Halt the salt....that's the rhyme I remember my doctor saying. That should be a big help:)

Rovershi - I tend to hold water when I'm ovulating. Don't really know why but I can tell by my ring that I'm puffy. I went off the bc pill and lost a pound or two but I don't think it's worth the longer cycle and mood swings. I'm also 43 and shouldn't be taking it anyway, so age factors in as well.

Perhaps you're working out too much and eating too little. I've actually had that problem before. I've been on bc for years and never really had any of the extra water weight gain that I wouldn't normally have gotten when that time of month came around anyway, but we're all different.

Been on the BCP for years. What helped me was by day 20, stop all salt and sugar intake. As far as the herbal goes, I was told dont play with it. Skope

My trainer and I are trying to figure out why my weight is up this week when I've been working out like a fiend and keeping a good diet. I've been on the pill for at least 20 years and I'm considering going off to see if it might get those pesky last few pounds off. My questions are these: Has anyone noticed a weight loss after quitting the pill? Does anyone experience weight gain/water retention mid-cycle - maybe around the time of ovulation? Any advice on non-hormonal forms of birth control? Thanks!

Lynda's White Chicken Chili (Chef Meg's Makeover)
Submitted By: CHEF_MEG

This chili is packed with flavor and fiber. Make a big batch for a crowd or freeze it in single-serving containers for up to 4 months.
Chef Meg made over this recipe. She halved the sodium levels by using no salt-added beans (you could also drain and rinse your beans). She also cut the fat and calories.
