daughter has a bit of a cold, so we couldn't take her to the gym daycare today. I decided we would go for a walk instead. We took a lap on the bike path around our development which is a little less than 1.5 miles in just under 25 minutes. I underestimated how cold it was, so we only did one lap. I was glad I committed to getting a walk in, though. My other accomplishments today: I tracked my food & drank 10 glasses of water so far... that is the biggest accomplishments for me! I never seem to get enough water. Plenty of coffee, but never water! So, woo hoo!!! :)

I have decided to make a comeback to Spark People after taking over a year off when I found out I was pregnant. Now, 9 months after the birth of my baby girl, I have only lost 10 or so pounds. I have lots more to go... I need to stay committed to my weight loss. I started Spark Coach yesterday & it's really helping me pay attention to my goals. :) Hubby took pictures of me in my bathing suit the other day... I feel bad for him that he has to see me like that. I always see a different person in the mirror than I do in pictures. The camera really must add 10+ pounds. I want to look good for him and myself again! We went grocery shopping & I was happy to see that the majority of the cart was filled with fruits and veggies. There will be a lot of soups and salads on my menu. We also went to Old Navy & I stocked up on new workout clothes. That always makes going to the gym more exciting. :) Now, I need to set a 10 pound goal to encourage me to stick with it... what is it that I really want to motivate me, though?? Maybe more gym clothes?? :) How is everyone's 2013 going so far??

I would have to say that my goals are to try and make healthy snack choices. I have been really good at working out, but I get the munchies about once or twice a week and everything goes to crap.

December has to be a new start (in case the Myans show up) to plan better for myself. Here's to planning emoticon

It irks me that with all the walking I did yesterday my weight is up today. But it'll be down tomorrow since I'm going to really watch what I eat today.

Went grocery shopping this morning and I really loaded up on veggies for my lunches. I didn't get fresh since I only grocery shop twice a month but I got quite a few frozen and canned veggies. It's a start. Mainly got things like mustard greens, turnip greens, yams, carrots, cabbage. I know canned veggies aren't the best, but it's better than no veggies at all. I have to work within a tight budget and the veggies are just for me since hubby doesn't like them. Luckily I could get what I needed on sale so there was no big issues over it.
And I got in almost 3 hours walking while doing all the shopping.

Actually, I am facing the same issue here. I have a health o meter now and it just isn't reliable. I was looking at the one that will "talk" to sparkpeople, but that one is way outside my budget.

Hopefully some others will chime in here and offer us some recommendations.

Have ordered a calorie count book with fats, protein etc. I have started to track what I am eating. I weigh in on Thursday. We will see if there is any change!

I had a good diet for four days but today i ate a bit more than what i supposed to eat.


I will start again tomorrow. I m sure i didn't get back all the weight i lost but i need to be careful.
